Stars: Ike Barinholtz, Tiffany Haddish, Nora Dunn, Chris Ellis, Jon Barinholtz, Meredith Hagner, Carrie Brownstein, Jay Duplass, Billy Magnussen, John Cho, Priah Ferguson, Henry Kaufman, Max Greenfield, Jon Lovett, Brian Guest | Written and Directed by Ike Barinholtz
The Oath centers on married couple Chris (Barinholtz) and Kai (Tiffany Haddish) who learn that citizens are being asked to sign a loyalty oath to the President, with a Black Friday deadline. As if the pressure of family gatherings wasn’t enough, the couple’s tense Thanksgiving dinner quickly goes off the rails with a “looming government crisis.”
The Oath, Ike Barinholtz’ directorial debut, thankfully, is a rather surprising and hilarious under the radar comedy. Creating comedic embellishment out of an incredibly dark and specific pinpointed era reminiscent of our own political turmoil is no easy task. Persuading audiences who bare witness to certain social commentary in real life twenty-four hours a day...

Don Groves is a Deadline contributor based in Sydney Yesterday, Deadline posted a Funny Or Die video made by American actor Brian Guest in response to the proliferation of Australian actors being cast in broadcast pilots this season. His “agent” tells him at one point in the video, “You’re doing great work, you’re just not Australian.” As Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva pointed out, this has been a sore topic for Hollywood talent agents and their American-born clients this season as the nets bet heavily on actors from Down Under. So what’s all the hubbub about? At least 23 Aussies have been cast in pilots this season, an unprecedented number. Some are unfamiliar commodoties Stateside like Luke Mitchell, Bob Morley, Chris Egan, Lincoln Lewis, Rick Donald and Luke Bracey, who were all regulars on the Seven network’s long-running TV soap Home And Away. Others are established names like Miranda Otto,...

Sorry there's no page two today. I had a laptop crash and lost the images I had pulled. On the bright side, the laptop seems functional again. And on the really bright side, we have a Days of Our Lives liveblog today.
John Barrowman is guest starring on an episode of Scandal, but there are no details of his character. It's not the first time Barrowman has been part of a Shonda Rimes project. He was slated to star in Gilded Lilies, which didn't get picked up to series. Sorry, UK, I don't think we're going to give him back now that we've got him.
France's Senate has voted 179-157 to legalize marriage for all. The first article of the bill is approved by both houses, without changes, making it extremely likely that equality is coming to France. Other articles of the bill are still pending, and I don't know...

This has been a sore topic for Hollywood talent agents and their American-born clients this pilot season as U.S. broadcast networks bet heavily on Australian actors. Whilst his parents have been brutally attacked, Billy Travers (Taylor Handley) lives it up at a party. Appropriate choice of music with Phil Collins' In the Air Tonight, but that was going back a few years. Mac (Gary Sinise) arrives at the Cs and elicits from the mother the identity of their attacker. She uses finger motions to indicate her son from the family photo. Flack (Eddie Cahill) arrests Billy. Hawkes (Hill Harper) asks Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and Lindsay (Anna Belknap) if they would have had the foresight to ask her the same questions as Mac did in order to obtain an ID. No they wouldn't have and also because it's not conclusive. Even if she may not survived, her ID would still not have been enough to convict her son, but it would have carried some weight. They analyze the Cs and collect trace evidence and samples. Jo (Sela Ward) questions Billy,...
