“It should be simple,” Jack Farrell says on the first page of Elephantmen #51. He’s referring to the grisly murder scene he’s standing over (“A Guy. A Girl. A Gun. Blood.”) but he could just as easily be talking about Richard Starkings’ Elephantmen series. What started out as a mascot for his lettering studio has turned into a grand tapestry of all different kinds of stories, all centered around Hip Flask, a genetically engineered human/hippopotamus hybrid, bred for war now earning a living pounding the streets as part of the police agency for creatures like himself. A gumshoe, if you will. Animals as detectives and policemen and businessmen. It sounds funny but Starkings isn’t writing stories but animals. And that’s what makes Elephantmen complicated because he’s writing about people and you can write any kind of story about people.

London, Sep 28: Singer Robbie Williams would be happy to model his own range of clothes, provided he does not put on weight.
The 37-year-old recently launched his own fashion range Farrell which is named after his grandfather Jack Farrell.
'Yeah I would consider catwalk shows but my weight goes up and down and I would have to feel confident about myself. This week I would but maybe next week I wouldn't. That's me and sugar,' dailystar.co.uk quoted Williams as saying.

Robbie Williams has taken up painting.
The singer has discovered his love of art since rejoining Take That last July, and has been spending his spare time when he's not busy with his bandmates, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange, creating his own canvases.
He wrote on his blog, "Hi all, I know it's been ages since you have heard anything from me. I have been flying round the world on promo with the Tt (Take That) lads and loving it ... amazing. In our down time ... which hasn't been much, i found I really liked painting - of course I then had to turn my whole garage into 'art club' and got all my la mates into it too. (sic)"
Robbie, 37, has big plans for his paintings, and is considering turning his creations into T-shirts.
The "Happy Now" singer's wife, actress Ayda Field, has even discovered her...
