And you thought waiting for the back half of a “Stranger Things” season was agonizing. Netflix is splitting the final season of “Cobra Kai,” Season 6, into three parts.
You read that right. Though it has become commonplace for Netflix to divide new seasons of its biggest hits into two parts, this is the first time the streamer has split a season (of any series) into thirds. The next-up example of a hit Netflix original being halved is mere weeks away. The eight-episode “Bridgerton” Season 3 will premiere the first four on May 16 and the back half on June 13.

Peter Ramsey, Caleeb Pinkett Producing Live-Action Feature Adaptation Of Comic Book ‘The Storm Clan’
Exclusive: Academy Award winner Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and former Overbook head Caleeb Pinkett (Cobra Kai) are set to produce a live-action feature adaptation of The Storm Clan, the comic book created by Dallas Jackson and Joe Casey, which marks the first title from Jackson’s new company DJ Classicz Comix.
Jackson and Casey will pen the script, with former Lionsgate exec Jorge Alfaro to serve as an EP.
A sci-fi action adventure story, The Storm Clan watches as an ex-military weapons engineer trains his five adopted children to be undercover hi-tech/martial-arts thieves wearing an invincible bionic-body armor. Previously orphaned, the teenagers gifted with bionic technology see it provide them with the opportunity to protect themselves from the threats of the streets, also empowering them to take advantage of life instead of being taken advantage of, and most importantly, giving them comfort and sense of belonging within a family.

The show is celebrating by releasing a video that commences the production of the final season, with the cast trying their best to contain their excitement and not give away any spoilers.

‘Cobra Kai’ Season 5 Teaser: Johnny Lawrence Front-Kicks Through a Surfboard as We Get Premiere Date
You officially have four months to pick up that karate gi from the dry cleaner. “Cobra Kai” Season 5 is set to premiere on Netflix on September 9, fans learned Thursday during Night 7 of the 2022 “Netflix Is a Joke” festival. We get no John Kreese (Martin Kove) in the teaser, because, well, he’s in jail. But with Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) — the guy who put him there — still in town, there is plenty of kicking-based violence.

Move over “Sunday Night” football jam. Carrie Underwood has a new rock song to belt — this one on streaming.
The former “American Idol,” who sings the theme to NBC’s “Sunday Night” NFL game each week, made a surprise appearance performing Survivor’s “The Moment of Truth” in the recently released fourth season of “Cobra Kai” on Netflix. Underwood covered the song, which appeared in the first “Karate Kid” movie, at the All Valley Karate Tournament featured in the two-part season finale.
“I grew up watching Daniel and Johnny, and I can’t believe I actually get to be a small part of the legacy that is the ‘Karate Kid,'” Underwood said in a statement. “Once I discovered ‘Cobra Kai’ a few years ago, it became one of my favorite shows! I had so much fun being on the set and singing such a classic song. I cannot wait to watch every new episode!

Just a few years ago, in 2015, Reinaldo Marcus Green was a grad student at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, angling for extra time with his professor — Spike Lee. Flash-forward six years: Marcus Green has directed one of the best-reviewed dramas of 2021 — “King Richard,” starring Will Smith as Richard Williams, the father of tennis champs Venus (Saniyya Sidney) and Serena (Demi Singleton). And Lee is more than happy to set aside some time to talk with his star pupil over Zoom.
“I want to have the kind of staying power that Spike has,” Green says to Lee, noting the “Do the Right Thing” director’s influence over his career. “You graduated in 1982. I was born in ’81. I got some years to catch up, Spike, but I’m working on it.” In a candid conversation demonstrating their ongoing mentor-mentee relationship, the two filmmakers discuss the importance of showcasing Black families (and saluting Black mothers) on-screen.

Netflix on Thursday dropped the official trailer for Cobra Kai Season 4 and features a lot of foreshadowing.
The Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang are training for the tournament that should end the feud dating back to the 1980s.
The clip also teased the return of Silver, who was last seen on The Karate Kid III.
Thomas Ian Griffith is headed back to the universe, and no, it's not a good thing for the characters we like.
“The only other person who knows how to teach Cobra Kai is you," Kreese tells the villain.
We also get a glimpse of Robby teaching the new group the Miyagi Do way.
"To beat the enemy, it helps to know the enemy’s playbook,” he says.

Netflix debuted a trailer for Season 4 of “Cobra Kai,” which premieres on Dec. 31.
The series takes place more than 30 years after the events of the 1984 film “The Karate Kid,” which culminated in Daniel Larusso’s (Ralph Macchio) triumph against Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) at the All Valley Karate Tournament. Their rivalry lasts throughout the decades, but in Season 4, Daniel’s Miyagi-Do and Johnny’s Eagle Fang dojos join forces to take down the Cobra Kai dojo led by their enemy John Kreese (Martin Kove) at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament.
“If Johnny and I can actually work together and we win, Cobra Kai will be out of business,” Daniel says to his wife Amanda (Courtney Henggeler) in the trailer, which you can watch below.
“You gotta take things to the next level,” Johnny says to his students. “Eagles do not respond. They swoop down and take whatever they want.

The fairy tale version of the story behind “King Richard” goes like this: Jada Pinkett Smith was on the U.S. Dramatic Competition jury for the 2018 Sundance Film Festival when she saw director Reinaldo Marcus Green’s first feature, “Monsters and Men.” The tough but ultimately rousing look at police brutality and communal activism left her impressed enough to bring the movie to the attention of her husband, Aka Will Smith. The actor, in turn, was on the hunt for the right director to take on “King Richard,” the story of Venus and Serena Williams’ devoted father, with Smith’s Westbrook Inc. attached to produce. Green seemed like the perfect fit.
Cut to three years later, and bingo — “King Richard” launched with a bang at the Telluride Film Festival, where the Warner Bros. production became an instant Oscar contender, with Smith’s empathetic performance as a flawed but passionate patriarch hailed as his best yet.

The series also stars Courtney Henggeler, Tanner Buchannan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand,...

The fourth season of “Cobra Kai” will premiere in December on Netflix.
“Fasten your gi, tighten your belt. Karate is coming to the world’s biggest stage,” the voiceover in a teaser for Season 4 of the Emmy-nominated comedy series says.
While the teaser is referring to the All Valley Karate Tournament, technically the show itself has already brought karate to one of the largest global stages in Netflix.
(“Cobra Kai,” which is a continuation of the beloved 1980s “Karate Kid” franchise, originally premiered in 2018 as a part of YouTube Premium’s lineup. When that service got out of the originals game, Netflix acquired the first two seasons as library content and then greenlit third and fourth seasons anew.)
Everyone’s favorite long-time rivals Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawence (William Zabka) are featured in the teaser, along with John Kreese (Martin Kove) and younger blood including Miguel (Xolo Maridueña...

Netflix has finally revealed some sort of timing for “Cobra Kai” Season 4. Don’t make too many plans just yet for December — and yes, we’re including the holidays in that. Can’t be too careful.
We still don’t have an actual date for “Cobra Kai IV,” but we’ve got a new teaser. Watch that via the video above.
“Cobra Kai” Season 4, which will see Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) return to the titular dojo, has been in the can since late spring.
In “Karate Kid III,” Silver is introduced as the man who started the “Cobra Kai” dojo with John Kreese (Martin Kove). Silver is even more nuts than Kreese, and goes from being Daniel-san’s sensei to his adversary. Watch the Silver-return teaser here.
“Since the beginning of the series, we’ve been carefully orchestrating the right moment to unleash Cobra Kai dojo co-founder Terry Silver back into the universe.

JoJo Siwa, the 18-year-old internet sensation who came out in January, will soon star in the movie “Bounce,” an adaptation of Megan Shull’s popular young adult novel of the same name. If Paramount Players gives “Bounce” the greenlight, it would begin filming in the fall for a 2022 release. But in a recent Entertainment Weekly cover story, Siwa made headlines by saying that she doesn’t want to have a kissing scene with a male character in it: “I’m madly in love and I do not want to kiss another human,” she told the magazine. “Especially because it’s a man.”
She continued vehemently, according to EW: “I’m not about it. I’m trying to get it pulled so bad. It’ll happen. It’ll get pulled.”
It didn’t take long for Siwa to get her desired result: A source close to the movie has told Variety...

On Thursday morning, Netflix revealed that Thomas Ian Griffith will reprise his role of “Karate Kid III” villain Terry Silver on Season 4 of “Cobra Kai.” Hours later, we asked star, executive producer and formerly (movie) brainwashed student of Sensei Silver Ralph Macchio to talk about the “Karate Kid” prequel series’ latest throwback casting.
“One thing we’ve done is we’ve really talked through the arcs and how to not give too much at once. Keep those Easter eggs just carefully placed, keep those O.G. guest stars peppered at the right time to propel the story in the an organic way,” Macchio told TheWrap, referencing his character’s Season 3 return to Okinawa, Japan, where he bumped into some friends and former foes from the movie sequel days.
“They’ve always had that in the crosshairs: when to bring Terry Silver back and in what capacity. And how he plays...

Terry Silver is back. There has been speculation about the return of The Karate Kid III baddie, played by Thomas Ian Griffith, since the Season 3 finale. Now Netflix has confirmed Silver will return for Season 4.
“Since the beginning of the series, we’ve been carefully orchestrating the right moment to unleash Cobra Kai dojo co-founder Terry Silver back into the universe. That moment is now. We can’t wait for the whole world to experience Thomas Ian Griffith’s majestic return to the franchise,” said executive producers/writers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.
In a new teaser above, with his back to the camera, a pony-tailed Griffith stands in darkness as voice-overs play in the background. “If a man can’t stand, he can’t fight. If a man can’t breathe, he can’t fight. If a man can’t see, he can’t fight. Extreme situations require extreme measures.
