Stephen Colbert took his turn commenting on the Donald Trump aide making headlines as the “human printer” during his Thursday night monologue. It began with him noting that the campaign had taken down a video with a headline about a “unified reich” under Trump, which they had said was posted by a junior staffer.
The New York Times reported this week that Natalie Harp is the person responsible, both helping to run his Truth Social social media account and supplying Trump with printouts containing “mood-boosting news” the former president is often seen reading from. Colbert noted that Harp carries a portable printer that lets her quickly produce hard copies of articles for Trump.
“When she really needs his attention, she prints those positive news [stories] right on a slice of bologna,” Colbert joked, before miming Trump reading the news, sniffing it and licking it. He also continued a run of meat-related...

Pacific Heights has mixed aspects of status culture, domestic and psychological thriller, giving us an intense, melodramatic, and juicy entry into one of the best subgenres. Add to that a surprisingly energetic directing style, alongside Michael Keaton going full psycho, and you get a decent early 90s Thriller. Today on Revisited, we head back to the 90s and dig into Lance Vlcek’s second entry into his Domestic Thriller Trilogy.

In Michael Showalter’s The Idea of You, it’s hard to miss the enchanting presence of the Tag Heuer Aquaracer. Far from being just an accessory, this timepiece plays a significant and symbolic role, effectively becoming a ‘third character’ in the movie. The film revolves around Solène (Anne Hathaway), a seasoned gallery owner, and Hayes (Nicholas Galitzine), a young pop star. Their unexpected romance unfolds amidst a whirlwind of complications and scrutiny. Considering that Alone season 8 was filmed when Covid hit, we might be lucky to have a season at all. In many ways, the eighth season of Alone was a step back. For one thing the show headed back to British Columbia, the site of three other seasons. Next, the prize amount dropped back to $500,000 Usd. Finally, there was a notable drop in the quality of contestant, as there were several who weren’t cut out for the show at all. Fans can definitely agree that Clay Hayes was a top-tier winner, whatever else can be said about the season. A

Kevin Costner arrived at the Cannes Film Festival surrounded by his children on Sunday night for the premiere of his new film Horizon: An American Saga. The appearance marked a rare reunion of the entire Costner family on the international stage, showcasing the close-knit bonds that have defined this Hollywood dynasty.
The Costner family looked elegant together as they walked the red carpet. Kevin, known for iconic movies like Dances with Wolves and Field of Dreams, led the way with his engaging presence.
His daughters Lily, Grace Avery and Annie looked beautiful in their dresses, and his sons Cayden Wyatt and Hayes looked dashing in their suits.
The family reunion on the French Riviera showed how close the Costners are, even though Kevin divorced his wife, Nicole Baumgartner, last year in an acrimonious divorce. He has worked hard to maintain strong bonds with all his children from his previous marriages.

You don’t have to be an expert on classic soul and R&b to recognize the American music monuments that emerged from Stax Records in the Sixties and Seventies. Sam & Dave’s “Soul Man,” Otis Redding’s “Respect” and “(Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay,” Isaac Hayes’ “Theme From Shaft,” and the Staple Singers’ “I’ll Take You There” — just a few of Stax’s greatest hits — made the case that the Memphis-based record company was the Southern version of Motown.
Whether anyone fully realizes that is another matter.

Yellowstone star Kevin Costner will return to the Western genre with his film series Horizon: An American Saga, the first part of which is set to arrive in theaters June 28. The first film in a planned four-arc installment premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival to an 11-minute 40-second standing ovation, which brought the actor to tears.
Costner, who stars in and directs the Western installments, has been wanting to bring this project to the screen since 1988 when he started dreaming it up. He cowrote it with Jon Baird. The Dances With Wolves star revealed that production has begun for the third film and that he has plans to make a fourth. Good luck to you and all who plod along dusty roads with you if the first chapter of Kevin Costner’s “Horizon: An American Saga” compels you to seek out the forthcoming second one. This Civil War-era, Old West expansion epic is a $100 million vanity project that finds the actor/filmmaker in familiar terrain, and with the gall to cast himself as an apparently swoon-inducing cowboy in a world where all the women are either ball busters, prostitutes, or profoundly stupid, and the men hayseeds or Great American Heroes.
Told across four interwoven tales in and around the territories that became Wyoming, Montana, and Kansas, “Horizon” gets its title from a fictional pioneer settlement in the 1860s that’s stomped out an Apache tribe now battling to get back their land. But their patted-on inclusion at all feels like a committee-driven, gun-to-the-head corrective rather than an organic necessity of the story.

Kevin Costner has been in the saddle long enough to know the difference between a big-screen feature Western like Dances With Wolves, a miniseries like Hatfields & McCoys or a longform like Yellowstone. All those projects have done well by him and he’s done well by them. His connection to the quintessential Americana genre and the rugged lands it calls home is indubitable. So why is his sprawling new frontier tale, Horizon: An American Saga, such a clumsy slog? It plays like a limited series overhauled as a movie, but more like a hasty rough cut than a release ready for any format.
Running a taxing three hours, this first part of a quartet of films is littered with inessential scenes and characters that go nowhere, taking far too long to connect its messy plot threads. Warner Bros. will release Chapter One in U.S. theaters June 28, with Chapter...

Kevin Costner‘s two-part western epic passion project is just over the horizon. The first part of Horizon: An American Saga premieres next month and Warner Bros. has just released the new official second trailer for the film. The Yellowstone actor has returned to the director’s seat for the first time in over twenty years for these films. Costner began work on this story in 1988 and he has more movies planned. The main character that he invented for this film in 1988 was so important to him that he even named his son, Hayes, after him. He hopes the movies can be a big franchise and that years from now, people can binge-watch hours of Horizon in theaters.
In addition to directing and starring in the two-film saga, Kevin Costner also produced the project and co-wrote the script alongside Jon Baird. “In the great tradition of Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic Westerns,...

[This story contains spoilers from Prime Video’s film The Idea Of You.]
In the new romantic movie The Idea of You, Nicholas Galitzine — playing Hayes Campbell, a One Direction-like lead singer of a boy band — falls hard for Anne Hathaway’s art gallery owner character, Solène.
Over the course of the new couple’s relationship ups and downs, a watch plays a surprisingly prominent role, becoming a major plot point in the film.
Early on, after Solène — a single mom who’s more than a decade older than Hayes — tells him, “I can’t do this. Because you’re you and I’m me and we just don’t fit,” the lovestruck singer surreptitiously leaves the watch he’s wearing on a table in her house before he departs. “We’ll see,” he says.
From there on out, the watch is sometimes worn by her (when things are going well) and then at other times by him (usually...

The biggest rising star of the moment, Nicholas Galitzine is everyone’s favorite, including his famous colleagues. Having recently starred in Starz’s unhinged historical drama show Mary & George alongside Julianne Moore, Galitzine never moved back to the shadows jumping straight to his other big release this year, Michael Showalter’s romcom The Idea of You with Anne Hathaway in the leading role.
While still promoting Prime Video’s new hit, the actor revealed he’d received a very peculiar gift from Hathaway after they struggled filming some specific scenes.
In his recent interview to British GQ, Galitzine said both he and Anne Hathaway had some trouble while filming their kissing scenes. According to the actor, they were so tense that their “intimacy coordinator would come in and give us a Listerine strip” so that both actors would feel more confident fresh mint breath.

Costume designer Jacqueline Demeterio didn’t have to look much further than her own Silver Lake-residing friends when pulling inspiration for Anne Hathaway’s Sólene in “The Idea of You.”
In the buzzy new rom-com, Hathaway stars as a 40 year-old art gallery owner and divorcee who falls in love with the 24 year-old heartthrob singer of the boy band August Moon, played by Nicholas Galitzine. Aside from the whirlwind age-gap romance, first depicted in Robinne Lee’s 2017 novel of the same name, the film’s most compelling aspects are the high-fashion ensembles worn by both Sólene and Galitizine’s Hayes. And as the pair jets from Coachella to New York to Paris, the clothes also ground their fantastical affair in reality.

Middle-aged women don’t have a lot of fun in movies. If we are depicted onscreen, we are often shown as harried, hypercompetent mothers and wives. We are tragically divorcing or exhaustedly raising our children. Sometimes we do some (alleged) murder. Other times we walk into the sea.
But the horny, stylish romps onscreen are usually reserved for the younger, less encumbered women — women who are more tabula rasa than palimpsest. And I understand. I am a 40-year-old woman in America. It’s hard to have fun in life, much less in a movie.

And the U.K. musician succeeded by playing 15 sets between May 4 and 5, though his feat has not yet been officially verified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
He beat the previous world record held by Hunter Hayes, who performed 10 concerts in different cities in 24 hours back in 2014. Prior to Hayes, Flaming Lips were the record-holders with eight shows in 2012.

[Editor’s note: The following story contains spoilers for “The Idea of You.”]
Don’t you hate it when Hollywood changes the ending to your favorite book when adapting it into a film? The process is sacrilege to some readers, but it can often lead to films improving upon their source material. The latest bestseller to see its ending changed is “The Idea of You” — and a recent piece by IndieWire’s Erin Strecker endorses the changes screenwriters Michael Showalter and Jennifer Westfeldt made in adapting Robinne Lee’s 2017 novel.
However, it turns out these changes, well regarded as they are by some, did not receive input from Lee herself. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the author said she “was not involved at all in the adaptation.”
“I have not even spoken to [director] Michael [Showalter] yet,” Lee said. “But I’m looking forward to meeting him, so no, I haven’t spoken to him about any changes. My...

The Idea of You has been the talk of the town ever since its trailer was released. This is not surprising considering its unique premise and the dedicated fans of the book. Despite its mixed reactions, the film has managed to do excellently, receiving gleaming reviews from critics as well as fans. With the way it has been perceived, it is only natural for the book to gather attention as well.
Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galatzine in The Idea of You
The movie strayed away from the source material quite a bit. Not only was the entire ending of the story changed, but Anne Hathaway’s character, Solène, was also fundamentally different. One would assume it would get a lot of hate from fans because of this. However, such was not the case.
It would seem that the intention behind the changes has led to a more supportive reaction from fans.

“The Idea of You” is like Taylor Swift’s “Illicit Affairs.”
Several TV shows and films have featured forbidden romance, but this film included a May-December romance and character exploration uniquely.
Varied audiences will appreciate the stellar performances of Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine.
Adapted from Robinne Lee’s novel of the same name, the film follows Solène (Anne Hathaway), a divorced single mom who is turning 40 and seeking direction in her life.
The film’s heart is about her self-reflection and unlikely romance with the 24-year-old lead singer of August Moon, Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine).
Solène had hoped for a weekend alone but got roped into taking her teenage daughter Izzy (Ella Rubin) and her friends to Coachella when her ex-husband, Daniel, bailed on taking them.

Nicholas stars in a perfect summer rom-com with Anne Hathway in the highly anticipated ‘The Idea Of You’. For a long time, fans and readers of the book have felt that the book is essentially fan fiction about popular heartthrob Harry Styles. But, it looks like despite the similarities in the characters, Nicholas wants to maintain the distance from confirming any resemblance with the former One Direction singer. The new movie The Idea of You is based on the best-selling book by Robinne Lee and it has often been considered to be “Harry Styles fan fiction,” something that she doesn’t feel is an accurate way to describe her work.

Fiona Apple is the go-to songwriter for exorcising your romantic demons, ruing the ones you loved, the ones who didn’t love you back, the ones you pushed away amid yet another freefall of your own design. She’s also the go-to singer for three studio comedy auteurs: Michael Showalter, Judd Apatow, and Paul Feig.
Apple’s songs have featured in three of their films — Apple wrote the original song “Dull Tool” for Apatow’s “This Is 40,” capturing a decades-long marriage at its breaking point. Elsewhere, her epic ball of romantic resignation “Cosmonauts,” off the 2020 album “Fetch the Bolt Cutters,” was also originally meant for that film. In 2022, Nicholas Galitzine was on the main stage of “Coachella”, flanked by bandmates Jaiden Anthony, Raymond Cham Jr., Vik White, and Dakota Adan.
Surrounding them were 5,000 screaming fans, chanting at the top of their lungs, “August Moon! August Moon! August Moon!” For most of the guys, who are professional dancers, this was somewhat familiar, they’d performed for much bigger audiences, supporting stars like Beyoncé and Britney Spears, and dancing on national TV. But for Galitzine, this was all brand new.
Under the spotlight, the actor was playing the role of a world famous pop star — one fifth of a massively successful (fictional) boy band. So while the crowd was real, it helped that they weren’t actually in Indio, California for their set, but a couple thousand miles away on a chilly December morning in Atlanta, filming scenes for the Prime Video rom-com film, The Idea of You.

Kicking things off in "Something Blue" is the incomparable Keegan-Michael Key in the role of Ashton Hayes, father of the bride and wealthy financial advisor.
While the actor is known for his over-the-top characters, in this role, Key takes a more subdued approach in the form of an uptight uppity country club golfer.
Still, it can be said that his comedic charms are at the ready with the perfect delivery of lines.

[Editor’s note: The following post contains spoilers for the end of “The Idea of You.”]
Ask any fan about their favorite book, and they are probably a little nervous when Hollywood comes calling with that very question. Streamers are littered with book adaptations that can never live up to the world created in one’s own head.
That’s why it’s such a treat, then, that the Anne Hathaway-starring adaptation of “The Idea of You,” which hit Prime Video on May 2, is such a steamy, fun delight that actually improves upon its source material.
It stays loyal to the book’s fantasy-driven plot: Hathaway portrays Solène, a newly-single mom of a teenager who — after meeting backstage at a concert in a pinch-me moment of serendipity — falls into a whirlwind, sex-forward romance with the lead singer of an international boy band, Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine).
But despite the fluffy rom-com premise, in the original 2017 book by Robinne Lee, Solène and...

A new docuseries, Stax: Soulsville U.S.A., will look at the radical history of the groundbreaking Memphis label, which has been home to Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, Sam and Dave, Booker T. and the M.G.’s, and the Staple Singers, among others. It feels like suddenly Nicholas Galitzine is everywhere.
The 29-year-old English actor had a runaway streaming hit last year with “Red, White & Royal Blue,” starring as a prince caught up in a closeted gay romance with an American politico (Taylor Zakhar Perez). He played a dopey quarterback in the “Heathers”-inspired high school comedy “Bottoms,” and this spring starred as a queer George Villiers, aka the First Duke of Buckingham.
Now, he’s a full-blown romantic drama lead in “The Idea of You,” starring as Hayes Campbell, the frontman of a One Direction-inspired pop group who falls for a divorced single mother, Solène, played by Anne Hathaway. Directed by Michael Showalter and written by Jennifer Westfeldt, the film situates us in the moony dazedness of new love that becomes Solène’s fixation. We buy convincingly that Hayes, and therefore Galitzine, is a heartthrob capable of making us drop our...
