Tay Ying
- Actress
With her celebrity parents Hong Huifang and Zheng Geping, it comes as no surprise that Tay Ying has contemplated a career in acting. Her pleasant appearance led her to spend her teenage years modeling for commercials and magazine covers.
In 2017, she made her on-screen debut in the film "While You Were Young," where she portrayed a model alongside other emerging artistes. Two years later, she starred as one of the main characters in the Channel 8 martial arts blockbuster drama "The Good Fight." Her versatile fighting skills in the drama received positive reviews.
Being bilingual in English and Mandarin, she secured the female lead role in the Channel 5 English drama "Slow Dancing," based on the bestselling e-book by Singaporean writer Noelle. It was a significant milestone for her as she portrayed two different roles in the show.
While pursuing her acting career, dancing remains a source of pride for Tay Ying since her youth. She dedicates her spare time to practicing dance moves and was previously a member of the Temasek Polytechnic Dance Ensemble (TPDE). Her passion for dance continues beyond her academic years as she recently formed a Kpop dance-focused band named TTYL with her fellow artiste friends.
