Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman don’t need to live together to make their marriage work. In fact, even though they have lived separately for years they are seemingly closer than ever. The It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor opened up the couple’s unconventional marriage in an interview with Fox News Digital, where he was promoting his new comedy film Poolman, which opens in theaters today, Friday, May 10. “We’re doing great,” DeVito said of his relationship with his former Taxi co-star. “We’re sharing our granddaughter, our new granddaughter, and we see each other all the time.” DeVito and Perlman, who played boyfriend and girlfriend in Taxi and married parents in 1996’s Matilda, tied the knot in 1982. They went on to have three children: Lucy Chet DeVito, Grace Fan DeVito (born March 1985), and Jacob Daniel DeVito (born October 1987). They are also grandparents to Sinclair Lucille DeVito, who turned one back in March.

Ya know that feeling when you watch something dumb, and even though you know it’s stupid, you can’t help but laugh and enjoy yourself? The 1980s are full of comedies like that. Yeah, we know they’re dumb and not especially clever, but whatever, man, every now and then, you’re in a bad mood, and you want to turn your brain off. That’s why they made seven Police Academy movies. No one thought they were good, but we watched them anyway because they were stupid in a pleasing way.

The Tony Award nominations are set to take place April 30, and in the lead-up, the month is jam-packed with Broadway openings, with 14 taking place over the course of 11 days.
While the days before the Tony Awards eligibility cutoff, on April 25, are typically filled with openings, many industry insiders are optimistic that this year’s rush spells somewhat of a return to normalcy. But with the influx of shows and changing audience makeup, producers are also anxious about making sure their shows stand out to ticket-buyers and can make it to the Tony Awards ceremony on June 16 and beyond.
“It largely feels very exciting. For the first time in a while, it really feels like we are back to pre-pandemic levels of volume,” says Greg Nobile, producer of several shows on Broadway this season, including the new musicals Lempicka and Illinoise and the play revival of An Enemy of the People.

The movie, upon its release, was a commercial success, and the audience lauded the performances of the actors. Despite being a commercial success, the movie received mixed reviews from critics. We all know that The Penguin and Mr. Freeze appeared together at this year’s Oscars ceremony and that they faced their former nemesis, Batman, who challenged them to come at him. A confrontation was avoided, and this funny performance became one of the night’s best moments. However, it seems that some of those involved want more! Danny DeVito, who played Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. The Penguin, in Tim Burton’s 1992 Batman Returns, recently said that he would like to go back to his role and tackle Batman once again, but this time alongside Mr. Freeze, who was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, DeVito’s Oscars co-presenter.
Schwarzenegger appeared as Mr. Freeze in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, where he fought against Batman alongside Poison Ivy and Bane. The irony of this situation is that while DeVito really did fight Michael Keaton’s Batman in Burton’s movie,...

And just when you thought Hollywood would shift away from the remake and reboot craze, news of another remake just arrived. In 1989, Hollywood legend Danny DeVito directed the satirical black comedy The War of the Roses, starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. The film was based on the 1981 novel of the same name written by Warren Adler. The movie follows a wealthy couple with a seemingly perfect life that crumbles at one point, and the perfection soon turns into a horrible and outrageous divorce.
The original movie was critically acclaimed and was a success for DeVito. Today, 35 years after the original, it has been reported that a remake of the movie is in the making, with Jay Roach attached to direct. On top of that, some interesting casting information has been revealed.

Three and a half decades post his initial portrayal, Michael Keaton unveils the narrative behind Tim Burton’s controversial decision to cast him as Batman ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
In a recent chat with GQ, Michael Keaton looked back on landing the role of Bruce Wayne in Tim Burton’s Batman flick, recognizing the initial uproar over his casting. Back in the late ’80s, fans weren’t sold on Keaton’s ability to pull off the iconic superhero, worried that his comedic background wouldn’t mesh with the dark character. Yet, Keaton has since earned acclaim as one of the top actors to don the Batman cape, proving Burton’s unconventional choice right. Keaton gave props to Burton for his gutsy call and shared some thoughts on his time filming the inaugural Batman film.

With Colin Farrell taking over the role as the Penguin and no doubt on his way to becoming the “definitive” version for a younger generation, he reflected on some of the other quintessential performances throughout the Batman franchise. And like so many of us, he put Heath Ledger’s Joker at number one.
When asked which performance in any Batman movie was his favorite, Colin Farrell replied, “I mean, Heath. Heath takes it, you know.” That’s about as good of a pick as you can have, as Ledger’s Joker is widely considered one of the best performances in any comic book movie, even earning him one of the few posthumous acting Oscars ever given. Colin Farrell has a pretty special professional connection to Heath Ledger, too, stepping in (alongside Johnny Depp and Jude Law) to fill in for Ledger on The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus following his tragic 2008 death,...

Before Robert Pattinson’s The Batman introduced Colin Farrell as the Penguin, DC fans got a much more terrifying take on the character by Danny DeVito. He is the exact reason why Pattinson finds Tim Burton’s 1992 film, Batman Returns, as one of the most disturbing things even now. Michael Keaton’s second Batman film was also one to take a dark turn as a DC superhero movie.

Pattinson followed in the footsteps of George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck to play the latest iteration of Batman. James Gunn’s Dcu is set to introduce another Batman, a casting that has yet to be announced.

Hollywood stars Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be seen reuniting on screen after 35 years after the 1998 film ‘Twins’. DeVito has confirmed a new project is in the works with Schwarzenegger, reports people.com.
“We’re working on something, a project that we’re going to do together, another movie,” DeVito told CNN.
Of his bond with the bodybuilder-actor-politician, he shared that their friendship predated the 1988 comedy about an unlikely pair of brothers.
“Arnold and I are good buddies. We met way before ‘Twins’, years ago. We get along really well,” added DeVito, who also featured with the ‘Terminator’ star in the 1994 comedy ‘Junior’ with Emma Thompson.
The ‘Matilda’ star first teased a potential reunion with Schwarzenegger in November.

Michael Keaton is regarded as one of the finest actors in the entertainment industry who gained worldwide recognition when he starred as Bruce Wayne a.k.a., Batman in 1989’s Batman and later 1992’s Batman Returns. Directed by Tim Burton, the DC superhero movie was only given a green signal after Burton’s 1988 Beetlejuice was a success.
Keaton’s casting was considered a controversy at the time since the actor had been pigeonholed as a comic actor and fans along with critics weren’t sure if he could portray a serious character like Batman. The actor’s performance was highly lauded by the audience and the critics after the movie was released. The actor recently reprised the character for 2023’s The Flash and was later asked about the future of his Batman in Dcu.

Danny DeVito’s portrayal of Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin in the 1992 film ‘Batman Returns’ is considered one of his most memorable performances. He underwent a significant physical transformation for the role and demonstrated a strong commitment to the character. DeVito brought both menace and humor to the character, earning him critical acclaim and recognition as one of the standout performances in the movie. Alongside Michael Keaton, who reprised his role as Batman in the 2023 film ‘The Flash,’ DeVito’s performance stood out.
Despite ‘Batman Returns’ being a commercial and critical disappointment, Keaton’s return to the role received widespread praise, sparking speculation about DeVito potentially reprising his role as well, this time within the DC Extended Universe (Dceu). In an interview with Screenrant, DeVito expressed his willingness to return to the role under one condition: if Tim Burton were to direct the film.

Danny DeVito’s portrayal of Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin in 1992 ‘Batman Returns’ is definitely one of his most iconic roles. He went through a major physical transformation to play it as well as showed remarkable dedication to the character. He was menacing but also managed to convey as certain dose of humor through the role. It earned him critical acclaim and is often cited as one of the best performances in the movie. DeVito starred alongside Michael Keaton and as we know, Keaton reprised his role as Batman in 2023 ‘Flash.’
Even though the movie was a commercial and critical failure and helped seal the fate of Dceu, Keateon’s reprisal of the role was highly praised, leading fans to ask whether there are chances that DeVito would be willing to reprise his role as well, this time under Dcu umbrella. Sometimes, when actors find themselves the focus of a particularly passionate fandom, they reject it. Look at Harrison Ford constantly playing down the importance of "Star Wars" or Robert Pattinson and his open disdain for the "Twilight" series. Which is why it's nice when an actor shares in fans' joy for a particularly beloved performance. Case in point: Danny DeVito and his role as Penguin in "Batman Returns."
Tim Burton's 1992 expressionist masterpiece remains the best Batman movie ever made, and DeVito is a big part of that legacy. The "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star delivered a stunningly committed performance as Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin, managing to make the deformed "penguin man of the sewers" so wretchedly evil and yet, at times, sympathetic. The abandoned son of a well-to-do couple commits some truly heinous acts throughout "Returns" and yet you still feel a pang of sadness for the old boy.

You wanna get nuts? Let’s get nuts! Michael Keaton is revealing a little bit more about his quasi-return as Batman at the 96th Academy Awards, saying he could kick some Gotham butt if he’s forced to. He can also still rock an ascot, which he said he wore to “Bruce Wayne it up a little bit”, something many fans were keen to notice.
While we will never actually see Michael Keaton’s Batman square off against Danny DeVito’s Penguin again or Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze even once (that job went to George Clooney), he does think he would come out on top. “Danny is the one I’d worry about ’cause he’s sneaky. It was the Oscars 2024 when Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, and Arnold Schwarzenegger had a little bit of a reunion. Back in the 1990s, Keaton portrayed the role of Batman while DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger portrayed the roles of Penguin and Mr. Freeze, respectively.
Having a reunion during the Oscars 2024, Michael Keaton decided to have some fun with his former co-stars. During a segment, Keaton apparently made fun of Danny DeVito’s height and also alleged that he could beat Schwarzenegger in a fight!

Michael Keaton is sharing how his Batman appearance at the Oscars 2024 came to be.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor-director explained that either Jimmy Kimmel or Oscars producer Molly McNearney reached out to him about the bit ahead of the awards show, and he thought it would be fun.
The bit saw Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito take the stage on Sunday night to present the award for best visual effects, which went to Godzilla: Minus One. But apparently, they weren’t reuniting as Twins co-stars but as Batman villains, with Keaton’s Dark Knight in the audience. (Schwarzenegger portrayed Mr. Frieze in Batman & Robin, which starred George Clooney’s Batman, and DeVito took on the role of The Penguin in Batman Returns.)
When Kimmel asked about his menacing look at the men onstage, Keaton joked that he could take on both of their villains any time.

Danny DeVito captivated the audiences as he took the stage at the 2024 Oscars with Arnold Schwarzenegger. The duo reminisced about their experiences facing off against the DC superhero Batman in their respective films. After presenting the impressive Batman bit with Michael Keaton, the actor-filmmaker is now reflecting on the prospect of reprising his role as Oswald Cobblepot, aka Penguin.

DeVito portrayed the character in Tim Burton’s 1992 film Batman Returns, starring alongside Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Christopher Walken. With their remarkable performances and Burton’s distinct style, the film has solidified its place as one of the most memorable in the history of the superhero genre.

Known for his versatile performances, Hollywood star Michael Keaton has become one of the best actors in the industry, even earning an Oscar nomination for his 2014 film Birdman. However, his portrayal of the iconic DC superhero Batman remains one of his most celebrated roles. Keaton took on the role in the 1989 film Batman and later returned in its 1992 sequel. And he reprised his role alongside Ezra Miller in the 2023 superhero film, The Flash.

The film, however, did not bode very well either at the box office or among critics and audiences. And former Batman villains Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito recently brought the superhero’s essence back at the 96th Academy Awards, reigniting admiration for the 72-year-old actor among fans.

The 96th Academy Awards saw Oppenheimer taking home the most awards of the night, a fine selection of memorable speeches and even a dog in the audience. But some of the funniest moments of the Oscars came in between all of these. For us, the highlight was undoubtedly a showdown for the ages between Michael Keaton and two foes of Batman: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.
One presenter — well, pair of presenters — that got big laughs was the duo of Schwarzenegger and DeVito, who gave out the Oscars for Best Visual Effects and Best Editing. Now we all know that the two headlined Twins (which Oppenheimer editor Jennifer Lame was cool enough to shout out), but what they really wanted to focus on was taking down Batman, as Mr. Freeze and The Penguin were both discarded by the Caped Crusader in Batman & Robin and Batman Returns, respectively. Actors Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who shared the screen in ‘Twins’, had a reunion at the recently concluded 96th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
They took to the stage to present the award for the Best Visual Effects to ‘Godzilla Minus One’ and Best Film Editing to the Christopher Nolan directorial ‘Oppenheimer’, reports ‘Variety’.
However, it was their jokes about ‘Batman’ that left the Oscars audience in splits.
“Arnold and I are presenting tonight together for a very obvious reason,” DeVito said.
“We’ve both tried to kill Batman.”
Schwarzenegger revealed to applause. DeVito played the Penguin in Tim Burton’s ‘Batman Returns’, where he faced off against Michael Keaton‘s Batman and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito took to the Oscar stage 36 years after starring together in the 1988 comedy Twins.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito had a “Twins” reunion at the Oscars as they joined forces to present best visual effects to “Godzilla Minus One” and best film editing to “Oppenheimer.” But it was their jokes about Batman that stole the show and had the Oscars audience uproariously laughing.

Watching "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is hilarious, so one can only imagine what it's like to be in the same room when the gang are engaging in their over-the-top antics. The "Always Sunny" blooper reels have always been pretty great because there are so many fun little alternate line-readings and moments where everyone loses it, with a few rather funny highlights of their own. I get the giggles every time I imagine Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day cracking up talking about "the white hot cream" of a preteen Charlie in "The Gang Dances Their A**es Off," for example. Laughing can be contagious, and chuckling along with folks behind the gang is pretty easy, but apparently even star Glenn Howerton sometimes bursts into bouts of laughter when he thinks about how much he lost it during one particular moment in season 10.

There have been some truly incredible cameos on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" over the years, ranging from all of the gang's spouses to director Guillermo del Toro, who is nearly unrecognizable as Pappy McPoyle. Often, the cameos come about because the main cast knew someone — del Toro worked with star Charlie Day on "Pacific Rim," for example — but sometimes, they really try to reach beyond their circle of friends and acquaintances. Sometimes it works, while other times they're totally out of luck. The season 4 episode "Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life" is a perfect example of both, because there are some wonderful cameos and one that just sadly didn't work out.
In the episode, Dennis (Glenn Howerton) wants to publish his erotic memoirs, but Frank (Danny DeVito) and Mac (Rob McElhenney) point out that the stories inside are totally make-believe and could open them up to litigation -- for example,...

After experiencing enormous success with its live-action version of the manga and anime One Piece last year, Netflix quickly revealed the second season of the show in response to the positive feedback they received. In what was probably their first Hollywood red carpet appearance post-strike, One Piece cast members Iñaki Godoy and Jacob Romero showed up at the premiere for Netflix’s new live-action series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and teased where season 2 could go.
While the duo largely remained mum on start of production plans for Season 2, which is expected to begin filming relatively soon, and whether they have seen scripts. One Piece co-showrunner Matt Owens told Deadline back in October that the Season 2 writers room had met briefly before the WGA strike, with the team getting into writing scripts after the end of the work stoppage this past fall. Romero confirmed the Straw Hats’ mission next season.

One of the most peculiar yet beloved duos that Hollywood gifted its audiences was Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. Their antics in Twins had audiences roaring for more, making them truly iconic. But it wasn’t just their on-screen chemistry that had fans hooked. Off-screen, these two were peas in a pod, sharing laughs and mischief alike. And in a moment of pure chaos, the internet’s darling, Danny DeVito, pulled off an epic prank on none other than Schwarzenegger himself, leaving everyone in stitches and cementing their friendship for eternity.

The Superb Owl is more than just a big sports event. It is a time to relish in spectacle, be it a half-time music show where SpongeBob makes jokes about Leonardo DiCaprio, Netflix potentially releasing a previously unknown movie all of a sudden, and, of course, flashy trailers and big commercials galore.
One of the biggest commercials of this year's Super Bowl reunited Arnold Schwarzenegger with his "Twins" and "Junior" co-star Danny DeVito to promote State Farm Insurance. The ad shows Schwarzenegger shooting a film within a film, a commercial for State Farm wherein the former governor of California rushes out of a burning house while rescuing two dogs. Then a director yells cut and consistently chastises Arnold for the way he pronounces the word "neighbor" with his Austrian accent. The solution? Hire DeVito to co-star in the ad and correct Schwarzenegger's pronunciation.

Super Bowl commercials aren't just movie trailers -- it's also the time of year when far less flashy brands pay the big bucks to get stars in their ads, ones that all of America will see. Sometimes, those ads can get pretty wild.
This year, we got one from State Farm Insurance featuring the talents of former bodybuilder and Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger (who's also starred in a few movies you may have heard of). The ad is titled "Like A Good Neighbaaa," referencing both State Farm's company slogan and Arnold's famous Austrian accent. And that pronunciation difference is the keystone of the ad.
Arnold, in a red State Farm shirt, rushes out of a burning house (which explodes behind him) carrying two dogs to safety. "Agent State Farm" is initially shown only from the shoulders down, but his face is revealed once he recites the company slogan.

Actress Awkwafina says she is planning to throw a wrap-up party for her ‘Migration’ co-stars just to meet Danny DeVito, whom she says is the best. The 35-year-old actress and DeVito both feature in ‘Migration’, the new animated adventure-comedy film. However, the duo have never actually come face-to-face with each other.
“I love Danny DeVito. He’s the best. I’m planning (a wrap party) just (to meet him),” Awkwafina told Sky News, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The actress has lent her voice for the part of Chump, the leader of a New York City-based pigeon gang, in ‘Migration’. Awkwafina said that she can actually relate to her on-screen character.
Awkwafina said: “She’s a real New Yorker. So, I feel like that’s definitely something I identify with.”
Despite this, Awkwafina isn’t actually a fan of pigeons at all.
She shared: “They’re gritty, they’re one of the city.

The classic sitcom "Taxi" has its fair share of interesting characters that work in New York City's Sunshine Cab Company, but arguably the tender heart at its center is boxer Tony Banta, played by Tony Danza. He's not always the brightest crayon in the box, but he's full of courage and love and would do just about anything for his friends. Despite being a bit of a womanizer early on, he's never cruel or lecherous like his boss Louie (Danny DeVito), and he is a fantastic friend to his co-worker Elaine (Marilu Henner). He's also surprisingly sweet despite his punchy side gig, serving as the template for later sitcom characters like Joey from "Friends." It's truly hard to imagine "Taxi" without him.
What's even harder to imagine is the character of Tony being played by anybody else. He's warm and earnest and bounces off great against some of the more cynical comedians on the cast.

The main characters of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are so outrageous they seem like they couldn't possibly be based in real life, and Frank is perhaps the strangest of them all. Portrayed by the incomparable Danny DeVito, Dennis and Dee's millionaire father chooses to move into their friend Charlie's tiny apartment and leave his upper-class lifestyle behind.
"He's got the Midas touch, but he misses living in squalor," DeVito explained in an interview with The New York Times. "The one line that got me hooked to do the show was that I had a scene with Charlie Day, and I say [...] 'Let me come and live with you, man. I miss living in this Bohemian style.'"

It took a savvy comedy fan to know what Andy Kaufman was doing with his career. More than a mere funnyman, Kaufman tended to satirize the trappings of standup comedy, often using his routines to play pranks on the audience. As detailed in Miloš Forman's 1999 biopic "Man on the Moon," Kaufman wanted to host a TV special that contained artificial signal "static" in the hope that viewers would get up out of their seats and whack their "broken" TV sets. That's not funny for the audience, but it's certainly funny for Kaufman.
Part of Kaufman's satirical act was a whole separate stage persona named Tony Clifton, a foul-mouthed, alcoholic lounge singer who cussed and behaved badly. Clifton was also occasionally played by Kaufman's close friend and associate Bob Zmuda, allowing Clifton and Kaufman to occasionally appear in the same room, calling the reality of the character into question. Romance. Adventure. Bickering. Mudslides. Alligators are ready to devour you at a moment’s notice. This is all at the heart of Romancing the Stone – the movie and the production. Before it became a hit with audiences – which took some time itself – the script was developed by a sole waitress…before landing at the feet of an Oscar winner before bouncing between studios before finding itself the victim of poor press before a miraculous recovery at the box office. With additional backstories of mended feuds, career skyrocketing, and tragic deaths, it reads like something out of a book – not those trashy paperbacks but almost something even more unbelievable: the making of Romancing the Stone.

The 2023 Emmys ceremony celebrated 75 years of television by staging reunions of some of your favorite shows, including FX’s long-running comedy “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Cast members Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito came out on stage and poked fun at the Emmy Awards for never nominating them throughout their 16 seasons (and counting), but is that factually correct? Let’s consult the history books!
While it’s true that “Sunny” has never been nominated for any of the main Primetime categories — i.e. series, acting, writing and directing — the half-hour show did actually receive three bids in the little-known category of Best Stunt Coordination for a Comedy Series or Variety Program. “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” lost those three races to Nickelodeon’s “Supah Ninjas” in 2013 and to Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” in 2014 and 2015.

The 75th Primetime Emmys was a somewhat predictable affair, with "Succession," "The Bear" and "Beef" winning nearly everything, but there was one creative choice that made it stand clearly above the Emmys of the past few years. The theme this time around was honoring the most beloved shows in TV history, which made for a far more interesting transition between awards than the usual random comedy schticks.

The cast of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” has a bone to pick with the Emmys: They want an award.
Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito took the stage Monday night to present the award for Outstanding Talk Series.
“What an honor it is to be here at the 75th Emmy Awards,” Olson began.
“Wait, what?” Howerton interjected. “Seventy-five years? The show’s been on for 75 years? We’ve been on the air since 2005. I’ve never been here.”
“Have you guys been doing this every single year without us?” Day then asked.
“They do. They get dressed up. They give each other awards,” McElhenney said. “And 16 seasons we’ve never even presented before.”

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has managed to stay on the air longer than any other live-action sitcom in television history because it constantly one-ups itself. Every episode is more extreme than the one before. The show has aired for 16 seasons and counting, yet it has never stopped taking big swings.
By season 7, the series creators wanted to continue to challenge themselves and make themselves laugh. So they came up with an outlandish and offensive premise — a child's beauty pageant that takes place in a bar. It might sound like one of the most inappropriate things to ever air on television, but of course, that's their bread and butter on "Sunny." However, series creator Glenn Howerton insists that the point of the show is not to push boundaries.
"The way the show is talked about, it's as if that's our goal, or that our goal is to push the boundaries of what's decent or whatever,...

Most of the central cast in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" were young when they appeared in Miloš Forman's 1975 movie. But with Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, and the inimitable Jack Nicholson (to name just a few of the film's stars), Forman was going to have to try really hard to mess up his adaptation of Ken Kesey's 1962 novel. Luckily, the Czech director actually did a standout job of it, delivering a film often cited as one of the 20th century's finest. After a decade of delays, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" made it to the big screen, and while Forman's direction was excellent, the movie perhaps wouldn't occupy as vaunted a position as it does without that top-notch cast.
