Clearly, President Donald Trump isn’t watching Jemele Hill and Michael Smith’s “SC6” — but that doesn’t mean that nobody is or that the network’s ratings have “tanked” since they took over the 6 p.m. time slot in February. According to the most-recent quarter, the rebranded “SC6” is actually up a hair under 1 percent year over year in cable’s key adults 25-54 demographic, with an average of 233,000 viewers versus 231,000. Last year, a regular live “SportsCenter” owned the comparable hour. In terms of total viewers, however, 6 o’clock is down 2,000 audience members, which effectively makes the rebranded hour materially flat.

Espn’s decision to suspend Jemele Hill after she called for a boycott of Dallas Cowboys’ advertisers isn’t playing well in some social media circles. Support for Hill has spread beyond her “SC6” co-anchor Michael Smith, who is sitting out this evening’s telecast in what we’re told is a “mutual decision” with the network. Smith will return for tomorrow’s show, TheWrap is told, while Hill has two weeks to think about her next tweet. Below are just a handful of Twitter users calling out the Disney-owned sports network for benching its “SportsCenter” anchor. Also Read: Michael Smith...

Forget Jemele Hill, even Michael Smith won’t be anchoring Espn’s “SC6” tonight, which is the 6 o’clock edition of “SportsCenter.” The male anchor’s decision was a “mutual” one between he and the network, TheWrap is told. Smith’s co-host Hill was suspended for two weeks today for a second violation of Espn’s social media policy. The duo is pictured above on the set of their old Espn show, “His & Hers.” The “His” of that former debate program will return for Tuesday’s “SC6,” we’re told. Espn is sending Jemele Hill to the bench: The SportsCenter anchor has been suspended for two weeks for violating the network’s social-media guidelines.
The violation stems from a series of tweets Hill sent on Sunday advocating a boycott of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys after owner Jerry Jones said he wouldn’t tolerate his team’s players not standing for the national anthem:
Don't ask Dak, Dez & other Cowboys players to protest. A more powerful statement is if you stop watching and buying their merchandise.

Or, how about not patronizing the advertisers who support the Cowboys?...

Sarah Huckabee Sanders wants Jemele Hill fired — and she’s not alone. Espn is currently being called out in certain blogs and among many social media users for not punishing the “SC6” anchor, who recently went on a Twitter rant against President Trump. Hill went as far as to call the Potus a “white supremacist,” among other very unflattering things. She also fired shots at Trump’s cabinet and supporters, so imagine how well all that went over on Twitter. For its part, the “Worldwide Leader in Sports” merely slapped Michael Smith’s “SportsCenter” partner on the wrist, releasing the following statement on Tuesday: Espn.

Any fan of Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. (aka Lil Wayne), his punch-line peppered raps, Espn The Magazine and/or Around the Horn knows the Grammy Award-winning hip-hop superstar loves him some sports. Lil Wayne’s had a column in Entertainment and Sports Programming Network’s online version of its print publication since 2008 and talked sports shop with notable writers Michael Smith and Woody Paige courtesy of Tony Reali back in early 2009. When Wayne began a temporary eight-month stay at Rikers Island in early 2010 courtesy of pleading guilty to a gun possession charge, he passed the time by blogging about sports. Now, Lil Wayne is putting that passion for professional athletics, a recent penchant for odd behavior, and a seeming want to not rap into video form. He released Weezy’s Sports Corner on December 24 with producer/friend Derick G. The program features the Young Money president on a couch, surrounded...
