John McAllister, an inmate at the Williams Correctional Facility in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, who was featured on Netflix’s recent hit docuseries Unlocked: A Jail Experiment, died Sunday, June 2, after being found unresponsive in his bunk. He was 29.
He was pronounced dead after being transported by ambulance to the Jefferson Regional Medial Center. Police do not suspect foul play or suicide.
McAllister, who went by the nickname “Eastside” on the prison docuseries, had been serving a three-year sentence after being convicted of ten felony counts related to drugs, breaking and entering, theft of property, and firearms possession.
