Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t what it used to be anymore. From failing movies to cringe scenes (just look at Thor: Love and Thunder), the MCU is suffering through the effects of post-Endgame clarity.
Disney’s current CEO, Bob Iger, recently unveiled a new plan for the Marvel Cinematic Universe which seems good (at first). However, it is the majority opinion of the people that this new plan isn’t going to work.

Marvel Studios Isn’t What It Used To Be
Maybe it is a bold statement, or a rude one, but all things considered, there is quite a noticeable difference observed in the MCU before Avengers: Endgame and the MCU today. Releasing movies like selling cotton candies at a fair, the MCU simply had a lot on its plate (not even counting the TV shows).

There’s a new batch of photos for Starz’s Outlander series, based on Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling novel. From Ronald D. Moore, Outlander tells the tale of a young woman who gets swept back in time, far from her husband, where she winds up forced to marry a young Scottish warrior. The new photos help establish the setting while also showing us some of the goings on behind the scenes.
The first photo we have, shown above, was released by Starz and depicts Castle Leoch, a very important setting from 18th century Scotland, when the majority of the story takes place. Starz made a joke by releasing the photo in honor of Daylight Savings, captioning it “Sad about losing an hour? Claire lost 200 years.”

Who doesn’t like a glimpse at hotly anticipated adaptations of a popular book series? Ronald D. Moore has been putting together Outlander for Starz, based on Diana Gabaldon’s book series. Today I have a small collection of photos from the production of the show’s first season, which will be premiering this summer, and I’m sure they’ll tickle the fancy of Outlander’s fans, both those that are built in and those who will be joining the fandom as they watch the series. Are you ready to look at these photos? I know I am!
First off, we have the above picture of Caitriona Balfe in character as Claire Randall and, I have to say, she looks stunning. Judging by her dress, I’d say this photo takes place in the 1940s, before she takes a step back in time to 18th century Scotland. It’s...

Last month, when Outlander, a drama based on Diana Gabaldon’s fantasy/romance/adventures series of books, set up a writers room before Starz had even given the project an order to series, I might’ve said they were being a tad presumptuous. A little optimism is a good thing, but isn’t this a little much? Apparently not, because Starz has, indeed, ordered Outlander to series. From Battlestar Galactica developer Ron Moore, Outlander stands to be one Starz best series if done right. Starz would’ve been completely mental to not pick this project up, especially with Moore’s name attached to it. Even though it’s untested, I have a feeling it will last for years.
Perhaps, like Moore’s decision to open the writers room and hiring four scribes – Toni Gaphia, Matt Roberts, Ira Behr and Anne Kenney – I’m being overly optimistic about the chances Outlander has of being successful,...

I hear Gabaldon let the news of the greenlight slip at Book Expo America 2013. Despite not giving the series a greenlight, Starz is already looking at filling up a writers room for the development of Outlander, a new series based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling book series. This isn’t really that surprising. All it points toward is Starz’s likely decision to give Outlander a full series order without going through all the nasty business have ordering a pilot and testing it. Most of the other series that have aired on Starz have gone through a similar development of jumping straight to series. They’ve had great success so far; perhaps they feel like they can do no wrong.
Battlestar Galactica developer Ron Moore, who is heading Outlander, was tasked with hiring four writers to join him on the series, according to Deadline. Joining him are Toni Graphia and Matt Roberts, both of whom have had experience working with Moore on Battlestar Galactica and Caprica respectively.

Outlander, Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling fantasy/romance/adventure series of books, is slowly inching to the screen. David Letterman doesn't tape his show on Fridays, but that doesn't mean there isn't work to be done. Deadline is reporting some serious behind-the-scenes moves today. Matt Roberts, longtime writer and producer on the show, has been named the new head writer after the departures of Justin and Eric Stangel.

The move is smart, given what happened last time Worldwide Pants let writers for the show walk away to develop shows elsewhere. Former writers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas went on to create hit TV show "How I Met Your Mother."
Matt Roberts becomes Letterman's first new head writer in 14 years. He originally started out as an intern in charge of wrangling guests, before eventually bring promoted to segment producer and writer on the show. He enters a more competitive arena than he's used to,...
The Stangel brothers aren't going far, though. They've signed a multi-year development deal with Letterman's Worldwide Pants production company. The move is smart, given what happened last time Worldwide Pants let writers for the show walk away to develop shows elsewhere. Former writers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas went on to create hit TV show "How I Met Your Mother."

Exclusive: I’ve just learned that one of the longtime writers and producers of Late Show With David Letterman, Matt Roberts, is becoming the new head writer effective immediately. The previous head writers Justin and Eric Stangel will remain as writers and producers with the show but also get a fat new multiyear development deal with Worldwide Pants, the production company run by Letterman and Rob Burnett. ”The Stangel brothers are going to remain with the show as part of the deal because we need them,” Rob Burnett just told me. ”These guys are as good as it gets.” The twosome have had an unusally long and successful 14-year run as Letterman’s head writers and now will turn a lot of their attention to coming up with TV shows in any format for Worldwide Pants. “For people like this super valuable to the show, this deal keeps these guys from walking,...

In the below gallery you'll find a look at the covers, 11 of them courtesy of Tfaw (click the link for pre-order info). As for that elusive 12th cover (the final picture you'll see in the gallery), EW provided the following details: The twelfth variant cover will only be available to fans who buy tickets for the zombie-filled The Walking Dead Escape obstacle course event, which is taking place at San Diego’s Petco Park on the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of Comic-Con weekend. Even rockers need to rest sometimes. 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts is leaving the band "to focus on his health," according to the band's website. Roberts, who is one of the band's three founding members, has spent nearly 20 years with the group and sold over 20 million albums worldwide. "3 Doors Down will always have a special place in my heart and it saddens me to take this time off," he said in a statement. "But my health has to be my first priority." Per the band's website, Roberts "has unfortunately, dealt with health and circulation problems and those issues have only been exacerbated by performing nearly 300 dates each year with the band." So another year has passed and its time for another round of awards for the people who make the television shows we like to watch.
Television is interesting these days. Never before have we seen such great, creative output. Never before have we been subjected to such drivel. It all gets paraded before us tonight, as we watch the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards (handed out, it should be noted, by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) on CBS, CTV in Canada.

Interesting that the Emmys chose to introduce the 2009 edition of the Primetime awards by harkening back to the early days of television. Especially as the business of television has never been closer to a complete collapse. Oh, announcer who is trying so hard to sound like a TV host from the '50s. You don't sound at all like you're a three pack-a-day smoker.
