Lionsgate release trailer for psychological thriller/horror from visionary director Alexandre Aja ‘Never Let Go.’
As an Evil takes over the world beyond their front doorstep, the only protection for a mother, played by Halle Berry, and her twin sons is their house and their family’s protective bond. Needing to stay connected at all times – even tethering themselves with ropes – they cling to one another, urging each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the ties that bind them together are severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival.
Directed by Alexandre Aja, the cast includes Halle Berry, Percy Daggs, Anthony B. Jenkins.

Halle Berry can’t let go of psychological thrillers.
The Oscar winner turned up in Las Vegas on Wednesday during Lionsgate’s studio presentation to promote its new film, Alexandre Aja’s Never Let Go, which brings Berry back into a genre she explored more than 20 years ago, in earlier work like Gothika. But this one pushed her to new limits.
Set for release on Sept. 27, Never Let Go centers on a mother and her twin sons as they try to protect themselves from evil lurking in and around their home. Needing to stay connected at all times — always by a connection of ropes — they hold tight to one another and never let go. However, one of the boys questions if the evil is real, triggering a terrifying fight for survival. Anthony B. Jenkins, Percy Daggs, Matthew Kevin Anderson, Christin Park and Stephanie Lavigne also star.

Lionsgate has adjusted release dates for such high-profile titles as The Crow and Saw XI ahead of the company’s CinemaCon presentation.
The Crow is set for release on Aug. 23 after having previously been dated for June 7. Rupert Sanders’ feature reboot that stars Bill Skarsgard will now compete on that weekend with Amazon MGM Studios’ thriller Blink Twice and Sony Pictures’ faith-based The Forge.
Lionsgate has also moved Saw XI to Sept. 26, 2025, from its previously planned release on Sept. 27, 2024. The franchise is giving a bit of space to the new film after the success of its critically praised Saw X, which hit theaters in September and surpassed $110 million globally.

Is anyone else in the mood for some gumbo?
Christmas on Lifetime is all about finding love, but the best stories are usually about a second chance at love.
Christmas in Louisiana was another cute second-chance at love story. Approximately ten minutes into the movie, all one could say is: "just kiss already!"
Sarah and Luke were cute. They were both single. They both had feelings for each other. What is the deal, people?!
Sarah getting in her own way is the only reason this movie had to drag on for two hours.
Well, that and the simple fact that Christmas in Louisiana gave Percy Daggs III more screentime in less than two hours than he had in all four seasons of Veronica Mars and the movie.
Yeah, I said it.
The primary lesson to glean from this movie is always listen to Gran.
Gran has years of wisdom and no filter.

Mild spoilers for the Veronica Mars revival ahead!
The Veronica Mars revival on Hulu reunites us with nearly all of the original cast of characters, bringing back the faves we haven't seen in years and seeing what they've been up to. Of course, it wouldn't be Veronica Mars without Wallace Fennel, Veronica's trusty, loyal, take-no-crap best friend. Never fear: actor Percy Daggs III returns for season four, bringing Wallace back when Veronica needs him the most.
When we rejoin him in the revival series, Veronica's longtime bestie has turned out to have one of the most stable lives out of the entire main cast. He's still coaching basketball at their alma mater, Neptune High, and by the time the revival starts up, he's happily married and has a baby son. The friends are still close, as the first episode shows Veronica going to dinner at Wallace's house and hanging out with his family.

Surprise, Marshmallows! Trust “Veronica Mars” to do the unexpected.
The former Upn/The CW teen noir detective series defied cancellation, and much like the Ironborn on “Game of Thrones,” proved that what is dead may never die. First came the revival movie that Kickstarter funded in 2014, and then Hulu entered the fray by ordering a revival series that was supposed to premiere on July 26 … except that the series is now actually dropping a week early.
Kristen Bell dropped that bombshell at the Comic-Con panel for the Hulu revival on Friday. Both shock and then elation rippled through the audience as they digested the news. Joining Bell in celebrating the bold release plan were co-stars Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, Ryan Hansen, Francis Capra, Percy Daggs III, and executive producers Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Rob Thomas.
The panel ended at 12:45 p.m. Pt, which is when all eight episodes of the season were released for bingeing immediately.

It feels like we're opening the door to old friends at the start of the Veronica Mars revival.
As networks around the world compete to capture lightning in a bottle, many of them are hoping to do it twice (or even more if we include film) with revivals and reboots.
But the longer a show has gestated in our good graces, the more difficult it becomes to burst through with a fresh perspective on well-known characters.
The Hulu series marks the third time Veronica Mars has defied the odds.
First, it was one of the series that made the leap from Upn to The CW when it was born laying to waste The WB and Upn. Then through the magic of crowdfunding, Veronica Mars the movie catered to fans everywhere by bringing her ten-year high school reunion to the big screen.

After three seasons on broadcast television in the mid-aughts, followed by a fan-funded feature film, “Veronica Mars” is heading to Hulu with an eight-episode standalone season and, most importantly, a new mystery.
“I don’t want it to be a nostalgia show,” creator Rob Thomas tells Variety. “Kristen [Bell] says she would do it until it’s ‘Murder, She Wrote,’ and my feeling is for us to survive in that way, more and more episodes have to be about the mystery — about Veronica as a detective — and less of the soap opera personal life.”
Thomas and Bell both say they consider this new season of the series to be only the midpoint for the story they have to tell about the titular former teen private investigator (played by Bell) who now works alongside her father Keith (Enrico Colantoni) in a much more official capacity.
“I think of this as the bridge...

“Veronica Mars” was a slap to the face of high school dramas when it premiered on Upn in 2004. Creator Rob Thomas took the well-worn “who killed the pretty teenager?” whodunnit and hard-boiled it, following a traumatized girl desperately trying to harden herself to the world’s harsh realities as she tried to solve the case. As a heroine, Veronica (an immediately magnetic Kristen Bell) is typically pretty and blonde, but also deeply cynical, furious, and stubborn to a fault. Between trying to reconcile the facts of her best friend’s murder and her own sexual assault, Veronica Mars — a name her friends and enemies alike tend to say in full, such is her outsized stature — spent her evening hours doing stakeouts with a taser in her purse. Outside Veronica herself, the series also took an unflinching look at the inherently imbalanced power dynamics of “a town without a middle class...

Be careful what you wish for, Marshmallows.
“Veronica Mars” is back yet again with the detective series’ second revival, thanks to Hulu. But it’s been 12 years since creator Rob Thomas’ original series ended and five years since the Kickstarter-funded sequel film. As such, the plucky teenage P.I. has grown, and so have the stakes. “Veronica Mars” has dealt with grim subject matter before – it all began with the murder of a teenage girl, after all – but this new eight-episode limited series that serves as a fourth season is far darker and more melancholy.
Even Chrissie Hynde’s new cover of the Dandy Warhol’s original theme song feels extra poignant and haunting as she sings:
A long time ago we used to be friends,
But I haven’t thought of you lately at all.
But it’s not all nostalgia and remorse. “Veronica Mars” has always been a helluva good time,...

Ever since the Veronica Mars revival was announced, many of us marshmallows have been thinking about one thing:
What brings Logan back into the Neptune orbit?
Well, it seems like Logan is still working away in territories away from the United States of America, but he does return for a visit with Veronica, and the pair waste no time in giving into temptation.
However, there's trouble in paradise for them.

"So, what's the destructive gene in your relationship?," newcomer Kirby Howell-Baptiste, who plays Nicole asks Veronica.
“I think it might be me?” our titular hero responds.
While there may be some trouble for this couple, there's trouble brewing that is above their relationship.
Multiple explosions are peppered throughout the trailer, proving that this new case is not going to be an easy one.

Veronica Mars fans, prepare yourselves for a summer of LoVe.
The latest trailer for Hulu’s upcoming revival of the detective drama has more Logan/Veronica (aka “LoVe”) content than we’ve previously gotten, and we’re about to go cruising in a yellow XTerra just to celebrate.
In the video, Kristen Bell’s titular sleuth and her sometime boyfriend seem to be meeting up after a long time apart; Jason Dohring’s Logan informs her that he’s “back for extended leave” from the Navy — to which he returned at the end of the series’ 2014 film — though we don’t find out exactly why.

Ever since the Veronica Mars revival was ordered at Hulu, there has been one name ominously missing from the cast.
Yes, we're talking about Tina Majorino here!
Majorino was last seen in the 2014 movie of Veronica Mars, but we have some bad news for fans holding out hope that she could pop up as Mac during the eight-episode limited series.

Series creator Rob Thomas confirmed at the Atx Television Festival that Majorino will definitely not be making a surprise appearance.
"We would have loved to have Tina Majorino," he said.
"She had other commitments. That was a shame. We adore her. We would have loved to have had her in it."
It's good to know that Majorino is busy with other projects, but it's a little disheartening that we won't get a glimpse of what Mac is like in 2019.

Good news Marshmallows! The first three seasons of “Veronica Mars” are coming to Hulu, and they’ll be there three weeks before the eight-episode revival premieres.
Hulu said on Saturday that the first three season of the Upn/CW series — 64 episodes in total — will be available to stream beginning July 1. This does not include the 2014 feature film, which is still available on HBO Go and HBO Now.
That means that viewers will have 25 days to get caught up — or reacquainted — with the Kristen Bell-led series before it comes back with new episodes on Friday, July 26.

The “Marshmallows” came out to a packed Paramount Theatre for a conversation with Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and cast members Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring and Percy Daggs III. But before they stepped out on to the stage to talk about the revival on Hulu (all eight episodes will drop July 26 while Thomas revealed all three seasons will be available on July 1), the crowd squealed with delight when an exclusive clip was shown.
The clip brought us back to series setting in Neptune, California, with the witty banter between Veronica (Kristen Bell) and Keith (Colantoni) — with the ironic use of millennial slang. There was also a gratuitous shirtless Speedo scene with Logan (Dohring) emerging from the water with a surfboard, which made the audience drool. An exchange between Veronica and Logan is really racy — in other words, lots of sex talk. Needless to say, the generous scene was quite adult because,...

Hulu has released a new trailer for the upcoming Veronica Mars revival series, and it gives us our best look yet at what we can expect from the story. In this next chapter of the series, Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) finds herself investigating a mysterious crime wave that involves explosions and murders in her hometown of Neptune, California.
Here’s the synopsis for the series:
Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the family of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.

Hey Marshmallows, we have a treat for you!
Hulu has dropped the first official trailer for Veronica Mars Season 4, and the titular heroine kicks some major butt.
It's been five years since the fan-funded movie, and it looks like things in Neptune are downright gnarly.
"When your best friend is murdered before your 17th birthday, you don't develop a keen sense of mercy," Veronica says in a voiceover as a man attempts to rob her.
With her signature wit, Veronica takes the man down and takes a picture for Instagram to let everyone know what he looks like.

While the big mystery of the revival focuses on Spring Breakers being murdered, Veronica is poised to get herself into a lot of trouble as the layers are peeled back on what's going on.
The good news for longtime fans is that Veronica and Logan are still very much on.

It is a good morning indeed, Marshmallows, as Hulu just dropped the teaser for the “Veronica Mars” revival during its upfront event in New York.
The 1-minute clip shows the return of Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars herself and many other familiar (Logan!) and new faces (Patton Oswalt and J.K. Simmons’ characters) to the fictional seaside town of Neptune, California. And while everything seems happy at first, with tourists enjoying some fun in the sun as the small town celebrates spring break — Veronica is in for a different kind of blast, literally. Yes, bombs are going off left and right and everyone’s favorite P.I. needs to get to the bottom of it before it’s too late. Don’t worry, she still finds time to get cozy with Logan (Jason Dohring).

Mary McDonnell is making her way back to the small screen!
TV Line is reporting that the former star of Major Crimes will appear on Hulu's upcoming revival of Veronica Mars.
She's on board to play the role of Jane, who is described as a "warm-hearted therapist."
There are no other details about the character at this stage, but still, it's great news to know that McDonnell is returning to the small screen.

It will be a guest-starring role, but it has yet to be confirmed just how many episodes McDonnell will appear in.
Mary is probably most well-known for her starring role on TNT's Major Crimes, which wrapped after six seasons in January 2018.
The show was beloved by fans, but it was a casualty of a change in focus for the cabler's scripted series, and many fans were left unsatisfied with the ending.

It looks like someone in Neptune is about to get his/her head shrunk, courtesy of one Mary McDonnell.
TVLine has learned exclusively that the Battlestar Gallactica and Major Crimes vet is set to guest star in Hulu’s forthcoming Veronica Mars revival as Jane, a warm-hearted therapist.
A Hulu rep confirmed McDonnell’s casting, but declined to reveal the length of her stay or who — if anyone — her therapist character will be treating. (For those wondering, yes, this is the Veronica Mars tidbit I teased in my latest Ask Ausiello column.)

Hold on to your hairdos: Hulu’s upcoming Veronica Mars revival will contain an appearance by notorious Hearst rapist Mercer Hayes.
TVLine has confirmed that Ryan Devlin, who played the hair-snipping villain, will be part of the eight-episode limited series set to launch later this year.
Fans of the series will remember Mercer as the college-radio DJ/illegal casino svengali whom Veronica revealed as a serial rapist in Season 3. (Remember how he kept the locks of the women he’d violated? Shudder.) The last time we saw him, in “Spit & Eggs,” Mercer and accomplice Moe Flater were about to receive a behind-bars beat-down from Logan,...

If there's one thing we know about the upcoming Veronica Mars revival, it's that the powers that be want as many cast members from the originals series to return in some capacity.
The latest addition to the cast is Ken Marino, who played Vinnie Van Lowe in ten episodes between 2005-07, before returning for the 2014 movie sequel.
Veronica Mars creator, Rob Thomas confirmed the news via Twitter, while The Wrap is reporting that Marino is on board for three episodes.
Marino joins a returning cast that already includes Kristen Bell (Veronica), Enrico Colantoni (Keith) Jason Dohring (Logan), Percy Daggs III (Wallace Fennel), Francis Capra (Weevil), Ryan Hansen (Dick Casablancas), Max Greenfield (Leo D'Amato), David Starzyk (Richard Casablancas), and Adam Rose (Max).
