- Earned a bachelor's degree in Theatre from Rose Bruford College-University of Manchester. Also trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the National Shakespeare Conservatory.
- Has worked extensively in theatre, including at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, where he was selected as a member of the Globe's International Actors' Fellowship, and in Japan, where he played Hamlet in a touring production of Hamlet.

- Is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada.
