Jeffrey Dean Morgan has proved his prowess as one of the greatest The Walking Dead villains albeit turning into a soft character in the later seasons and his own solo spin-off venture with Lauren Cohan’s The Walking Dead: Dead City at AMC. But the actor is now aiming for a big DC role, one that even Jason Momoa is vying for.

Momoa, who played Aquaman in the Dceu, has set his eyes on a potential movie based on the interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter, Lobo. And with recent comments from Morgan, he would very much like to play the same character as well. However, there might be one problem that would prevent him from playing the role.

With its riveting story and incredible 11-season run, Frank Darabont’s horror-drama series, The Walking Dead, has solidified its place in popular culture. The AMC series ended its run after 177 overwhelming and entertaining episodes, but it is still winning our hearts. Indeed, the undead universe is thriving more than ever, as evidenced by several acclaimed spin-off series, including The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, starring the inimitable Norman Reedus.

Well, if you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, you probably already know that the cast and crew spend a lot of time together filming. And with such close quarters and long hours on set, it’s no surprise that they might have a complaint or two about each other.

In the post-apocalyptic horror world of The Walking Dead, relationships can be fleeting and rare. Daryl Dixon, the beloved loner played by Norman Reedus, has suffered from a fair amount of grief and heartbreak throughout the series. So when a potential love interest came knocking in the form of Leah (played by Lynn Collins) in season 10, fans were thrilled as well as hesitant.
Can a man hardened by loss and survival find space for romance in a world overrun by walkers? Well, regrettably, following his brief on-screen romance with Collins in season 10, Reedus had to deal with the wrath of The Walking Dead fans, who were gripped by intense emotions.

Robert Kirkman, the creator behind The Walking Dead comic book series, has an unexpected favorite character within the expansive universe. While many would assume that he would choose someone like Steven Yeun’s Glenn, Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes, or any other impressive character from the original survivors, Rickman’s choice diverges significantly from popular opinion.

Despite the array of memorable heroes and villains introduced throughout the series, Kirkman’s preference surprisingly lands on Negan, one of the most brutal characters in the series.

Season 6 of The Walking Dead introduced Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the notorious Saviors’ leader Negan followed by what has been considered the most shocking and brutal moments in the whole series, Negan beating Abraham and Glenn to death in front of the survivors.

The Walking Dead franchise has spawned multiple shows, comic series, and video games, each of which has been fairly popular in its own way. The Og show, starring Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, and Danai Gurira in the lead, went on for 11 seasons, before concluding in 2022.
Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
But did you know that the show was supposed to run for four more seasons with two characters taking the lead after the exit of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira? Lincoln’s Rick Grimes left after season 8, and Gurira’s Michonne made her exit in 10. While Reedus’ Daryl Dixon took the lead after Grimes left to join the Crm, he too was going to make his way out of the Twd universe. At this time, Lauren Cohan’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan were supposed to take over.

The Walking Dead: Dead City got an exciting update regarding its Season 2.
The first season left off with a notable lack of resolution, so the fact that there will be a continuation shouldn’t be too confusing for most. In the finale, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) sacrificed his freedom to save Maggie’s (Lauren Cohan) son, Hershel (Logan Kim).
Now, Maggie’s in a tough spot pressured to make the right choice and try to save the man who brutally killed her husband.

[This story contains spoilers from The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.]
Years after his presumed death, Rick Grimes is not only alive and well, but fully back in action.
By the end of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, the Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira-starring and produced limited series, the powerhouse duo of Rick and Michonne officially reunited. Not just with each other, but with their family and friends. Having dismantled the nefarious Crm from the inside, the titular “ones who live” earned their way back to the Alexandria safe zone they called home for so many seasons, with Rick reuniting with his daughter for the first time in years, and meeting his son Rj for the first time ever.
All’s well that ends well, right? Just one problem: it ain’t over just yet.

The Walking Dead is over, but like the zombies at the heart (er, brains?) of the tale, the franchise lives on.
Clocking in at 11 seasons and 177 episodes all told, the AMC horror drama shuffled off into the afterlife, only to birth a bevy of spinoff shows, most of which center on beloved characters from the original series like the Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) reunion series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Beyond those continuing adventures, there are also the spinoffs without too many overt ties to the “flagship” Walking Dead, including the very first of these spinoffs, Fear the Walking Dead (also now in the grave, joined there by the two-seasons-and-out The Walking Dead: World Beyond and single season anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead).

Scott M. Gimple, the co-creator of the new “The Walking Dead” spin-off series “The Ones Who Live,” said he hopes to be able to reunite beloved franchise characters like Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Negan Smith (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) in an epic series crossover.
“There are so many things with this universe that I plan and put together, but I also know that God laughs, and you have to pivot to something else,” Gimple said. “I absolutely have been working towards that and hoping towards that, but we’ll see what happens. Gimple revealed his coveted, long-term franchise goals at the spin-off’s premiere at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Los Angeles. Series leads Lincoln, Gurira, Lesley-Ann Brandt (“Lucifer”), Terry O’Quinn (“Lost”) and Craig Tate (“Snowfall”) joined Gimple at the red-carpet event.

“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” is off to the races in the ratings.
Per AMC, the premiere of the spinoff series centered on Norman Reedus’ fan favorite character is officially the biggest premiere in the history of streamer AMC+ with three weeks of streaming data available. That puts its ahead of fellow “Walking Dead” spinoff “The Walking Dead: Dead City” starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Maggie and Negan, which claimed the biggest premiere honor back in June. Both shows have already been renewed for second seasons.
Furthermore, “Daryl Dixon” is now on pace to become the most-viewed season of any show in the history of AMC+.
In the linear ratings, the fourth episode of “Daryl Dixon” this past Sunday hit new series highs in total viewership and the adults 25-54 demographic. In the Nielsen Live+3 ratings, the show hit 1.1 million viewers with its fourth episode. That includes 392,000 viewers in the demo.

The Walking Dead, the long-running post-apocalyptic horror series based on the comic books by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, has finally come to an end after 11 seasons and 177 episodes. The show, which premiered on AMC in 2010, followed a group of survivors led by former sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as they faced the threats of zombies, hostile humans, and their own inner demons in a world overrun by the undead.
The final season of The Walking Dead, which was split into three parts, adapted material from issues #175–193 of the comic book series and introduced two new factions: the Commonwealth, a large network of communities that had advanced equipment and over fifty thousand survivors living in their settlements; and the Reapers, a mysterious group of hostile survivors that attacked and took Meridian, the former home of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and her new people, the Wardens.

There are certain names that are synonymous with The Walking Dead, two of which are undoubtedly actor Norman Reedus and executive producer Greg Nicotero. With Reedus getting his own character spinoff series in Daryl Dixon, it was time to reunite the two. But it may not have happened if Reedus didn’t go to bat for Nicotero.
Speaking with SFX, Greg Nicotero recalled how Norman Reedus stepped up and ensured that he would be included in the production of Daryl Dixon. “Norman kept saying, ‘You can’t do the show without Greg! You guys have got to make a deal. He’s got to be here!’”
Unfortunately, Nicotero’s involvement with Daryl Dixon won’t be as hands-on as it was with The Walking Dead, as he directed more than 30 episodes of the original series. “Then [showrunner] David [Zabel] called me and said, ‘How would you feel about not directing this season?...

“Bringing to life Daryl Dixon, a well-established and beloved character, in an all-new and distinct world was an interesting creative challenge,” said Kim Granito, head of marketing for AMC Networks. “We wanted these images to reflect a heroic, and more hopeful story than we’ve seen before in this expanding universe. We hope this series will thrill long-time fans of this franchise but will also resonate with those who have never seen an episode of ‘The Walking Dead.’”

AMC Networks reported its second-quarter 2023 earnings Friday, revealing it lost hundreds of thousands more subscribers across its portfolio of niche streamers and was down 17% in U.S. ad sales for the April 1-June 30 period.
AMC Networks lost 300,000 subscribers across its streaming services in Q1, falling from 11.8 million at the end of 2022 to 11.5 million by March 31. In Q2, that decline continued with streaming subs down to 11 million at the end of June, per AMC Networks’ Friday earnings results.
It should be noted that in AMC Networks’ press release, it states streaming subscribers totaled 11.2 million at the end of Q1, which contradicts its previously given Q1 results, writing: “In the second quarter, we updated our subscriber definition to no longer include estimated subscriber conversions. This definitional change resulted in the removal of approximately 300 thousand subscribers from our quarter end subscriber count. Subscribers and growth rates mentioned in this release reflect our updated definition.

Just when it seemed like Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) were done with one another, The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 Episode 6 left fans with more questions than answers.
Yes, Maggie got her wish and had her son back, but Negan was left at the mercy of the Croat (Zeljko Ivanek) and, by extension, The Dama (Lisa Emery), who wants him to lead New York.
The shocking final scene found Maggie revealing to Hershel (Logan Kim) she was ready to finish this thing with Negan, but there are plenty of directions for this storyline to go next.
Maggie knows The Dama cut off one of Hershel's limbs, so she knows there's more to the villains in New York than she first thought.
Negan's predicament is also sketchy because, on the one hand, he can stay there to keep Maggie and Hershel safe.
On the other, he could escape,...

“The Walking Dead’s” first post-series finale spin-off has reached the end of its debut season. “The Walking Dead: Dead City” Season 1 concludes with “Doma Smo” (“we are home” in English), with all of the show’s storylines finally coming to a head in the Big Apple.
At the start, Maggie, Negan, Perlie (Gaius Charles), and Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) all reconvene in a vacant lot, the narratives all converging as one. Last episode, it was revealed that Ginny uncovered that Maggie was lying about the terms of the deal to get Hershel back from the Croat (Željko Ivanek). Negan is frustrated that Ginny has willingly thrown herself into danger by entering New York City, despite Maggie setting her up with shelter at The Bricks.

AMC’s handed out early renewal orders to two new shows in the “Walking Dead Universe.” The Walking Dead: Dead City starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan and Lauren Cohan as Maggie completed its first season on July 23, 2023 and is confirmed to return for season two. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon with Norman Reedus back as the titular character kicks off season one on September 10, 2023, and has already been renewed for season two.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: Dead City episode 6.
Dead City’s first season has wrapped, but the saga of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) won’t end here for fans of The Walking Dead. Indeed, AMC announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2023 that the show had been renewed for a second season.
Maggie and Negan have grown to resemble one another more over time, with Maggie’s slide into “any means necessary” violence countering Negan’s attempts at redemption in whatever form he can get it. This season saw all of their old animosities dragged back into the light but also showed what “a badass team” they can be when working together.
The final episode resolved surprisingly few of the plot elements established in the first episode and instead opted to set up future developments. When we leave Maggie and her son Hershel, their relationship...

My mom always taught me that the only thing that happens when you assume is that you make an “ass” out of “u” and “me.” Well sorry, mother, but I assumed AMC’s Maggie and Negan spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City would be a one-season experience.

This The Walking Dead: Dead City review contains spoilers.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Episode 6
The first season of The Walking Dead: Dead City has spent a great deal of time developing some kind of bond between Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). It’s entirely one-sided, as this episode shows, with Negan doing everything he can to try and help Maggie get past the lingering trauma of Glenn’s death at his hand. Maggie couldn’t let it go in season 11 of The Walking Dead, and she cannot let it go now, even though Hershel (Logan Kim) is a teenager and she’s moved on from Hilltop and Alexandria. Hershel long ago let the urge to kill Negan go. Negan long ago atoned for the sins of his past (to most people he’s offended). However, Maggie can’t let it go.
Maggie isn’t Maggie Greene anymore.
