If you miss out on watching a Novak Djokovic match at this stage of his career, know you are missing from witnessing history unfold before your eyes.
When the dust settled on Monday night on Court Philippe-Chatrier, Djokovic broke a two-man tie for the most Grand Slam match wins in the Open Era in another epic comeback against Francisco Cerundolo of Argentina to reach the Roland Garros quarterfinal.
Less than 48 hours earlier, Djokovic tied the all-time record of 369 Grand Slam match wins with arch-rival Roger Federer after producing a late-night escape against Lorenzo Musetti in the third round, fighting back from two sets to one down to win five sets at 3 a.m Sunday morning.
The match ultimately set the record for the latest finish at Roland Garros, but Djokovic recovered in time, both mentally and physically, for another grueling five-setter.

The countdown to the premiere of Roger Federer's upcoming documentary, 'Twelve Final Days,' has just begun, and a full trailer has now been released.
As the title of the sports documentary suggests, the 100-minute film will chronicle the final 12 days of Federer's professional tennis career, from his emotional retirement message in never-before-seen footage captured on camera to his final match at the Laver Cup.
Prime Video initially announced that it would stream the documentary worldwide on June 20th, and it has now released an official two-minute trailer of the same, in which Federer granted exclusive access to Academy Award-winning director Asif Kapadia and his camera crew to film the final few moments of his career.
The trailer opens with Federer sitting in his living room and saying he is "feeling stressed" as he preps to read his retirement message from a script, the same one he would share on social media.

Roger Federer offers a tearful goodbye to a celebrated tennis career in the trailer for Asif Kapadia’s feature sports documentary Federer: Twelve Final Days, which dropped on Monday ahead of a June 10 world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
As the curtain comes down on his 24 years of competitive play in professional tennis, Federer struggles to contain his emotions in what the doc’s producers call a home video never intended for public viewing. “I thought until this morning I had emotions in check, but I can feel it coming up,” a vulnerable Federer says at one point in the feature documentary as his final tournament match approaches.
Federer: Twelve Final Days is directed by Kapadia, who is best known for documentaries like Amy, about the late Amy Winehouse, Senna, about Formula 1 race car driving legend Ayrton Senna, and a film about soccer great Diego Maradona.

Novak Djokovic's marathon five-set win over Lorenzo Musetti at the 2024 Roland Garros was a landmark achievement.
The Serbian star equaled one of the all-time records in tennis history, which was held by Roger Federer. The victory over the Italian on Saturday (but finished Sunday morning) was Djokovic's 369th match win of his Grand Slam career.
Following a slight change in the day's schedule on Court Philippe-Chatrier, the top seed had to wait at least a few hours before he arrived on the match court.
He came within a set of losing and relinquishing the No. 1 ranking but produced a great comeback in the fourth set before running away with the match down the stretch.
The match set the record for the latest finish at Roland Garros, and Djokovic would exit the venue past 3 a.m. on Sunday. The win takes him on level terms with Federer at the four majors.

Network executives once came to the upfronts on a mission to get advertisers excited about a handful of new series coming in the fall. This year, TV’s big players took a T-shirt cannon approach.
Every one of the major presentations during the May 13-15 sprint in midtown Manhattan — NBCUniversal, Fox, Disney, Amazon, Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix — emphasized the breadth of the company’s content offerings. Call it the everything-everywhere-all-at-once strategy for the streaming age.
As always, common themes emerged across the week. “Connections” was the buzziest of buzzwords used by executives pitching their hearts out from the stage. Without question, the song of Upfronts ’24, the one heard at most if not all events, was Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’Em.”
After sorting through the firehose of shows and spin, here are a few trends that stood out this year.
1) Star-Power Surge
Last year, the writers strike kept boldface names from appearing at the upfronts.

Louis Vuitton is reviving its Core Values campaign with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
The campaign, shot by iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz, features the tennis champions, a rare off-the-court pairing, ascending to the summit of Italy’s Dolomites mountain range. The imagery fits the campaign’s tagline: “There are Journeys that turn into Legends.”
The newly released campaign features 42-year-old Federer and 37-year-old Nadal 3,000 meters high, standing tall on the mountain peak. In the imagery, Federer sports a Monogram Christopher backpack while Nadal is pictured with the Monogram Eclipse version.
For the campaign, Nadal and Federer are not competitors but instead companions for one another on the journey up the mountain — a visual metaphor for their careers which have been “marked by deep mutual respect and friendship,” according to the luxury brand.

Every week, hosts Lesley Goldberg (West Coast TV editor) and Daniel Fienberg (chief TV critic) break down the latest TV news with context from the business and critical sides, welcome showrunners, executives and other guests, and provide a critical guide of what to watch (or skip, as the case may be).
Here’s how this week’s episode plays out:

Will Ferrell, Anthony Mackie, Seth Meyers, The Other Black Girl and Not Dead Yet lead the week’s non-upfronts TV industry headlines.

It used to be all about the trailers and the broadcast fall schedules. Now those are largely a thing of the past as the media sector’s upfront presentations to Madison Avenue ad buyers continue to evolve.

At the Amazon upfront, Reese Witherspoon appearing in character as Legally Blonde’s Elle Woods wasn’t even the actress’ best effort of the morning. That came about 45 minutes before her presentation wrapper, when she scolded her You’re Cordially Invited co-star Will Ferrell for bragging about his romantic comedy prowess.
“I’m the fucking queen of looking cute while sleeping,” said Witherspoon, referring to that moment in every rom-com when one actor lovingly looks at the other while their eyes are closed. This delighted the crowd at the tech giant’s first-ever upfront presentation, as did much of star-packed show — once they got in, of course. Slow lines stretched down South Street, prompting a half-hour delay for the Pier 36 event.
“Thank you for whatever you went through to get in this room,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, when she finally took the stage. “I know it was a lot.

Challengers is finally out in theaters! Wrapping up the promotional tour for the romantic sports drama on Wednesday, Zendaya served up three sporty-glam ensembles—something I anticipated.
The 27-year-old actress, who plays tennis prodigy-turned-coach Tashi Duncan in the tennis-themed film, has had an exciting fashion-filled press tour showcasing a series of stunning ensembles inspired by the film. Law Roach, of course, has a fair share of the credit for dressing up Zendaya and turning her into one of today’s most stylish celebrities.
Capping up the promotional tour in style, the Dune star threw in her last three tennis-inspired outfits for the film’s final press run.

Zendaya plays a former tennis player turned coach, Tashi Duncan, in her upcoming Challengers. Following her roles in the Spider-Man franchise and Dune, Zendaya was presented with a new type of challenge for this Luca Guadagnino directorial. During a recent interview, the actress revealed that she devised a very unique plan to perfectly play the role of a tennis pro.
Challengers (2024)
It was extremely hard for the Euphoria fame to elevate her tennis playing skills to an elite level. Despite being trained by some of the most renowned names in the field, the 27-year-old struggled to crack the perfect technique. Ultimately, she devised a unique idea and saw it more as a dance, which helped her to perfectly fake it on camera.

Roger Federer — who’s about to get the sports doc treatment on Amazon — has had a busy few days in Los Angeles.
On March 10, he attended the Oscars for the second time with his wife Mirka, and afterward hit the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Two nights later, Federer and eyewear company Oliver Peoples threw a celebrity-studded dinner at Sunset Tower — attended by the likes of Trevor Noah, Sharon Stone, Edgar Ramirez, Maria Sharapova, Jay Ellis and Lindsey Vonn — to celebrate his new sunglasses line with the brand.
And while there’s no date yet set for his documentary, Federer recently saw a screening of the feature-length film, which is helmed by Oscar-winning director Asif Kapadia (Amy) and co-director Joe Sabia.
The tennis great told GQ that he was emotionally walloped by watching the doc and reliving moments that are in the film, which follows the last 12 days of his pro...

Watch spotting at the Oscars is always catnip for timepiece lovers, as the biggest stars walk the red carpet wearing a parade of hyped horological mechanisms by the likes of Omega, Vacheron Constantin, Jacob & Co., Iwc, Cartier and Rolex (typically their own as that brand doesn’t gift or lend its pieces).
Falling into that latter category at Oscars 2024 was John Cena, who appeared nearly naked onstage during the telecast to announce the award for best costume design.
In addition to his modesty garment and a pair of Birkenstocks, the only other item the actor sported was his own Rolex Explorer II watch, which featured a white dial and an arrow-shaped 24-hour hand, as spotted by Watch Pro. The watch, which can display two time zones simultaneously, retails for $9,650.
Apparently, even when you’re naked at the Academy Awards, you don’t want to be without a trusty timepiece.

On Oscar night, details matter. Who are you wearing? What are you nominated for? Who won? Just don’t expect everyone to know the answers.
“What movie won?” Rick Hilton asked as he and wife Kathy Hilton assumed position at the end of a glamorous queue to get into Vanity Fair’s 30th anniversary Oscar party in Beverly Hills on Sunday after 10 p.m. They asked their son, Kathy says, but no clue. Fortunately, a gentleman standing directly in front of the couple had the answer. “It was Oppenheimer,” he said, not mentioning the awkwardness of Al Pacino’s best picture reveal. Some details can be saved for Monday morning. Plus, there are more rapid-fire questions to field.
What movie is that? Is it based on a true story? Who was the emcee?
“Oh, Jimmy Kimmel. I like him,” Rick said, smiling, in a totally relatable moment because who doesn’t love Jimmy Kimmel?...

Oscar week is finally here! Ask anyone who has been in the thick of awards season and they’ll likely let out a huge sigh followed by exasperated admission that this has been one of the most hectic runs in recent memory. The condensed calendar, forced by last year’s dual strikes, could translate to more lively bashes, however, as there’s light at the end of the tunnel with Sunday’s Oscars. That can only mean that champagne is currently popping at A-list bashes across Los Angeles, and The Hollywood Reporter is on the scene everywhere from Vanity Fair and Elton John to MPTF’s Night Before. See below for the roundup of all the red carpet action.

It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly a decade since the last film from Gore Verbinski, 2016’s A Cure for Wellness, but after being attached to a handful of projects, the director is finally looking to return. Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, and Juno Temple are attached to star in his next feature Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, Deadline reports.

Novak Djokovic is one of the most famous and successful tennis players in the world. The Serbian star began his professional career in 2003 and he’s been impressive to watch ever since. Today he holds the all-time record of men’s major singles titles.
But there comes a point in every Goat’s career when they’re asked about retiring especially after some of the other greats they competed against for so long have already called it a career. For Djokovic, those athletes are Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. In 2022, Federer announced his retirement from the sport after more than two decades. And in 2023, Nadal said that 2024 would be his final season.
Now, Djokovic is being asked about his future. Here’s what he had to say.

Andy Murray is uncertain about how much interest a farewell tour from him would generate, since his retirement is nearing.
Murray has admitted that 2024 could be his last season. He is set to turn 37 in May of this year, and it is natural that the Brit cannot definitively rule out ending his career.
The longevity of Murray's career is remarkable after his physical issues. He has played with a metal hip since 2019, with many thinking that competing with that would be impossible. However, Murray proved them wrong and has remained a strong player.
Murray enjoyed a huge amount of success before his hip issues. He is a three-time Grand Slam champion, including twice at Wimbledon. The 36-year-old also won Olympic gold twice and reached No. 1 in the world in 2016.
Yet, despite his many achievements, Murray told BBC 5 Live Sport he has doubts about whether fans would come out to see...

Andrey Rublev has put together a really solid week at the 2024 Hong Kong Open, making it to the final, and he'll take on Emil Ruusuvuori for the trophy.
Rublev made a habit out of colleting these trophies, and he gets 2024 started the right way. The first event in the new year and the first chance to get another trophy. This week was primarily to prepare for the Australian Open, but any time you can get a trophy is a good weak.
It wasn't a week where Rublev demonstrated tennis without flaws. He was pushed a few times and will get pushed more in the final. Ruusuvori is a tricky player capable of hitting the ball really hard, and sometimes that's all you really need.
Head-to-head:
Rublev and Ruusuvori have played before, and while the Russian leads 2-1, the H2H proves that it's an interesting matchup. The most recent of...

Rafael Nadal's comeback at the 2024 Brisbane International has exceeded expectations, and the Spaniard is delighted with his progress.
Nadal was granted a wild card into the Atp 250 event, which marked precisely a year since he last played on tour. Having required a lengthy but successful hip surgery in order to prolong his career for at least one more season, his return has been a highly satisfying one.
Even though Nadal has dealt with a long list of injuries throughout his playing career, his absence in the past year is the longest layoff of his career, and he even lost his proud record of being ranked in the world's Top 10 for over 900 weeks.
In just his second visit to Brisbane, the 37-year-old has played with newfound confidence and verve and toppled the likes of Dominic Thiem and Jason Kubler to reach the quarterfinal stage, where he lost to Jordan Thompson.

Viewership numbers of the inaugural season of Netflix's tennis docuseries Break Point have been released in addition to a comparability report with other sports documentaries.
The first season of Break Point revealed a behind-the-scenes look at the Atp and Wta stars competing in all four Grand Slam tournaments and was filmed during the 2022 season. It was subsequently released intermittently in 2023.
The first five episodes premiered on January 13th, 2023, and the second part, also with five episodes, came out towards the end of June 2023, at the same time when Netflix's viewership statistics had been compiled for analysis.
The series is targeted at telling the story of a sport in transition and has coincided with the end of the glorious reigns of legends like Serena Williams and Roger Federer and the emergence of young players like Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune - both of whom feature in Season 2.

Novak Djokovic has shown his class by taking time to thank the United Cup ball kids in Perth, and take some of their questions.
Djokovic had lost that day to Alex de Minaur at the event, and Team Serbia were also eliminated from the competition as a whole after losing their quarterfinal tie to the host nation Australia.
The world No. 1 also had the stress of an injury concern on his mind. Djokovic had to take a medical timeout with a wrist complaint, which is particularly stressful for him with the Australian Open starting date so close.
However, that did not stop Djokovic from creating memories for the hardworking ball kids at the tournament, who so often go underappreciated for the amount of work they put in at Atp and Wta events.
In a video shared by Eurosport below, Djokovic thanks the ball kids and all the volunteers for their work.

Rafael Nadal now has more match wins than another tennis great, courtesy of his victory at the 2024 Brisbane International.
Nadal made his return to Atp singles action after close to 12 months away from the sport against Dominic Thiem, who he played in the final of the French Open in both 2017 and 2018.
It was a very successful comeback to the singles court for Nadal. He defeated the 2020 US Open champion 7-5 6-1, playing absolutely superbly in the second set in particular, where he completely dominated Thiem.
The victory made it 1,069 Atp singles match wins for Nadal throughout his career. That may seem somewhat insignificant at first for a man who has racked up the incredible number of wins that the 22-time Grand Slam champion has.
However, the triumph in Brisbane means Nadal now has the outright fourth most Atp match wins in the history of the open era. And he has...

Rafael Nadal has played tennis on the professional circuit for over two decades, so when he takes a bird's eye view of proceedings, he can instantly spot drawbacks.
Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion and a winner of other significant accomplishments in his career, is often considered part of the golden standard of men's tennis alongside his longtime rivals Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
With Federer the first to exit the stage and Nadal potentially joining him on that parade at the end of 2024 (even though his long-term future in the game remains uncertain for now), men's tennis faces a gargantuan task to fill that void.
The Atp is already looking to explore more avenues by expanding tennis' reach to untapped markets like Saudi Arabia. The men's governing body has also announced significant reforms to the Next Gen brand to improve young players' pathway of launching to the top.
