Calvin Harris and Rihanna have released an official music video today for their collaborative single “This Is What You Came For,” in addition to dropping three official remixes from Dillon Francis, Grandtheft and R3HAB with Henry Fong.
The music video for “This Is What You Came For” features a simple but effective concept, depicting Rihanna as she sings the songs catchy vocals in front of a projection screen and rave style light show. Calvin Harris appears in the video as well, though for the most part the Scottish DJ is relegated to standing in the background.
The remix collection offers three new takes on the single that take it in different directions. Dillon Francis chops up Rihanna’s vocals over booming trap beats, while Grandtheft infuses some touches of future bass into the song with rhythmic synth patterns and flashy percussion. R3HAB and Henry Fong, meanwhile, drop a...

Henry Fong has done it again with another bass driven single that’s bound to have main stages around the world in a tizzy.
Featuring Richie Loop on vocals, “Drop It Down Low” is a vibrant trap anthem that boasts all the playful sound design of Jack Ü and nods toward the dancehall embellishments of Major Lazer. Serious brass is present from start to finish, and there’s an insatiable bounce to the entire mix. The bridge is seamless, and the transition into the second breakdown offers some welcome variety.
When speaking with us about the new single, here’s what Fong had to share:
Had an awesome time collaborating with my dude Richie Loop out of Jamaica on ‘Drop It Down Low’. He’s a great guy and I love his vocal for this track. It was also a great experience to continue experimenting in the studio with my...

Henry Fong and Reid Stefan have teamed up on a new collaboration titled “Come Around,” dropping a high energy big room banger that features a sample from Reggae artist Collie Buddz. Best of all, they’ve offered up the new song as a free download.
“Come Around” starts off with a bang as tribal infused drums pound out a driving beat. Fong and Stefan know how to get a crowd moving, delivering massive drops that feature stuttering vocal leads, huge horn stabs, and explosive drums. After the first drop, the two producers bring back the energy, leading into a half-time reggae breakdown led by the Collie Buddz sample and Caribbean vibes.
Fong and Stefan utilize elements commonly found in big room house, delivering energetic drops while managing to elevate the genre’s usual trappings. With reggae inspired underpinnings and world infused percussion, “Come Around” is a stand out track that...

When director Bryan Singer ("The Usual Suspects") announced that X-Men: Days of Future Past would include 'Quicksilver' and that Evan Peters ("Kick-Ass") would play the role many people, such as myself, were skeptical. The timing of the announcement seemed especially odd since we already knew Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron had decided to use the speedy-mutant as well. But all doubt surrounding Singer's intentions were tossed out the window when audiences were blown away by the film's Pentagon scene. 'Quicksilver' stole the show as he zipped along the walls of the Pentagon's kitchen with a gleeful smile as he protected his new allies: Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy). Below, are designs for the character's customized stereo belt. Concept Art by Henry Fong Ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days...

If the phrase, “giant robots and monsters” alone doesn’t move you out of the house to see Guillermo del Toro’s latest film, Pacific Rim, then I’ll try to impart my enthusiasm to your decision.
The world is being threatened by insurmountable odds as monstrous Kaiju (Japanese for “strange beast”) are surfacing to Earth by way of a cosmic breach in the Pacific Ocean in southeast Asia. Understanding that this was a global threat, the world powers united and funded a program constructing giant robots called Jaegers, manned by humans to combat Kaijus. But with each monster that comes through, the Kaiju become more deadly and learns how to stop the Jaegers. America’s Jaeger, “Gipsy Danger” was manned by two brothers, Raleigh (Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam) and Yancy Becket (Diego Klattenhoff) until one Kaiju nearly destroyed it; Raleigh is forced into hiding.

We got some goodies from Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim for you today.
First, in an interview with the La Times’ Hero Complex, Guillermo Del Toro discusses his vision for the monsters/robots film. He had this to say, along with a helluva lot more, in the video below: “I felt there was a chance to do something fresh, something new that at the same time was conscious of the heritage, but not a pastiche or an homage or a greatest hits of everything…One of the first things I did is make it a point to not check any old movies or any other references. Like start from scratch.”
Secondly, below the clip, there’s an interview that was left over from Comic-Con that delves even deeper into Pacific Rim, courtesy of Uruloki.
Uruloki: You worked with Francisco Ruiz Velasco, Guy Davis and Henry Fong in the design of the creatures or Kaijus.
