Former President Donald Trump was criticized for lauding Hannibal Lecter, the fictional serial killer from the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs while claiming that migrants are being released from “insane asylums” into the U.S. at a weekend rally.
During a speech he made at his New Jersey campaign rally on May 11, Trump claimed that “the mental institution population is down because they’re taking people from insane asylums [in foreign countries] and from mental institutions” and sending them to the U.S.
“You know what the difference is, right,” he asked the crowd. “An insane asylum is a mental institution on steroids.”
“Silence of the Lamb – has anyone ever seen The Silence of the Lambs – the late, great Hannibal Lecter,” Trump added. “He’s a wonderful man. Remember the last scene?”
“‘Excuse me, I’m about to have a friend for dinner,’ as this poor doctor walked by,” the former president said while quoting what Lecter,...

Mika Brzezinski got a huge surprise on Thursday’s (May 2) episode of MSNBC’s Morning Joe when her husband and co-host, Joe Scarborough, abruptly stopped the show to present her with a sweet birthday gift. In the clip, which the official Morning Joe X account posted online, Brzezinski introduces a segment featuring Dan Kilcoyne, the President and CEO of Mini Melts Ice Cream. But before she can start interviewing the creator of her favorite snack, Scarborough begins ringing the bell on his desk. Brzezinski can be heard gasping off-screen before the camera turns back to Scarborough, who says, “Mini Melts. Come on over, Dan.” Scarborough directs Kilcoyne over to the side of the stage in front of a display hidden behind a sheet. He then asks Brzezinski, who is sitting open-mouthed, to come and join them. Morning Joe celebrates our own Mika Brzezinski’s birthday with her favorite dessert: Mini melts!

Norby Williamson, the ESPN veteran who has managed everything from NFL coverage to “SportsCenter,” is leaving the Disney sports-media giant abruptly just weeks after being called out on camera in a surprise and unprecedented outburst by daytime host Pat McAfee.
The McAfee contretemps is not at the root of Williamson’s departure, according to a person familiar with the matter, but rather disagreements between the executive and the longer-term strategy being devised by Burke Magnus, who was handed oversight of content and news production in March of last year.
“Almost 40 years ago in 1985, I was so very fortunate to be offered an opportunity at ESPN,: Williamson said in a statement that was issued in a memo to staffers Friday. “Due to the exceptional hard work, creativity and commitment of the people of ESPN, and to a much lesser extent my contributions, I’d like to think we’ve left...

One of the benefits of hosting any sort of news or discussion program on TV is an authorization to talk. Now some TV journalists and personalities are also being given permission to bite.
NBCUniversal needs to get out the proverbial Bactine after being savaged earlier this week by many of its top news personalities over the hire made by NBC News executives of former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel. McDaniel was, until Wednesday, to have been a prominent political-news analyst weighing in on topics as the 2024 presidential election drew close. But the prospect of paying someone who had openly tried to help former President Donald Trump discredit the results of the 2020 election raised the internal alarms of many NBC News anchors and many of them — including Joe Scarborough, Joy Reid, Rachel Maddow and Nicolle Wallace — took significant time on Monday to push back against the decision, with Maddow spending...

NBC News has terminated former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel as a political analyst just days after hiring her after an unprecedented revolt among its anchors and staffers at its news division, who questioned why a person who supported former President Donald Trump‘s false statements about the 2020 election was hired in the first place.
“There is no doubt that the last several days have been difficult for the News Group,” NBCUniversal News Group President Cesar Conde told staff in an email. “After listening to the legitimate concerns of many of you, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor.”
“I want to personally apologize to our team members who felt we let them down,” Conde wrote. “While this was a collective recommendation by some members of our leadership team, I approved it and take full responsibility for it.”

Comcast’s NBC Universal has severed ties with former Republican National Committee Chairperson Ronna McDaniel and will no longer include her as an on-air contributor in news and political coverage, an executive affirmed in a memo on Tuesday.
The memo, written by NBC News Group Chairman Cesar Conde, said he made the key decision to move on from having McDaniel contribute to NBC News products following internal backlash from staffers who expressed concerns over her political leanings and, in particular, her defense of former President Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims of election fraud and interference.
Some of that internal strife spilled into the public when “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd and MSNBC on-air columnist Rachel Maddow criticized the network’s hiring of McDaniel.

Ronna McDaniel is out at NBC News. The former Republican National Committee head has been let go just four days after it was announced that she’d been hired as a paid contributor — a position that reportedly would have earned her $300,000 a year.
NBCUniversal News Group chairman Cesar Conde announced the news to his staff via email on Tuesday, according to CNN alum Brian Stelter: “There is no doubt that the last several days have been difficult for the News Group. After listening to the legitimate concerns of many of you, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor.

NBC News has cut ties with former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel, just days after she was announced as a paid analyst for the network. There had been a growing internal backlash at the division over her hire.
Meanwhile, CAA also has dropped McDaniel as a client, sources familiar with the situation tell Deadline.
A source also confirmed reports that McDaniel was seeking potential legal options for her next steps.
NBCUniversal News Group Chairman Cesar Conde made the announcement about McDaniel’s exit in an memo to staffers (see it in full below). In his missive, Conde took responsibility for what happened, but it was unclear whether there will be further repercussions.
“No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned. Over the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal,” Conde wrote in the memo.

Rachel Maddow, the biggest star on MSNBC, has weighed in on the controversial decision by NBC News to hire Ronna McDaniel as an on-air contributor.
Toward the tail end of an extended monologue about the history of American fascists from the 1930s and 1940s, Maddow ripped into the hiring as “inexplicable.”
“I mean, you wouldn’t hire a wiseguy, you wouldn’t hire a made man like a mobster to work at a Da’s office, right?” Maddow continued. “You wouldn’t hire a pickpocket to work as a Tsa screener. And so I find the decision to put her on the payroll, it’s inexplicable, and I hope they will reverse their decision.
“I want to associate myself with all my colleagues both at MSNBC and at NBC News,” Maddow added, “who have voiced loud and principled objections to our company putting on the payroll, someone who hasn’t just attacked us as journalists,...

A long line of MSNBC’s most popular anchors spent Monday calling out the network’s corporate sibling, NBC News, for its hire of former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel in a stunning display of internal rifts laid bare on the TV screen.
The hire of McDaniel as a contributor is “inexplicable,” Rachel Maddow said on MSNBC Monday night as part of a half-hour commercial-free monologue that painted the former politico as one in a line of fascists and would-be usurpers who have tried to take over America’s political process. McDaniel, who during her time as RNC head helped former President Donald Trump in his efforts to nullify the 2020 presidential election, said Maddow, “is part of an ongoing project to get rid of our system of government.”

Ronna McDaniel was supposed to be the new star contributor at NBC News. Now her position there is looking increasingly untenable.
NBC News hired the former Republican National Committee chief last week, betting that her recent access to the Trump campaign and Republican politicians would make her a valuable analyst as the 2024 election cycle intensified. But in recent days, her ability to do just that seems unclear. On Monday, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski suggested on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that NBC News reconsider its hire. A day earlier, Chuck Todd took to “Meet The Press” to chastise NBC News bosses for making moderator Kristen Welker conduct a news interview she had previously booked with McDaniel now that she was a paid operative of NBC and potentially less able to respond truthfully to hard questions.
It seems very likely that her position at NBC will remain in the news for the immediate future.

The fallout continues at NBC News over the hiring of former Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel.
On Monday morning, MSNBC Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski weighed in on her hiring as a political analyst, saying that they had been “inundated with calls” about the controversial move.

“We weren’t asked our opinion of the hiring but if we were, we would have strongly objected to it for several reasons,” he continued, discussing her role in the aftermath of the 2020 Election to pressure election officials.
“To be clear, we believe NBC News should seek out conservative Republican voices to provide balance in their election coverage,” Brzeznski continued. “But it should be conservative Republicans, not a person who used her position of power to be an anti-democracy election denier,...

Former President Donald Trump was criticized by his own former vice president, Mike Pence, for saluting prisoners who participated in the January 6 Capitol riot and calling them “hostages” during the introduction of his Dayton, Ohio campaign rally.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please rise for the horribly and unfairly treated January 6th hostages,” the moderator of the rally on March 16 stated over the loudspeaker.
Trump raised his right hand and saluted as the “January 6 Choir” sang the “Star Spangled Banner.” The choir is composed of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and others imprisoned for helping to advance the failed insurrection.
The rally started with the Pledge of Allegiance recited by January 6 defendants serving time in the Washington, D.C., jail.
“You see the spirit from the hostages, and that’s what they are: hostages,” Trump claimed at the rally. “They’ve been treated terribly and very unfairly. And you know that and everybody knows that.

The incomparable Larry David has never been one to shy away from a bit of self-promotion. And this week’s run-up to the 12th and (allegedly) final season of his long-running HBO comedy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, has been no exception. In fact, from throttling a beloved Muppet to tanking a cringe-inducing interview at his own premiere event, you might say that this time, L.D. has outdone himself. Here’s a look at his wild media appearances ahead of season 12 of the Emmy-winning hit.

Networks are heavily promoting their night of Iowa caucus coverage, with reporters fanned out across the state and, throughout the day on Monday, anchors doing their best to stir up excitement in the waiting game before voting actually begins.
But as large as the investment is for broadcast and cable networks, the coverage is facing heavy competition on the night of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Fox has the Emmys, and ABC has what is likely to draw the biggest audience, the NFL playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Broadcast networks are sticking to their regular schedules with the possibility of news updates, leaving the ongoing coverage to their streaming and cable channels.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Florida) fired shots at former President Donald Trump and Fox News regarding Trump’s recent town hall appearance on the network this week.
The discussion on Morning Joe began with a clip of Trump in his town hall on Fox, where he declared, “Florida did shut down. Ron DeSantis shut down, or as he’s known, Ron Desanctimonious. He shut his state down very violently, actually, and shut the highways down the roads down.”
Host Joe Scarborough then questioned the accuracy of Trump’s statement and recalled Trump’s past criticism of DeSantis when he didn’t push stricter measures to combat the pandemic.
In response, DeSantis called out Trump’s reliance on Dr. Anthony Fauci. “They were running commercials in October of 2020 for his reelection, bragging that he followed everything Fauci said. And then when Fauci, Donald Trump’s last day in office, he gave Fauci a commendation.

Technical issues sent MSNBC on a Tuesday-morning scramble.
The NBCUniversal-backed cable news outlet was forced to run more than ten minutes of promos and ads and a snippet of a repeat from Lawrence O’Donnell’s primetime show just after 6 a.m. as engineers and staffers grappled with an as-yet-unknown glitch that kept “Morning Joe” from coming on the air at its usual time. Finally, “Morning Joe” co-anchor Mika Brzezinski surfaced on air at about 6:11 a.m. to kick off the program and apologize for the delay.
“Thanks for bearing with us, everybody,” Brzezinski. Viewers had initially seen a shot of the U.S. Capitol at the top of the hour along with some of the strains of The Who’s seminal rock song “Baba O’Riley.”
MSNBC declined to comment. Jonathan Lemire, the anchor of the 5 a.m. program, “Way Too Early,” cited “technical difficulties” via a post on the social-media platform X.

Rep. Gregory Meeks expressed fear Tuesday that in addressing the ongoing Israel-Hamas War, “people have forgotten or are not talking any longer” about the Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israeli civilians.
“We’ve got to go after Hamas,” the Democrat from New York told “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Jonathan Lemire. He noted that as concerns over Israel’s military response in Gaza this last month grow, Israelis understand “the difference between the Palestinians and Hamas, but people are not talking about Hamas enough and the tragedies that they have done and continue to do.”

Following a judge’s ruling that Donald Trump exaggerated his net worth and asset values to grow his real estate empire, the former president now faces the possibility of losing said real estate, at least in New York. And, according to “Morning Joe” panelist Rev. Al Sharpton, that pokes a very specific sore spot for Trump: his daddy issues.
Discussing the possibility of Trump losing some of his most famous properties on Friday, the MSNBC panelists all agreed that this is probably more devastating to Trump that any of the 91 criminal charges he still faces (his four indictments are separate from this civil case).

Discussing the possibility of Trump losing some of his most famous properties on Friday, the MSNBC panelists all agreed that this is probably more devastating to Trump that any of the 91 criminal charges he still faces (his four indictments are separate from this civil case).

Former vice president and current presidential hopeful Mike Pence attempted to make a sex joke during Wednesday night’s second GOP debate and, at least with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” crew, it fell more than a little flat. On Thursday morning, the entire panel fully cringed at the moment.
Pence’s crack came in response to Chris Christie on Wednesday, who argued that because President Biden is “sleeping with a member of the teachers union, there is no chance that you could take the stranglehold away from the teachers union every day.”
“Full disclosure Chris, you mentioned the President’s situation,” Pence replied. “My wife isn’t a member of the teachers union, but I got to admit, I’ve been sleeping with a teacher for 38 years. For full disclosure!”

Donald Trump has returned to an old favorite insult, calling NBC and MSNBC an “enemy of the people” once again on Monday. As a result, “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough argued on Tuesday that, at this point, “it’s not a reach” to liken Trump to Hitler “without any concerns whatsoever.”
In yet another angry screed on Truth Social, Trump wrote that if he were to win re-election, he would likely start charging organizations like NBC to be on the air, and investigate them for their “Country Threatening Treason.” To that, Scarborough only scoffed.
Homing in on the fact that Trump “says that the news network that is most critical of him should be taken off the air,” Scarborough immediately likened Trump to Hitler.
“This is not a reach, I can go back and talk about Nazi Germany and I do it without any concerns whatsoever,” Scarborough said. “And if...

Age continues to be an issue for the Biden administration, as voters worry President Joe Biden is too old to serve out a second term, should he win re-election. But MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” crew had some advice for Biden: simply embrace it.
On Monday morning’s episode of the show, host Joe Scarborough was once again frustrated by new polling putting Biden at low odds against Trump, but noted that the Republican party is clearly “divided” right now. Scarborough posed the question of whether a “viable, strong message” from Democrats could give them the edge over the next year, and panelist Charlie Sykes argued yes.
He even had that message ready to go.
“It’s not really that complicated. Joe Biden can say, ‘Yes, I’m old, but he is crazy. They are crazy, and they are dangerous, and they are burning it down,'” he said, earning a laugh from host Mika Brzezinski.

As Rudy Giuliani’s financial and legal woes continue to pile up, the hosts of “Morning Joe” have no sympathy for the man once dubbed “America’s mayor.” On Friday morning, the MSNBC crew joked that he’s turned into “America’s deadbeat,” and that he brought it all on himself.
This week, it was reported that Giuliani ignored a court order instructing him to pay legal fees to election workers he defamed, is currently being sued by his own former lawyers for $1.4 million in unpaid fees, and he was hit with allegations that he inappropriately groped Cassidy Hutchinson, a former Trump White House aide who gave an explosive testimony against Trump last year.

Despite all his bravado to the contrary, former President Donald Trump is indeed worried about going to prison, according to a new report from Rolling Stone. Among those worries is, apparently, that he’ll end up in a “bad” prison — which caused MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” crew to literally laugh out loud on Thursday morning.
According to the report, Trump has wondered aloud if he’d “be sent to a ‘club fed’ style prison — a place that’s relatively comfortable, as far these things go — or a ‘bad’ prison,” as well as whether or not he’d be made to wear a prison jumpsuit, among other concerns.
“There are no good prisons. Mr. President,” host Willie Geist mocked, earning loud laughter from Joe Scarborough and the rest of the team. “There are no good ones.”
But, Joe Scarborough wasn’t at all surprised to hear Trump is actually worried about jail time.

Larry David did not curb his dislike of Elon Musk while at a wedding.
The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator confronted Twitter Aka “X” owner Musk during agent Ari Emanuel’s 2022 wedding, as captured in new biography “Elon Musk,” written by Walter Isaacson.
David and Musk were sitting at the same table during the wedding reception, which led David to ask Musk, “Do you just want to murder kids in schools?” in an excerpt from the book (via The New York Post). The wedding took place four days following the Uvalde, Texas school shooting massacre.
Per the biography, Musk replied, “I’m anti-kid murder,” to which “Seinfeld” creator David asked, “Then how could you vote Republican?”
David later confirmed the encounter to biographer Isaacson, telling the author, “His tweets about voting Republican because Democrats were the party of division and hate were sticking in my craw. Even if Uvalde never happened,...

Larry David confronted Elon Musk over his support for the Republican Party at Endeavor chief Ari Emanuel’s wedding last year, according to Walter Isaacson’s new biography of the tech mogul, Elon Musk.
“Do you just want to murder kids in schools?” the comedian and Seinfeld co-creator reportedly asked Musk at the Hollywood super-agent’s nuptials to fashion designer Sarah Staudinger in France. “No, no … I’m anti-kid murder,” Musk, the Tesla Motors/X/SpaceX billionaire, is said to have replied.
“Then how could you vote Republican?” David followed up.

Donald Trump surrendered in Atlanta on Thursday, where he was booked and fingerprinted after being indicted on 13 different counts stemming from his efforts to overturn election results in the state of Georgia during the 2020 presidential election, including racketeering, conspiracy and soliciting a public official to violate their oath of office.
For those counting, this marks Trump’s fourth indictment, following charges of fraud from the Southern District of New York, and two federal indictments, racking up 91 charges so far.
In addition to posing for a mug shot, Trump’s height and weight were recorded as six-foot-three and 215 lbs.

Donald Trump surrendered himself to law enforcement for booking for the fourth time on Thursday, this time in Georgia, and as part of the process, he had to give his height and weight — although MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” crew had a good laugh at those numbers on Friday morning.
Purportedly to speed up the process of the booking, Trump’s team sent along his height and weight before he even arrived, reporting that he’s 6′ 3″ tall, and weighs 215 pounds.
NBC News correspondent Ken Dilanian took the first shot, saying Trump “probably hasn’t been [215] since the Wharton School of Finance,” but admitted that the entire thing was “a sobering moment.”
To that, host Joe Scarborough agreed, but praised Trump’s staff for providing “one of the few moments of levity” with those numbers, before digging in himself.

One of Donald Trump’s former employees did a full 180 on their testimony about him this week after switching to a new lawyer that the four-time indicted former president is not paying for. And NBC News’ Ken Dilanian says there’s “absolutely” a chance that more Trump allies will flip on him.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that Mar-a-Lago It director Yuscil Taveras — previously identified as “Trump Employee 4” in the superseding indictment of Trump — retracted testimony in which he originally said he was unaware of any efforts or instructions to erase security footage from Trump’s Florida resort.
After switching to a public defender instead of a Trump-provided attorney, Taveras testified the exact opposite, further implicating Trump in the classified documents case, and agreeing to testify at trial when the time comes.
“Who would have ever believed that Donald Trump would be guilty of obstructing justice, other than everyone,” Joe Scarborough mocked.

To the “Morning Joe” crew, Ron DeSantis’ status as a “tin hat would-be emperor” has officially been solidified, now with a side of “a Napoleon complex.” That’s because the Florida governor, who hopes to be democratically elected the next president of the United States, suspended a democratically elected judge on Wednesday — the second time he’s done so.
Monique Worrell, who won her judgeship with more than 60% of the vote, was suspended after DeSantis accused her of “neglect of duty and incompetence,” saying she offered lenient sentences and wouldn’t prosecute certain charges. But many, including Worrell herself, say that DeSantis is just retaliating, as she has been a vocal critic of his politics and policies.

Joe Scarborough has just about had it with the Republican party, and those in it who are supporting Donald Trump’s free speech defense amid his third indictment. So, on Wednesday morning, the MSNBC host went off on his former party.
Obviously, Scarborough has been angry at the GOP for months at this point. But his furor was renewed on Wednesday after the New York Times obtained a memo that reportedly lays out a step-by-step process in order for Trump and his team to block the certification of the 2020 election results.
This would, of course, fly in the face of one of the legal defenses that Trump’s team has indicated they’re going with, in which they argue that the thrice-indicted former president was just exercising his free speech, nothing more, and that he truly believed the election was stolen from him. Still, Trump allies are sticking to that claim.

Unlike some other Republicans, Chris Christie isn’t hedging when it comes to answering whether or not he believes thrice-indicted former president Donald Trump committed any crimes. Christie’s answer is simple: yes, Trump “clearly” committed crimes, and in sometimes hilarious fashion.
While appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Tuesday, the Republican presidential hopeful was blunt, as he has been for quite some time now, when asked directly if Trump “probably committed a crime or two.”
“Oh, yeah, he certainly committed crimes in the classified documents case,” Christie said. “I believe the keeping of those documents was a crime. And the obstruction was clearly a crime.”
Christie then turned to the superseding indictment in that particular case, which alleges that Trump instructed Mar-a-Lago employees to destroy security footage from the resort, shortly after being subpoenaed for said footage. For the former New Jersey governor, it was horrible — but also a little funny.

While appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” in an interview pre-taped before The Screen Actors Guild strike, the “Haunted Mansion” star explained the lengths she would go to to support and defend her youngest daughter Ruby, who is transgender.
“Being a parent is about love and I love Ruby. Love her,” Curtis, 64, told co-host Joe Scarborough. “And, people have said, ‘You’re so great to accept her love.’ What are you talking about? This is my daughter, this human being has come to me and said, ‘This is who I am.’ And my job is to say, ‘Welcome home.’

Jesse Watters’ debut as the permanent occupant of Fox News’ 8 p.m. hour gave the network a boost in the timeslot, versus the series of replacement hosts who have filled the time period since the cancellation of Tucker Carlson’s show.
Jesse Watters Primetime averaged 2.47 million viewers during the hour. That compares to the 1.66 million that Fox News Tonight averaged in June.
Still, Watters’ audience was less than the 3.1 million viewers that Carlson averaged in the time period last July. The network is obviously aiming for Watters’ audience to grow, as Carlson’s did after he replaced Bill O’Reilly in 2017.
Watters on Monday beat cable news rivals, including an MSNBC Joe Scarborough special, which averaged 1.29 million, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, which averaged 686,000.
In the adults 25-54 demo, Watters averaged 161,000 viewers, compared to 139,000 for MSNBC’s Scarborough and 120,000 for CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360.

SAG-AFTRA is set to formalize their strike plans on Thursday afternoon, after a midnight deadline on Wednesday passed without a new contract agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP). The strike will mark the first time both SAG-AFTRA and the WGA will be on strike together in 60 years and, on Thursday morning, the hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” voiced their support for the situation.
As hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski discussed the negotiations, Scarborough explained that “at some point, this really starts to put a dent in the media companies’ bottom line,” but he and his colleagues were totally fine with that, considering it’s happening because actors and writers are simply trying to get fair compensation.
“A lot of people hear these stories, hear us reporting on these stories, and they think ‘Oh, a bunch of actors and screenwriters, they all make a lot of money.

Joe Scarborough wasn’t pleased with co-host Mika Brzezinski on Tuesday morning when she wanted to ask the first question of their guest for the day. The MSNBC host snarked that Brzezinski “always cuts me off” — and then proceeded to steamroll the question she was able to get out.
The moment came as the pair (who are married) welcomed Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie to the show, who apparently stipulated that they could ask him any question they wanted, as long as it wasn’t about the Mets’ current standing. Brzezinski assured she would be asking something much more important, before meeting Scarborough’s irritation.
“Well let me start then, I won’t ask about — no, no, let me go first,” she said, as Scarborough attempted to interject. “I just need to know what to do with this.”

Joe Scarborough has some advice for Republicans running for president: stop trying to be Donald Trump. According to the MSNBC host, the strategy he used to win in 2016 is “never gonna work again.”
Scarborough’s advice came on Friday’s episode of “Morning Joe,” as he and his colleagues discussed someone who “really kind of modeled herself after the Trump blueprint,” Kari Lake. The former Arizona gubernatorial candidate — who, like Trump, lost her election and then baselessly claimed for months that the election rigged and she actually did win — is facing a new lawsuit in Maricopa County for defamation of an election official.
In discussing Lake, Scarborough noted that just about everyone he ever talked to about her during campaign season thought she was incredibly skilled, and added that “if she was a mainstream Republican,” she could’ve won. So he offered some guidance to others.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough went off on Thursday morning, this time about the “dishonorable” behavior coming out of the Republican-majority House as of late. The “Morning Joe” host wasn’t exactly surprised though, angrily telling viewers “This is what we warned about.”
Scarborough’s outrage came in response to the House’s decision to censure Democrat Adam Schiff, as well as its apparent progress in trying to impeach President Joe Biden. More than anything, Scarborough simply scoffed at the fact that articles of impeachment are even taking priority right now.
“Thank God we don’t have a $31 trillion debt that Donald Trump basically gave us, and these same Republicans gave us,” Scarborough sniped. “Thank God we don’t have any concerns with China. Thank God we don’t have any concerns with the economy. Thank God we don’t have any concerns about skyrocketing college costs. Thank God!”
