Surprising an old professional like Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars takes a lot, but he looked like he was surprised in an upcoming episode.
Over the years, he has seen almost everything come through his shop, and now that he is taking his crew around America on Pawn Stars Do America, fans have noticed something about a deal.
In the teaser that Pawn Stars dropped on YouTube for Season 2 Episode 10, Desert Beach, something about an interaction with a seller seems to have fans talking.
This week, the crew, Rick, his son Corey Harrison, and employee Chumlee were in Mesa, Arizona, to look for fabulous finds for the pawn shop back in Las Vegas.
Although Rick may be an expert on many things, he still likes to hire experts on particular objects to offer a price intelligently and avoid losing money.

Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" movies are truly the definition of "star-studded." Bleak though "Dune: Part Two" may be, the sequel in particular is packed with big-name actors, from stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya to Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and Javier Bardem. Villeneuve even managed to coax Christopher Walken out of a four-year acting hiatus for his follow-up to 2021's "Dune." All of which amounted to a set that must have been intimidating for even seasoned actors.
Take Dave Bautista, for example. When shooting "Dune: Part Two," the wrestler-turned-actor was particularly intimidated by "Elvis" star Austin Butler, before being surprised at how warm and supportive he was. Even Butler himself admitted to being unnerved by the scale of the production, revealing in a behind-the-scenes clip that he was nervous about the shoot and that arriving on set felt like "the first day of school."

This Dune: Part Two article contains spoilers.
For most casual fans and hardcore spice addicts alike, Dune: Part Two is a triumph. Not only did Denis Villeneuve get to complete his visionary adaptation of the first Frank Herbert Dune novel (phew!) but he was also able to infuse his cinematic trip to Arrakis with modern sensibilities. For longtime fans, Dune: Part Two is not the most faithful filmed version of the first book, but it’s much closer to the text than the 1984 version and feels bigger and grander than the (more faithful) 2000 miniseries version. To put it simply, Dune: Part Two, combined with Part One, is (probably) the best-filmed version of Dune we’re likely to ever get. Fidelity to a book is never entirely possible with adaptations, nor is it necessarily desirable. As Villeneuve told Den of Geek back in 2021: “When you adapt it’s an act of vandalism.

Now that "Dune: Part Two" has crossed box office milestones and set up director Denis Villenueve to keep the spice flowing with a forthcoming "Dune 3," we can forget all about claims that Frank Herbert's original "Dune" novel was "unfilmable." We no longer need to worry that Villeneuve's adaptation would be too arcane and dense with sci-fi lore to appeal to mass audiences. We can simply take in his "Dune" duology for the breathtaking spectacle that it is.
The "Dune" discourse will likely veer toward the forthcoming threequel and the "Dune: Prophecy" series, set to hit Max this fall, but in the meantime, Villeneuve can simply revel in his latest blockbuster's success. But this isn't just a commercial win for Villeneuve. It has been the longest of waits, Gentle Readers, but Bridgerton Season 3 is finally here!!
The smash Regency-set Netflix series returned May 16 in a dizzying thunder of carriage wheels that brought the ton back to London after a summer in the countryside, all refreshed and ready for the new debutante season with the Queen's next "diamond."
One dashing figure returned home by sea instead of land: a newly suave Colin Bridgerton apparently procured a swashbuckling long brown coat on his travels in addition to a marked dislike for sleeping alone.
In the chaotic swirl of activity before the Queen's court, we learn that the mysterious Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) will wear the tall white feather for her debut that morning.
However, it seems she'd prefer to stay home playing the pianoforte.

Amidst the pomp and circumstance surrounding the Imperium delegation’s arrival to the Atreides home world of Caladan, Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac), has a practical question. “How much did it cost them, traveling all this way for this formality?” he asks his Mentat Thufir Hawat at the start of Dune. And then Thufir, played by Stephen McKinley Henderson, does something weird. He doesn’t whip out a palm pilot or consult his calculator watch. He instead rolls his eyes into the back of his head for a couple of seconds and then produces an answer: “Three Guild Navigators, a total of one-point-four-six-million-sixty-two Solaris roundtrip.” Director Denis Villeneuve nor his co-writers Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth explain what any of those words mean in the script, or why Thufir does that weird thing with his eyes. And viewers easily chalk it up just another weird thing in this unfamiliar world.

A second memoir on Hollywood media mogul John Malone appears to be in the works.
“Well, he’s had one,” Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei told the MoffettNathanson Media, Internet & Communications Conference during a session that was webcast on Tuesday. Maffei, who works hand-in-hand with Malone, was referring to the 2003 biography Cable Cowboy: John Malone and the Rise of the Modern Cable Business, by Mark Robichaux.
Maffei said Robichaux was at work on a second memoir, with no publication date specified. “He’s been working on that for at least three years. I remember getting interviewed for it a while ago,” Maffei added.
News of a new book about the original cable TV baron followed Maffei being asked how connected Malone was to his company after he signaled a semi-retirement. “John is not day-to-day, but obviously no major decision gets made without John’s approval. And frankly, even well before that,...

This article contains spoilers for "Dune: Part Two."
Denis Villeneuve's "Dune: Part Two" takes a few departures from Frank Herbert's original novel, perhaps most notably in the omission of Alia Atreides. Alia is Paul's young sister, born while he and his mother Jessica had survived the Harkonnen massacre and were hiding out with the desert-dwelling Fremen. In the book, Alia grows to toddlerhood supernaturally fast and already possesses a spate of eerie Bene Gesserit mental powers. She's also the one who, as a toddler, knifed the evil Baron Harkonnen to death.
Villeneuve figured that shooting in the desert with a toddler would be difficult and uncomfortable for a young actor, so he transformed Alia into a more abstract character. Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) now has psychic conversations with the still-growing fetus inside her womb, while Paul (Timothée Chalamet) has a dreamlike vision of an adult Alia, seemingly contacting him from the future.

This article contains spoilers for "X-Men '97."
Magneto of "X-Men" has one of the most brilliant backstories in superhero comics — they almost made a movie entirely about it. He was once a young Jewish boy when Nazi Germany invaded Poland. Captured and dehumanized, he suffered at concentration camp Auschwitz like so many of his people. He survived but it convinced him that hatred is as natural to men as breathing, and so he fights to ensure the prosperity of mutantkind. This backstory was not part of Magneto's original conception (Chris Claremont added it in 1981's "Uncanny X-Men" #150), but you'll be hard-pressed to find a writer who hasn't embraced it since.
"X-Men '97" certainly has. In episode 2, "Mutant Liberation Begins," when Magneto is tried before the United Nations, he recalls how he was first put on his path when his people were slaughtered because "they called God by a different name.

"Dune: Part Two" is one of the best movies of 2024 and it actually makes the first "Dune" movie from director Denis Villeneuve even better. So it only makes sense that the Lego set inspired by one of the franchise's signature vehicles is one of the best building brick vehicles they've ever produced.
The Lego "Dune" Atreides Royal Ornithopter set brings the aerial vehicle to life with incredible engineering and an impressive wingspan. Lego Designer Michael Psiaki developed it for over a year before getting in touch with Warner Bros. Pictures about releasing the Lego set, which then allowed him to collaborate with production designer Patrice Vermette to ensure that the Lego vehicle was as accurate as possible in building brick form.
Lego sent over their "Dune" Ornithopter set for us to build ourselves, and with a 31-inch wingspan and deployable landing gear, this Lego set was significantly more challenging to build than I originally anticipated.

Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" films are an embarrassment of riches. With a strong ensemble cast, gorgeous visuals, an arresting story, and production design to die for, the filmmaker's take on Frank Herbert's epic sci-fi saga is firing on all cylinders. The movies also have fantastic effects makeup; a talented team is responsible for turning Austin Butler into a scowling, pale villain, etching runes onto the faces of the Bene Gesserit, and making everyone generally look both hot and windswept.
Oscar-nominated makeup artist Donald Mowat is credited as head of the makeup department on both 2021's "Dune" and "Dune: Part Two," but in 2020, he told Inside The Film Room that he nearly didn't get to work on the movies after all. Mowat previously collaborated extensively with Daniel Craig, doing his makeup on films like "Cowboys & Aliens" and "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" before joining the Bond franchise for "Skyfall" and Spectre.

In Dune: War for Arrakis two to four players will control the opposing forces of House Atreides and House Harkonnen as they do battle to control the desert planet. Played over a series of rounds and lasting about 3 or 4 hours, Dune: War for Arrakis is actually best played by just two people. This is partly because of how long it is, but also because it’s a game of decisiveness and control, which isn’t always compatible with systems that drive joint decision making.
Dune: War for Arrakis is massively asymmetric, with each of the two main factions having very different win conditions, and necessitating very different play styles. Under constant pressure to produce more and more spice, the Harkonnen player will need to delve deep into the desert – exposing their forces to sandworms and sandstorms or risking the consequences of various embargoes. Meanwhile, the Atreides player moves freely and rapidly across the land,...

Tom Cruise is undoubtedly one of the finest actors Hollywood has to offer and the biggest superstars of all time. Despite his status in the film industry, his colleagues have vouched for his generosity and graciousness on set. The actor doesn’t have diva moments like you would expect someone of his caliber to. However, he does have a strange request when it comes to his co-stars.
The Mummy (2017)

When Stephen McKinley Henderson appears on screen, you always know you’re in good hands. The presence of the beloved character actor all but guarantees that he’s going to pass on some eye-opening wisdom and make you feel something, which explains why his two-time co-star Cailee Spaeny considers him the Yoda-like figure in her life. Ian Fleming is perhaps best known for being the creator of James Bond and the series of novels that center the character, but he's also the mind behind the 1964 children's novel "Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang: The Magical Car," which was subsequently turned into the beloved, Academy Award-nominated fantasy movie musical and later, a stage musical. The story focuses on the Potts family, namely, siblings Jeremy and Jemima, who desperately try to set up their widowed inventor father Caractacus with a beautiful woman named Truly Scrumptious. And people had the audacity to make fun of the character names in "The Hunger Games" series? Tsk. Tsk. During a day at the beach, Caractacus tells the children a fantastical tale about the villainous Baron Bomburst, the tyrant ruler of the land of Vulgaria, and his attempts to steal their magical family car, the titular Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The show has been stuffed with the hustle of Dior and Coco to stand as pillars and set a mark in the French fashion industry. Even though they have taken some wrong decisions in their careers, they have managed to etch a mark on the fashion industry, which has been brought out in The New Look. Will Coco be arrested? Will Christian’s show be successful? Let’s find out!

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two was recently released and gained more fans for the already-famous franchise. The sci-fi epic starred Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Austin Butler, and Stellan Skarsgård in lead roles. Fans and critics were equally in awe of Villeneuve’s visual storytelling, with many calling it his masterpiece.
Villeneuve changed some aspects of the original novel by Frank Herbert to fit the runtime of the two films, as well as making sure that the characters and their personalities were reflective of today’s sensibilities. The novel published in 1965 was noted for Frank Herbert’s homophobic characterization of the antagonist, which Villeneuve had changed in his duology.

"Dune: Part Two" spoilers follow.
In Frank Herbert's 1965 novel "Dune," the main character Paul Atreides, and his mother Jessica, flee into the deserts of Arrakis to escape a successful attack on their home by the murderous House Harkonnen. They fall in with the Fremen, the nomadic natives of Arrakis, and Paul will grow to become their leader. Thanks to some manipulation from Jessica, Paul will also come to be considered the Fremen Messiah. When they first fled, Jessica was pregnant. In her years with the Fremen, Jessica will give birth to a girl named Alia. She will grow to be a toddler with eerie powers, granted to her by the Water of Life, a semi-poisonous worm excretion that Jessica drank while pregnant.
In David Lynch's 1984 film adaptation of "Dune," Alia is played by a young Alicia Witt and voiced by an adult actress. In the 2000 miniseries adaptation of "Dune,...

In the world of Frank Herbert's "Dune," set in the distant future of 10191, rich and powerful families hire powerful, sometimes supernatural assistants to aid in their business and in the rearing of their noble children. Both the benevolent House Atreides and the wicked House Harkonnen have, in their employ, beings called Mentats, who have trained their brains to serve as fast-thinking supercomputers. Mentats are what the "Dune" universe has instead of conventional computers. According to Herbert's lore, this was done out of fear of artificial intelligence. The House Atreides Mentat — as he was envisioned in Denis Villeneuve's 2021 film "Dune: Part One" — was a man named Thufir Hawat (Stephen McKinley Henderson), a kindly, grandfatherly type who sported a small lip tattoo, and whose eyes turned pure white when he did his mental calculations.

Denis Villeneuve's new hit film "Dune: Part Two" sees the rise of a villain not glimpsed in "Dune: Part One." In the film, the evil Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård), having lost faith in his nephew Rabban (Dave Bautista) and his ability to exterminate the Fremen on Arrakis, turns to his far more sociopathic, aggressive nephew Feyd-Rautha (Austin Butler), a young man with no remorse and a murderous streak a mile wide. A large section of "Dune: Part Two" is devoted to describing Feyd's horrible evil, with several Bene Gesserit witches noting that he can only be controlled through flattery and sexuality, not conscience. Feyd is a violent, walking id, and the film ultimately culminates in a knife fight between him and the Messianic Paul Atreaides (Timothée Chalamet).

Austin Butler is on his phenomenal rise in Hollywood with his recent astounding performances, including Elvis and Dune: Part Two. Butler has a unique acting method; that is how he can be differentiated from his co-stars and other actors. He would keep his character even off the camera, at least to a certain extent.
Austin Butler in Dune: Part Two
Method acting is what Butler is embracing to evaluate his prowess, but it has also led to the kiss with one of his co-stars that many dubbed as creepy. However, his co-star Stellan Skarsgård who has been in the acting business for decades, didn’t mind Butler’s improvisation. It was natural and very much fitting to the narrative for which the director also kept it in the scene.

It's been a rough couple of movies for the "Dune" villain Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård). First, he nearly died from Leto Atreides' poison gas-filled tooth, and now he's been stabbed to death by his own grandson. The poor guy has met his painful demise, all simply because he killed and tortured a bunch of people for decades on end. Not fair! But if it's any consolation for him, the Baron Harkonnen from the books didn't end on a graceful note either. Instead of being killed by his known enemy Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), the book version of Baron was slain by a hyper-intelligent knife-wielding toddler.
In order to explain this, we must first explain the movie's other major departure from its source material. Whereas the movie version of Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) stays pregnant throughout the entire runtime, talking with her fetus...

The central romance in “Dune: Part Two” may be between Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya), but it is another onscreen spark that’s causing a stir.
Austin Butler told Access Hollywood that the kiss between his character Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen and onscreen uncle Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, played by Stellan Skarsgård, was entirely improvised. According to Butler, the peck was meant to signify Feyd-Rautha’s utter devotion to the Baron.

“He’s game for anything,” Butler said of Skarsgård. “He’s the best…It’s always about how you’re trying to affect somebody else.”

Austin Butler confirmed in an interview with Access Hollywood that his kiss with co-star Stellan Skarsgård in “Dune: Part Two” was improvised on his behalf. The kiss between Butler’s Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen and Skarsgård’s Baron Vladimir Harkonnen is unexpected and creepy as the characters are nephew and uncle, but it reaffirms Feyd-Rautha’s devotion to his uncle and deep desire to be him. That’s also why Butler mimicked Skarsgård’s speaking voice while crafting his own accent for Feyd-Rautha.

Skarsgård told Variety that acting opposite Butler in “Dune: Part Two” was rather hilarious. “I laughed so much because it was so obvious that he really enjoyed being evil,” the actor said.

Director Denis Villeneuve's "Dune: Part Two" is lighting the world on fire right now, much like Paul Muad'Dib's (Timothee Chalamet) jihad will be doing to the known universe after the movie's end. The sequel enjoyed a box office debut twice as big as the first "Dune" did in 2021. Unlike was the case with David Lynch's 1984 "Dune," which earned too little for sequels, it seems that Warner Bros. now has its next blockbuster franchise.

"Dune: Part Two" makes a lot of changes to the source material. It skips over the book's two-year time jump, it lets Chani have a moral backbone, and it removes an entire storyline about Paul having an infant son who tragically dies in a Harkonnen attack. But when it comes to one major, game-changing reveal from the book, the movie stays faithful: Jessica is the Baron Vladimir Harkonnen's secret daughter, and Paul is his secret grandson.
The exact details of how this all came to be are fuzzy; the "Prelude of Dune" novels (not written by Frank Herbert) technically provide an explanation, but many fans don't consider it canon. Based off what Herbert himself actually wrote, Jessica's heritage was a discreet decision made by the Bene Gesserit, a powerful group of witches who have been secretly running a 10,000-year breeding program in...

A remarkable actor, he has made sure to give a beyond-captivating performance in every single role ordained to him. Like his embodying of the ruthless Baron Vladimir Harkonnen in his recent project Dune: Part Two, which was nothing short of utterly commendable.

In fact, when it comes to his roles, Stellan Skarsgård doesn’t step back from taking risks if it means he can deliver the ultimate, essential performance required of the character — even if the risk is as great as his life. Just like what he did while shooting for the Oscar-winning masterpiece, Good Will Hunting, with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Renowned for his immersive approach to character portrayal, Stellan Skarsgard has delved deep into the psyche of his roles. And taking on the role of the sinister Baron Vladimir Harkonnen in the Dune film series was not any different as he underwent a remarkable transformation to bring the character to life on-screen. The film needed him to endure eight-hour-long sessions in the makeup chair, leading to Skarsgård’s hesitation towards reprising his role in Dune 2.

It took a village of Denis Villeneuve’s most trusted artisans to pull off “Dune: Part Two’s” epic Harkonnen arena fight scene.
As epic as its predecessor, Villeneuve’s sequel raises the bar with striking visuals. None is more jaw-dropping than Feyd-Rautha’s (Austin Butler) celebration sequence. The grand fight occurs early on in the film as the Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgard) and Lady Margot Fenring (Lea Seydoux) join the inhabitants of Giedi Prime to watch. It was up to cinematographer Greig Fraser who shot the sequence on black-and-white infrared to deliver Villeneuve’s vision.
Fraser was no stranger to using infrared lighting.
He had used it on 2012’s “Zero Dark Thirty” and 2016’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” “It’s the same light the security camera uses, and you don’t see it. So, my fascination with infrared started because our eyes can’t see it,...

One of the most notable features in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two is the black-and-white aesthetics used in Austin Butler’s scenes. While viewers may assume this is another stylistic choice to amplify the ruthlessness of the Giedi Prime and its inhabitants, there is actually a deeper, more complex meaning.
Austin Butler in Dune: Part Two
The movie franchise never fails to impress the audience with its brilliant cinematography and spectacular views amid its wild and unforgiving terrains. The monochromatic palette of the Giedi Prime serves as a contrast to the arid landscapes of Arrakis.

Stellan Skarsgård revealed to Business Insider that he spent eight hours in the makeup chair in order to transform into the villainous Baron Vladimir Harkonnen for “Dune: Part Two.” That might seem like an awful experience to some, but for Skarsgård it’s preferred to relying on any kind of VFX for transforming into his characters.
“It was painful, but it was worth it,” Skarsgård said. “We wanted him to be so well defined as an image that he made an imprint on people just by showing up on the screen. And that imprint should last throughout the film without having him show up all the time.”
Per Business Insider: “He recalled a similar instance almost two decades ago when he played the barnacle-covered Bootstrap Bill in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise. When it came time to choose between wearing prosthetics or simply doing his scenes with motion-capture dots on his face,...

"Dune" brought us the pale and terrifying villains of House Harkonnen. The enormous, pale, floating Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård) leads the house that stands in stark opposition to House Atreides, putting him in direct conflict with the surviving Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), who is seeking to strike back in the wake of his father's death and the fall of his family's power. Standing alongside the Baron is the savage Glossu "The Beast" Rabban (Dave Bautista), the Baron's nephew who has something to prove in "Dune: Part Two" after failing House Harkonnen in quite a humiliating fashion. That's why the Baron calls upon Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen (Austin Butler), another nephew who may have the ferocious, sadistic warrior's instinct required to keep Paul Atreides from becoming the revolutionary leader who threatens their stronghold in the "Dune" universe.
