Tool are notorious for taking their sweet time between albums, especially the 13 years between 2006’s 10,000 Days and 2019’s Fear Inoculum. Now, even singer Maynard James Keenan is insisting that the band can’t wait that long to put out the next one.
“Tool is a more complicated beast with a lot of egos and a lot of other things going on in our lives,” Keenan told Metal Hammer in a new interview. “But all the creativity’s there, the songs and the ideas can flow and the arguments ensue.”

He continued, “As soon as we get past the arguments, we can get shit done! [Laughs] I think we could do it more efficiently. And I think everyone’s on the same page that we have to get through that, because we can’t drag this out another 14 years.”

The evening kicked off with three A Perfect Circle songs, followed by four Primus cuts and three Puscifer numbers, and continued to rotate from there.
Highlights included Keenan singing on Primus’ “Tommy the Cat,” Primus drummer Tim Alexander sitting in on A Perfect Circle’s “The Hollow,” and Primus frontman Les Claypool jamming on the set-closing Puscifer song “Grand Canyon.”
The bands also debuted all three songs from their Sessanta E.P.P.P., a newly released EP featuring new tracks from each act.

Farce has played a significant role in the history of "Frasier," despite the sitcom being renowned for its more sophisticated comedy. Somehow, putting Kelsey Grammer's pompous yet lovable Dr. Crane at the center of some ridiculous hijinks served only to highlight how absurd a figure he could be rather than undermining the otherwise highbrow humor of the series. Farce proved a worthy technique for knocking both Frasier and often his brother, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) off their high horses in particularly hilarious fashion.
It's not surprising, then, that farcical episodes are among the series best, from the famous Ski Lodge episode in season five to the dead seal episode, which was inspired by real events. But it took some time for the series to develop its unique spin on the genre. During the inaugural season of the show, which aired all the way back in 1993, the writers didn't attempt a single farce.

Josh Freese is rejoining A Perfect Circle for the band’s upcoming run on the “Sessanta Tour.” The outing will mark the first time the drummer will tour with Apc in 13 years.
The “Sessanta Tour” celebrates A Perfect Circle singer Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday, and will also feature another one of his bands, Puscifer, as well as Primus. The outing — which will see all three bands sharing the stage as they rotate between their various songs — kicks off April 2nd in Boston, with tickets available here.
Freese, who is now a member of Foo Fighters, will appear at all shows through April 20th at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. After that, he will jump off the tour due to his commitments with the Foos. Puscifer’s Gunnar Olsen will take over behind the kit for the rest of the jaunt, which wraps up May 4th in Queens,...

English band Broadcast will release two new demo collections in 2024: Spell Blanket – Collected Demos 2006-2009 (out May 3rd) and Distant Call – Collected Demos 2000-2006 (out September 28th).
Broadcast, the electronic dream pop project of James Cargill and Trish Keenan, who died of pneumonia in 2011, previously reissued their entire discography in 2015. Now, Cargill is unearthing dozens of demos collected over a 10-year span. According to a press release, Spell Blanket comprises of “songs and sketches” from Trish’s “extensive archive of 4-track tapes and MiniDiscs” that would have eventually served as Broadcast’s fifth album.
Distant Call, on the other hand, comprises of early demos that eventually would appear on their albums Haha Sound, Tender Buttons, and The Future Crayon. The album also features “Come Back To Me” and “Please Call To Book,” two songs that Cargill discovered after Keenan’s death. The latter song was Keenan’s entry for...

TikTok‘s leadership team is stepping up to ensure that the company makes progress in its trust and safety division. A reorganization will install Head of Operations Adam Presser as the overseer of the unit that has received scrutiny from regulators in the U.S. and abroad.
As reported by The Information, TikTok’s executive shuffle will give it more control over its trust and safety operations. Previously, that department was led by Erich Andersen, the general counsel for TikTok parent ByteDance. Presser, who took over as the leader of TikTok ops after the departure of former COO V Pappas, reports to TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew rather than ByteDance CEO Rubo Liang.
After Presser’s promotion from Chief of Staff to Head of Operations, he instituted changes in his department. A reorg announced last year looked to make TikTok’s ops more efficient as the app seeks partnerships with creators,...

A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and Failure have announced a joint live album, Cinquanta, recorded during a 2014 show celebrating the 50th birthday of Maynard James Keenan.
A known prankster, Maynard took the opportunity to grace us with some truly, um, noteworthy artwork, appearing as an adult baby — diaper and all — on the cover of the live album. Puscifer have had some ridiculous sleeves over the years, but this might be the most outrageous one yet.
Presented as a double album, the actual recordings were culled from a performance on May 10th, 2014, at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles when Puscifer, A Perfect Circle, and Failure shared the stage to celebrate Keenan’s 50th. Cinquanta is set to release on March 22nd on vinyl (in multiple colorways) and CD, but online pre-orders appear to already be sold out, so you’ll have to check with your local record store (per Puscifer’s Linktree).
