Shobna Gulati has enlisted her Coronation Street co-stars to help provide a dream holiday for a young cancer sufferer. The actress, who plays Sunita Alahan on the ITV1 soap, has persuaded a string of her colleagues to perform at a fundraising event in Blackburn, Lancashire next month. All profits from the show, which is to feature music, dance and comedy, will go towards helping 5-year-old Madison Allan visit EuroDisney with her family. The youngster suffers aggressive neuroblastoma and is understood to have had repeated operations on a tumour. Tickets for the event reportedly sold out in just an hour after going on sale last week. Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has admitted that her character's wedding plans have received a mixed reaction from viewers. Fans of the ITV1 soap have seen the actress's alter ego Fiz Brown preparing to marry jailed John Stape (Graeme Hawley) in recent weeks. Her big moment, which takes place in a prison chapel, finally arrives in tonight's episodes. The 40-year-old, who quit her role as Cilla Battersby-Brown last year, has agreed to appear in the South Africa-set special.
