NCIS star Mark Harmon and his partner Michael Weatherly were able to dig deep into their characters on a special NCIS episode. But Weatherly quipped that the best part about the occasion was getting rough with Harmon.

Weatherly and Harmon were both allowed to get pretty physical with each other as their NCIS characters. In one of the show’s episodes “Baltimore,” the series took a step backwards to explore the history of Weatherly’s Tony Dinozzo. The series was already in its eighth season back then, so Harmon felt NCIS put in enough legwork over the years to explore characters’ backstories.
“By the time we started doing flashbacks, which was a number of years in, we’d earned it. Certainly as an actor you have more to grip on to,” Harmon once told TV Guide.

Mark Harmon has often spoken about his pleasant experience working alongside the NCIS cast. But his co-star Michael Weatherly always felt he didn’t have as much fun as the rest of his teammates. It wasn’t until Weatherly left the series that he understood why.

Weatherly has been very open about his growing and changing relationship with Harmon. Although the two have grown close over the years, Weatherly felt the two were polar opposites when they met. It took a while for the two NCIS stars to get on common ground.
“I was Antarctica, he was the North Pole and we was just looking down there going ‘what is up with your polarity? What’s going on? The water goes down the drain the other way for me,...

It was the “worst first,” showrunner Sierra Teller Ornelas told TheWrap. “Rutherford Falls,” her sitcom about two friends at a crossroads, was the first Native American television show run by a Native person. But after Peacock canceled it last year after two seasons, she became “the first Native American to have their show canceled,” she said.
Along with Hulu’s “Reservation Dogs,” “Rutherford Falls” spearheaded a wave of Native TV shows at least partly created and written by Native creatives following decades of Indigenous invisibility and crude stereotypes.
That wave also includes Netflix’s “Spirit Rangers,” an animated fantasy series for preschoolers about three Native American siblings who can turn into animal spirits, and A&e’s “Dark Winds,” an adaptation of Tony Hillerman’s bestselling series of thriller novels based on a Navajo reservation. Marvel’s forthcoming “Echo,” a “Hawkeye” spinoff on Disney+, is also a Native-themed show using Native writers.

Ten years ago, executive producer/creator/writer Mike Kelley rejuvenated the primetime soap opera with the ABC series Revenge. The serial drama, which debuted September 21, 2011, and quickly became a guilty pleasure, told the story of Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp), a former Hamptonite who returned to seek revenge against the wealthy Grayson family and their various hangers-on. Armed with a burning desire for justice, unlimited financial resources, and a pack of red Sharpies, Emily (born Amanda Clarke) eliminated individuals who had framed her father, David Clarke (James Tupper), for conspiring with the terrorists who brought down Flight 197, killing all 247 souls on board. Emily couldn’t account for every contingency, but the fun was watching her take control and remain two steps ahead of her adversaries—especially Victoria Grayson, played by the unparalleled Madeleine Stowe. A version of this story about Jana Schmieding first appeared in the Comedy & Drama Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
For years, Jana Schmieding was pretty sure of one thing: She wasn’t cut out for television. A Lakota Sioux comedian, writer and podcaster, she’d grown up in Oregon rarely seeing anybody like her on TV — and even when she tried pitching pilots about the community she’d come from, she got nowhere.
“I saw people on TV sometimes who looked like my ancestors,” she said. “Most of the time, indigenous folks on television or in film are relegated to what we call ‘feathers and leather.’ We’re trapped in the past, and there are very few contemporary (Native) television characters. I had to find people like me in characters like Darlene from ‘Roseanne,’ because she was the daughter of an overbearing mom.”
But now Schmieding is both...

Netflix has launched a new trailer for Amy Poehler’s female revolution uprising feature ‘Moxie’.
Vivian (Hadley Robinson), a seemingly shy 16-year-old, has always preferred to keep her head down and fly under the radar. But when the arrival of a new student (Alycia Pascual-Peña) forces her to examine the unchecked behaviour of her fellow students running rampant at her high school, Vivian realizes she’s fed up.
