High West Distillery hosted annual Park City bash on Sunday.
Outgoing Sundance director John Cooper received a heartfelt tribute at the annual Brunch With The Brits event in Park City supported by British Film Commission, British Film Institute, BBC Films, Film4, and Screen International.
“Without Cooper we wouldn’t be here,” Lizzie Francke, senior development and production executive, BFI Film Fund, told more than 250 attendees at the traditional High West Distillery venue on Sunday (26).
“He has been an absolute inspiration and it’s particularly sad this year that he’s stepping down. We all wish him incredibly well. He’s reinvented this festival.

Before Jason Isaacs would talk about the Season 2 finale of “The Oa,” he made a request. “The problem with talking about a Netflix show is, unlike a TV show — which is broadcast on a Thursday night or whatever — there are many millions of people around the world who will be watching this next month, next year, in six months time,” he said. “So, only if you promise me that you have a big spoiler alert up there and you have to scroll down before you get to any of the text that reveals it, will I talk to you, because otherwise you’ll ruin it for the viewer.”
And this worried him because, “I want the audience’s mind to be blown as much as it was when I was first told what was gonna happen. I was reeling from it.”
Thus, per Mr. Isaacs’ request…

The actor, 49, on Lucius Malfoy, starting the day with handfuls of ibuprofen and tennis
Acting is a simple job, just hard to do. People tell funny stories about pretentious actors, but all that matters is the audience watches and they are not reminded that you are a strange, poncy person with make-up on.
My job is irrelevant to my kids. The only effect the Harry Potter films have is that sometimes weirdly life stops for a minute or two while Dad has to deal with someone who wants to talk to him. I'm not Lucius Malfoy, I'm their dad, and 99.99999% of their existence with me is nothing to do with work.
I still don't know what I'm going to do when I grow up. I look in the mirror and I'm horrified by how old I look, because I don't feel this old.
My wife and I could not have been more polar opposites.

The star of the BBC's Case Histories on being a reluctant sex symbol, his need to help people – and how he hopes Mel Gibson will find some peace
'I am not a sex symbol," says Jason Isaacs, fixing me with those dreamy blue eyes. Well, that's not what everybody else is saying. The Observer's Euan Ferguson wrote that Isaacs has "won his promotion to officially approved national lust object". He's apparently right up there with Colin Firth and Daniel Craig, thanks to his performance as soulful, damaged and yet stirringly buff private detective Jackson Brodie in BBC1's Case Histories, which concludes tonight.
Think of that moment in last night's episode when Brodie woke up in his hospital bed scarred, amnesiac and yet pleasingly barrel-chested after trying to drag a collapsed old lady out of her car that had crashed on to the Aberdeen-Edinburgh main line. You can stop now.
