Furkan Derbazlar
Furkan Derbazlar is a Turkish boxer and coach known for his achievements in the world of boxing. His interest and talent in boxing began when he joined a boxing course offered for free by the Municipality at Caferaga Sports Club in 2002. His talent and passion were noticed by others, leading him to transfer to Fenerbahçe Boxing Club.
Furkan went to Germany to continue his career and achieve national successes. From 2008 to 2013, he continued his career at Berlin Boxing Club, where he had the opportunity to develop himself. In Germany, he trained with some of the most prestigious German and Russian coaches, WBC, WBO, WBA champions, and athletes, which greatly contributed to his growth as a boxer.
Subsequently, he participated in numerous tournaments, became the State Champion in Germany, and later the National Champion, earning the chance to compete in European Championships. His first European appearance in the C Class Championships resulted in him becoming the European Champion, reaching the pinnacle of his career.
Taking another significant step in his journey, Furkan moved to a club in a different German state, where legends like Wladimir Klitschko trained, and he prepared for matches alongside former WBA champion, Youri Kalenga. He achieved remarkable success in various parts of the world, bringing national honors to himself and his country.
However, a serious shoulder injury during a championship marked the end of his competitive boxing career. Despite this setback, he stayed close to the boxing world and began coaching to share his knowledge and experience. At the training facility, he passed on his expertise, discipline, and ethics to young athletes, witnessing their physical and spiritual transformations, which deeply influenced him. This sparked a new passion in him: teaching people how to excel in high-level boxing training.
To further develop his coaching skills, he had the opportunity to receive training from English Olympic Champion and undefeated champion, Tony Jeffries. During this period, Furkan continued to achieve success by participating in private tournaments. However, he ultimately decided to focus on coaching due to demand, and he transformed into a national team coach and international coach with three branches, overseeing a prestigious combat sports club in Turkey that provides top-quality training.
Throughout his journey as a professional boxing coach, he worked with boxers from around the world and achieved significant international successes, becoming a prominent figure in Turkish boxing history as a coach. Derbazlar continues to lead a successful career as a respected athlete and instructor in the world of boxing.
