Breakfast at Little Dom’s is doing nothing to assuage Chelsea Peretti’s current frustration with Los Angeles. We’re discussing how inescapable the entertainment industry can be in a booth branded with a dedicatory plaque to Jon Hamm. One table over, Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao is taking a meeting and, on the other side of the window, a man walking his dog is starting to look a little familiar. “To make good art, you need to live your life, but most people here are just working and working out,” says Peretti, turning her attention to the man outside. “I’m pretty sure that’s Max Minghella. What a town, huh?”
Peretti’s geographic misgivings, all of them delivered in a deadpan familiar to any of her viewers, listeners or followers, are not entirely serious. Just one day after her 46th birthday, the Bay Area native is the first to...

Chelsea Handler is heading back to Netflix.
The comedian is bringing her latest stand-up special to the streamer on Dec. 27, Variety has learned exclusively.
The special, titled “Revolution,” marks Handler’s return to Netflix, years after she hosted her own talk show, “Chelsea,” which became the streaming service’s first foray into talk-show programming when it debuted in 2016.
“Revolution” will see Handler letting loose on her life — including her choice to remain childless and alone (with the exception of her dogs), dating during the pandemic while her family invades her home and her vision for a future where men don’t wear flip flops.
Handler serves as an executive producer on “Revolution” with Michelle Caputo and Shannon Hartman. Jo Koy directed the stand-up special. She is currently on the road for her “Vaccinated & Horny Tour,” which wraps Dec. 16. The year-and-a-half long tour will have included 115 shows in over 90 cities. The...

Amy Schumer has signed with WME in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Wme partner Sharon Jackson will lead her team. The agency previously represented her only in touring; UTA handled the rest of her business.
Schumer's sister and writing partner, Kim Caramele, and another frequent collaborator, actor/writer/producer Kevin Kane, also are joining her.
Schumer has two big-screen follow-ups to the UTA-packaged I Feel Pretty: Rebecca Miller's dramedy She Came to Me, opposite Steve Carell and Nicole Kidman, and the Universal comedy Who Invited Her?, which she also is producing alongside Reese Witherspoon. And since the release of her stand-up ...

Jack Black is no longer starring in Todd Philips’ upcoming comedy “Man-Witch” for Warner Bros., according to Variety.
Apparently, Black’s exit follows a conflict between the studio and his agent Sharon Sheinwold. Specific reasons have not been released at this stage.
Black was originally supposed to play a man who discovers he has supernatural powers and ends up teaching witchcraft to a bunch of girls. To me, that sounds a bit like “School of Rock” meets “Harry Potter,” although I'm sure he could have pulled it off quite well.
Despite Black’s exit, production on “Man-Witch” continues. The film is directed by Philips, whose credits include “Old School” and “Starsky & Hutch.”
Black’s voice can currently be heard in “Kung Fu Panda.” He will next be seen in Ben Stiller’s action comedy “Tropic Thunder."...

Runaway 'Runway': Bravo appeared to lose its biggest hit this week as producer the Weinstein Co. announced it's taking "Project Runway" to Lifetime. NBC Universal responded by wishing them well in their new relationship. ... Just kidding. They're suing. In the suit, filed in New York's Supreme Court, the Weinsteins are accused of tying renewal rights to the show to the acquisition of what NBC Uni terms "second-tier" Weinstein films. Somehow this shocking proviso didn't seem to bother Lifetime, which will proudly bring you "The Nanny Diaries" very soon.
All things UTA: It was quite the week at UTA. Things kicked off with the departure of partners Nick Stevens, Lisa Hallerman and Sharon Sheinwold, who bolted for Endeavor with a chunk of the agency's stellar comedy roster -- including Ben Stiller and Jack Black -- expected to follow them. Stevens, who had been at the agency since '91, was said to have clashed with the top partners over management style. ... Meanwhile, HBO, struggling to find its next "Six Feet Under", turned to the woman who packaged the show in the first place, UTA TV co-head Sue Naegle. She'll leave the agency to fill the void left by last month's abrupt departure of Carolyn Strauss. ... The moves were good news for some at UTA, notably Matt Rice, who ascends to head the TV department, and TV lit agents Dan Erlij and Larry Salz, both of whom have made partner.
Bootstraps 101: Everyone loves a Horatio Alger tale. Maybe that's why the line extended down three flights at Cannes' Palais this week to hear Elisabeth Murdoch deliver the most apocryphal origin story since the one about Tori Spelling being cast in "Beverly Hills, 90210" despite producers' ignorance of her lineage.

In one of the biggest agent migrations in years, UTA partners Nick Stevens, Lisa Hallerman and Sharon Sheinwold are going to Endeavor.
The trio represent some of UTA's top talent, including comedy A-listers Ben Stiller, Judd Apatow, Owen Wilson and Jack Black as well as Jonah Hill, Patrick Dempsey, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jason Schwartzman and many of the current cast members on Saturday Night Live. It is not clear yet which clients will follow them to Endeavor, though Stiller already has said that he'll make the move and Black is expected to do so quickly.
"I think Nick Stevens is a unique entity in this business: an agent with integrity, a point of view and most of all humanity," Stiller said. "He's Jerry Maguire at the end of the movie. I would be with him if he was working out of the Sunglass Hut at the Beverly Center."
The latest defections, coupled with several other recent losses, are a blow to UTA that might well ricochet throughout the delicately balanced agency world.
Stevens, who has been at UTA almost since its beginning in 1991 and who has headed its talent department since 1995, was instrumental in making the agency a comedy powerhouse.

In one of the biggest agent migrations in years, UTA partners Nick Stevens, Lisa Hallerman and Sharon Sheinwold are going to Endeavor.
As of Saturday morning, only Stevens had notified UTA of his exit, but sources said the trio's switch to Endeavor is expected to be formalized by the end of the weekend.

According to sources, the move comes as Stevens’ role as head of UTA's talent department had been reevaluated. The agency brass was expected to meet Saturday to discuss the situation.
It's been an eventful last couple of months for UTA, which recently lost clients Vince Vaughn and Kate Bosworth.
Two weeks ago, UTA partner Marc Korman moved to Endeavor to become a partner in the agency's television lit department.
In February, UTA reality agent Jonathan Swaden went to CAA.
