Radio broadcast company Audacy is reorganizing its podcast division under the new branding of Audacy Podcasts.

There are no layoffs as part of the move, nor any changes to the content slates, or operational or reporting changes.

The We Can Do Hard Things podcast — hosted by bestselling author Glennon Doyle, her wife Abby Wambach and her sister Amanda Doyle — has reached a multiyear extension with Audacy.
The podcast was initially conceived as a solo project for Glennon Doyle following the success of her 2020 memoir Untamed, but talking to a microphone alone in the closet where she writes just felt “boring.” So, after listening to a few recommended podcasts, a lightbulb went off — “Oh, podcasts are conversations!” — and she asked Amanda, who is also vp and general counsel of their non-profit Together Rising, to come on board. Wambach, a now-retired Olympic soccer player, appeared as a guest before becoming an official co-host.
They’re also rebranding — it’s now called We Can Do Hard Things (dropping the “with Glennon Doyle” to reflect that it’s a group effort) — and has new cover art that shows all three of them.

When creators of the Netflix docuseries Quarterback selected three NFL playmakers to shadow for the 2022-23 season, they couldn’t possibly be certain that one, Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes, would go on to win the Super Bowl; another, the Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins, would have the season of his life; and the third, the Atlanta Falcons’ Marcus Mariota, would be benched, adding a poignant undertone to balance out the triumphalism.
Netflix’s bet on these three quarterbacks paid off handsomely, both narratively and commercially. With 3.3 million views and 21.4 million hours viewed, per the streamer, the series ranked third among original streaming shows (and fifth among all titles) for its opening week, according to Nielsen — showing Netflix can compete in the sports space even without live rights. The quarterbacks themselves also have expressed satisfaction with the end product.

It would be reductive to say podcasts are having a moment right now. The industry, which is expected to generate 4 billion in revenue by 2024, can trace its roots back to the days of radio, when creators were making podcasts long before Ben Hammersley coined the name. Kim Kardashian is a firm believer in second chances. In the trailer for Hillary and Chelsea Clinton‘s new docuseries, “Gutsy”, Kim talks about her work within the criminal justice system and why she so strongly believes in second chances.
“To throw someone’s life away when people really do make changes…I just believe in second chances,” Kim, who was caught by cameras in January filming the series, tells Hillary and Chelsea.
In photos taken at the time, the trio was seen at the Hot & Cool Cafe in Canoga Park, California, where they were joined by a camera crew.
Unlike Kim’s trip to the White House, her meeting with Hillary and Chelsea was a bit more casual, with the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum rocking a shiny black trench coat, lime green thigh-high boots and a pair of black sunglasses. Kim paired her outfit with black leather...

Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea are hitting the road in their new docuseries “Gutsy,” talking to inspiring women and trying bold new activities along the way. In the first trailer for the series, we see the former women of the White House rappelling over waterfalls, putting out fires — and bowling with Wanda Sykes.
According to Apple TV+, the series “shows Hillary and Chelsea as you’ve never seen them before, revealing their special mother-daughter bond and the unique, multi-generational way they approach the important and timely issues highlighted in each episode.” Those issues are raised as part of “a thought-provoking journey to speak with pioneering women artists, activists, community leaders and everyday heroes who show us what it truly means to be gutsy.”
We see a few of those famous faces in the footage, including Kate Hudson and her mom Goldie Hawn, Kim Kardashian and more. But, the series isn’t limited to actors.

Beginning Aug. 23, 2022, the monthly price of an ESPN+ subscription will rise from 6.99 to 9.99, while the annual subscription will increase from 69.99 to 99.99.
The 43 price hike for ESPN+ only impacts the standalone service and will not increase the cost of the Disney Bundle, which includes ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu. It will also not affect the current cost for UFC pay-per-view events on the app.
In a statement to TheWrap, an ESPN representative said, “While it is a significant change to the price, it’s reflective of the increased scope, scale and value of ESPN+ as we continue to add significantly to both live sports and original programs and series, and it is part of an established plan to ensure ESPN+ is a profitable and strong long-term business.”

Eli Manning knows a thing or two (it’s two) about the Super Bowl. More specifically, the New York Giants great knows a thing or two about beating Tom Brady in the Super Bowl.
This diehard Giants fan asked Manning how a quarterback can prepare to beat the legendary Brady, whom during Eli’s playing days quarterbacked the New England Patriots and now plays the position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Academy Award–winning actor Natalie Portman and a group of predominantly female founders were awarded the rights to bring a National Women’s Soccer League team to Los Angeles in 2022, Variety’s sister site Sportico reports.
Portman and tech venture capitalist Kara Nortman, media and gaming entrepreneur Julie Uhrman and venture capitalist Alexis Ohanian, who led the investment with his fund, Initialized Capital, are sidelining the traditional ownership model. Founding the Nwsl’s 11th team through an expansive investor ownership group that includes a number of Hollywood, tech, venture, media and sports stars, the startup-like setup is itself as notable as the names behind it.
Twelve former U.S. Women’s National Team players, including FIFA World Cup champions Julie Foudy, Mia Hamm, Lauren Cheney Holiday and Abby Wambach were also announced as part of the founding investor group, as are actors Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria, Uzo Aduba, America Ferrera and Lilly Singh,...

Black Women Activists and Stars to Run White Stars’ Instragram Accounts for #ShareTheMicNow Campaign
All day Wednesday, dozens of prominent Black women in Hollywood, fashion, business, literature and political activism will be taking over the Instagram accounts of white women including Julia Roberts and Elizabeth Warren, as part of the #ShareTheMicNow campaign, which aims to amplify the voices and stories of Black women.
Created by Bozoma Saint John, Cmo at Endeavor, fashion designer Stacey Bende, and bestselling writers Luvvie Ajayi Jones and Glennon Doyle, the campaign will see 46 Black women run the accounts of 46 white women. “When the world listens to women, it listens to white women. For far too long, Black women’s voices have gone unheard, even though they’ve been using their voices loudly for centuries to enact change,” #ShareTheMicNow said in a press release. “Today, more than ever, it is Necessary that we create a unifying action to center Black women’s lives, stories, and calls to action. We need to listen to Black women.

A new social media campaign launching Wednesday called #ShareTheMicNow will have Black women speak from the Instagram accounts of white women who have large platforms from Julia Roberts to Gwenyth Paltrow, Hilary Swank, Alex Morgan and Kourtney Kardashian. In the initial broad coalition of women, organizer Bozoma Saint John, Chief Marketing Officer at Endeavor, will take over Kourtney Kardashian’s account; Kahlana Barfield Brown will take over Julia Roberts’ account; Latham Thomas will take over Gwenyth Paltrow’s account; Angelica Ross will take over Hilary Swank’s account; and Ibtihaj Muhammad will take over Alex Morgan’s account.
#ShareTheMicNow wants to magnify “Black women and the important work they’re doing in order to catalyze the change that will only come when we truly hear each other’s voices,” the group said in a statement Tuesday. It “encourages Black and white women in relationship to recreate this action in their own spaces.

(Updated With Sam Gores’ Memo) The future of the Paradigm Talent Agency could lay in Casey Wasserman’s hands.
While we hear talks for the LA28 Olympics chair to take over the once lucrative music assets of the Sam Gores-run company are still pretty fluid, there is no doubt that conversations are being had that would be a big move for the grandson of Hollywood’s one-time kingpin Lew Wasserman.
Reps for sports and entertainment agency boss Wasserman had no comment on any possible deal for part of Paradigm. Reps for the struggling agency did not reply to request for comment on the matter.
