“RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” continued its 9th season on Friday, May 31 with the fourth episode featuring returning queens from seasons past. In the sister series “Untucked,” now in its 6th “All Stars” season, the queens throw back a cocktail and dish the dirt backstage on the latest challenge. Check out our recap of “Untucked” episode 4 below.
This week the queens competed in “Smokin’ Hot Firefighter Makeovers,” bringing a male firefighter into the fold with a makeover and dancing in a girl group performance challenge. Prior to RuPaul Charles announcing the official top two performers of the week next to earn the coveted Beautiful Benefactress Badges, the queens gathered backstage with the firefighters to reflect on the fashion-focused challenge.
For the firefighters, used to be called heroes, the drag queens were the heroes this week, as Adam put it, for being “unapologetically you guys” and being an inspiration to so many people back home.

“Bring back my girls,” RuPaul famously said; now, here they are again in “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 9.”
Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Gottmik, Jorgeous, Nina West, Plastique Tiara, Roxxxy Andrews, Shannel and Vanessa Vanjie are the returning queens and they’re doing something good for the world. In a new twist, they’re no longer competing for prize money; instead, they’re backing their favorite charities.
The competition will follow a non-elimination format. Instead, each week will see the top two queens will earn benefactress badges. By the end of the season, the top queens with the most badges will compete for the crown, a space in the “All Stars” Hall of Fame, plus prize money for their charity. The queens also receive a stipend for their wardrobe.
Speaking with Variety, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” producer Tom Campbell said the show will be anything but boring: “We’re taking on charities that are very important,...

Glenn Close‘s Bring Change To Mind organization held its annual Revels and Revelations Gala.
It was their 11th gala, and this year, it hosted the likes of Steve Buscemi, Reba McEntire, Nina West and Ryan Reynolds.
Each year, the nonprofit organization focused on ending the stigma around mental illness chooses an honoree to receive the Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter award. The award was formed by Robin Williams’ children, Zachary, Zelda and Cody, after he died in 2014.
This year’s honoree was Reynolds.
“I am deeply and profoundly honored,” the Deadpool star told Extra during the event. “I am not just [somebody who] watched Robin my whole life, but I studied him. He’s quite literally singular. There’s nobody else like him before him or after him. There never will be.”
Previous honorees include Melissa McCarthy, Eugene and Dan Levy, Will Smith and his family, Ben Stiller, Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal.

“It’s always so rewarding when you make something and you love it,” declares Daniel Radcliffe about portraying the larger-than-life satirist Weird Al Yankovic. For our recent webchat he adds, “The whole experience of shooting this movie was so special and fun, and then to put that out into the world and for it to inspire the same feeling in the people who watch it; you can’t really ask for anything more than that as an actor or a performer. So yeah, the reactions that the film’s gotten have been amazing.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
Radcliffe stars in “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” as a fictionalized version of the singer and accordionist, who co-wrote the screenplay with director Eric Appel. The comedy is loosely based on Yankovic’s life, parodying the biopic formula with tongue firmly planted in cheek, much like the musical parodies that Yankovic is famous for.

Top drag stars, LGBTQ celebrities including Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Adam Lambert, and celebrity allies of the queer community banded together Sunday to stage Drag Isn’t Dangerous, a telethon to raise money to combat anti-lgbtq legislation.
As anti-drag and anti-trans bills proliferate across the United States — such as Tennessee’s ban on public drag performances (which has been temporarily blocked by a judge) — the telethon brought in more than $500,000 from 5,000 individual donors. According to the organizers, “all net proceeds from the event will be divided among approved charities (GLAAD, Glsen, Headcount, Black Queer Town Hall, The ACLU Drag Defense Fund, Trans Justice Funding Project, Victory Fund) that support Lgbtqia+ causes and drag performers in need, especially in states where they face discrimination and bans.” The fundraiser, held through GoFundMe, continues through Tuesday.

Andrew Levitt — best known as his bubbly, mama bear drag persona Nina West — is no stranger to life on the road. In addition to a laundry list of film and TV credits, the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 11 fan-favorite and Miss Congeniality winner has for years toured the country as Nina and, more recently, as the beloved Edna Turnblad in the national tour of “Hairspray.” (The latter begins its three-week stint at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Tuesday.)
But it’s only within the last year that touring in any capacity has begun to feel dangerous. Anti-drag bills are sweeping across the U.S., with Tennessee banning public drag shows as of March, and over a dozen other states introducing similar legislation, including Arizona, Kentucky and Oklahoma. "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" is one of the funniest movies of 2022, and I will die on this hill. The fake totally accurate biopic stars Daniel Radcliffe of "Harry Potter" fame as the accordion-playing songster who brought us such classics as "Like a Surgeon," "Amish Paradise," and "Eat It," which are parodies of "Like a Virgin," "Gangster's Paradise," and "Beat It," in case you somehow didn't know.
The film tells the not-so very real tale of Al's life, from his father's disapproval of his wild accordion-playing days to his rock star bingeing to his toxic romantic relationship with Madonna (Evan Rachel Wood in the best casting choice of the year). Of course, none all of this is true, and it makes for a fun story.
One of the best scenes in the film is a pool party where a young Al meets pretty much every niche superstar who was famous in the 1970s and 1980s,...

On January 6, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 15 premieres on MTV with 16 all-new queens, the largest starting cast in the series to date. The contestants will be competing for the show’s biggest purse in herstory as well — a whopping 200,000 grand prize. As any superfan would know, each season is accompanied by a weekly recap series “The Pit Stop,” hosted by a former queen and featuring guest stars. On December 20, the official Drag Race Twitter feed announced that this season’s host is none other than season 6 winner Bianca Del Rio.
Bianca follows in the footsteps of legendary winners Bob the Drag Queen, Monet X Change and Trixie Mattel that all hosted “The Pit Stop” in past seasons. The weekly recap series is one of the most memeable parts of the Drag Race universe. We will always remember when Violet Chachki hit repeat on the “No” button in Trixie’s season 13 episode...

Imagine a world where Harry Potter goes to a pool party and ends up talking to Luke Skywalker. It might seem like fan fiction you came across on a questionable website. Maybe it sounds like a dream you had after you watched "Star Wars" and then fell asleep listening to a "Harry Potter" audiobook
That magical pool party in a galaxy far, far away almost happened. Well, not quite like you're thinking. "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" is finally out on Roku, and it features a pool party scene with just about every famous person from the 1980s -- well, actors playing them, anyway. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as "Weird" Al Yankovic. It not only celebrates a fictional version of Yankovic, one of the best parts of that decade, but it parodies biopic films in the very best way. This fictional version of "Weird" Al's life imagines his parents'...

For Nina West, this fall has been rather divine.
The drag queen will appear onscreen Nov. 4 in her first movie, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, playing trailblazing drag icon Divine. And this week, she debuted her children’s book, The You Kind of Kind.
The You Kind of Kind centers on Little Nina, who spends her day exploring neighborhoods and highlighting acts of kindness. Though the book is about getting out and about, West wrote it during the height of Covid, when she was stuck at home.
“It was a lot of dreaming about, ‘What’s the landscape going to look like when this book does come out?’” says West, also known as Andrew Levitt.
For the project, West enlisted first-time illustrator Hayden Evans, with their partnership spawning from West’s time as a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Evans was a fan of the show,...

“You always hope every show you do is a massive revolutionary force that changes people’s lives,” says RuPaul’s Drag Race producer Fenton Bailey, “but so rarely is that the case.” But by any metric, World of Wonder’s long-running reality show — in which ever more outrageous drag queens compete for the approval of its imperious host RuPaul — is exactly that show. Across all of its TV and digital properties, the franchise received 11 Emmy nominations this year, and if the main Drag Race competition show wins six, it will make it the fifth most Emmy-winning TV show in history. And that’s not all: After spawning 14 U.S. seasons since it first appeared in 2009, the show’s format has been exported to the UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Thailand and the Philippines, with Belgium and Sweden to follow next year.

You put that ice cream in your mouth and you are in very very very big trouble.
You guys. I recently gave up dairy for health reasons [insert huge hangry sigh]. Well, "gave up" in this case means severely cut down. An occassional piece of cheese is allowed and I also have two pints of Nina West endorsed ice cream still in the freezer which I'm veeery slowly metering out as rewards for the good behavior of not eating ice cream. But really --what is good about not eating ice cream? Nothing. Nothing At All.
So after the jump let's celebrate ice cream at the movies...

On the ninth episode of season 11 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Plastique Tiara was eliminated. Do you think she was the right choice to go this week after her performance in the Lip Sync For Your Life or should Vanessa Vanjie Mateo have been sent packing instead? Vote in our poll below and be sure to sound off in the comments section with your thoughts on episode 9, “L.A.D.P.,”which aired April 25 on VH1.
Plastique and Vanessa ended up in the bottom two after failing to impress RuPaul Charles and the three guest judges — Fortune Feimster, Cheyenne Jackson and Natasha Lyonne — throughout the ninth series of competitions. That meant they were pitted against each other in the Lsfyl. Each had to perform to the Fantasia Barrino hit “Hood Boy,” In the end, RuPaul opted to throw a lifeline to Vanessa while Plastique was sent home to Dallas.

It’s fitting that Thursday’s episode of Drag Race was cop-themed, because some of the queens’ performances were so bad, they technically qualified as crimes against Ru-manity.
Let’s start with the first major disappointment of the evening: the reading challenge, which was so terrible that RuPaul couldn’t just close the library — she had to condemn it. From Nina West having to explain her punchlines to Vanessa Vanjie Mateo screaming nursery rhymes, it became clear that some of these girls need to go back to school and brush up on the fundamentals.

In the all-new ninth episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” on April 25, the eight queens still competing on season 11 were given the chance to show their acting abilities (or lack thereof) in a spoof of the reality TV show “Cops.” Actors Natasha Lyonne and Cheyenne Jackson guest judged their performances as they clash with the law in the TV series “Los Angeles Drag Patrol.” Which contestant came out on top and was chosen as winner of episode 9 of season 11?
Last week was a shocker when Yvie Oddly and Brooke Lynn Hytes faced off in the Lsfyl. After each aced their performance of Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry,” RuPaul Charles granted them both a reprieve. And Ru issued a stern warning to the other girls that the competition has gone up a notch.
Below, check out our minute-by-minute live blog recap of season 11 episode 9, titled “L.A.D.P.'...

On the sixth episode of season 11 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Scarlet Envy was eliminated.
