The Indian Celebs Making Their Mark As Beauty Brand Ambassadors(Photo Credit –PR)
Thanks to the rising cost of living and soaring inflation, more of us are looking to tighten our belts when it comes to unnecessary spending. However, one sector that’s weathering the storm rather well is the health and beauty sector. In 2023, India’s cosmetics market was worth an estimated 2.32 billion rupees. In 2024, Indian consumers are forecast to spend more disposable income on beauty and cosmetics than ever before. Global brands are taking note of the enthusiastic spending power of the subcontinent.
Why Are More Beauty Brands Recruiting Indian Brand Ambassadors?
No longer an emerging market, Indian consumers have become a key demographic for established names in the cosmetics sector. From budget-friendly brands like CeraVe to familiar favourites like L’Oréal, beauty and cosmetic stalwarts are making waves in India. Unsurprisingly, this has led to more companies turning...

Gwyneth Paltrow may be an Academy Award-winning actress, but her insane net worth is definitely not just a product of her movie salaries. Around the time of her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in 2014, Gwyneth had an estimated net worth of $140 million. The 46-year-old mother of two first reached A-lister status after starring in Shakespeare in Love (for which her performance won her an Oscar), and she has since appeared in several other popular flicks, her most notable role being that of Pepper Potts in the Iron Man movie franchise. But if acting isn't the only way Gwyneth earns her dough, where else did her insane wealth come from? Besides serving as the face of Estée Lauder and Coach, the actress has a little something called Goop to thank for her millions - ever heard of it?

Imagine a Jenny-from-the-block-goes-to-the-big-city comedy of corporate ambition, naïveté, and success — a movie in the tradition of “Working Girl” and “Baby Boom,” with Jennifer Lopez as Maya, the manager of a Queens superstore, who gets plucked from the outer boroughs like Cinderella to be an executive consultant for a high-end women’s cosmetics company. The trick that makes this possible is a fake resumé (cooked up by her hacker godson), which palms off Maya as a golden product of Harvard, Wharton, the Peace Corps, and Estée Lauder; this means she has to pretend to be all those things. She also, of course, has an office rival, a dark-flashing-eyed climber named Zoe (Vanessa Hudgens). Which of these two can devise the most profitable organic skin-care product?
Now imagine a sudsy Jenny-from-the-block weeper in which Lopez’s Maya lives with the perfect dude, a baseball coach named Trey (Milo Ventimiglia), who’s eager...

Just in: You can thank Victoria Beckham for David Beckham's flawless skin. "My approach to grooming was always to steal my wife's products," the former soccer star told Into the Gloss. "That was kind of it, really. I'd always been aware of how I wanted my hair to look, stuff like that, but I was also in a career where I was always outside...I had to take care of my skin because of that, but the way I looked after it was to steal my wife's stuff, because I know she has the best." Victoria, who has been working with Estée Lauder on makeup and skin-care, believes "Glowing skin is all you really need," and has surely spread this message to the members of her...

Nicole Holofcener could have directed “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” She was supposed to make the movie (she rewrote Jeff Whitty), with Julianne Moore as its star. Then, six days before production was scheduled to begin, the movie fell apart over creative differences with Moore, and Fox Searchlight asked Holocener to wait and start over again. “I felt I had already made it,” she told me. “Every outfit, every location, every actor cast. It was a labor of love. It was traumatic. Terrible.”
She let it go, and the studio and producer Anne Carey moved on with Holofcener’s first choice for her replacement, Marielle Heller (“The Diary of a Teenage Girl”) in the chair. Indeed, Holofcener handed over a box of research and wished her old Sundance lab protege well. “If anyone is going to make this movie, I’m glad it’s you,” Heller remembered her saying. “It’s yours,...

To shoot “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” a biopic about literary forger and writer Lee Israel, director Marielle Heller and her production team had to re-create New York City in the 1990s on a shoestring budget. A few destinations, such as the Greenwhich Village gay bar Julius or the cavernous Upper West Side food emporium Zabar’s, are vestiges of that period. But in more cases than not, the crew had to avoid CitiBike racks and unearth the few remaining phone booths. It was a race against time.
“We were trying to shoot in bookstores, but they kept shutting down,” says Heller on a recent September afternoon, after debuting her film at the Toronto Film Festival. “We found this great store during pre-production, but it closed before we could shoot in it.”

Melissa McCarthy isn't going for laughs in her latest movie. In the biographical drama Can You Ever Forgive Me?, the actress portrays Lee Israel, the best-selling celebrity biographer who once made her living profiling the likes of Katherine Hepburn, Estée Lauder and other stars in the '70s and '80s. Unable to get published, Lee began forging letters by deceased actors and writers, abetted by her pal Jack Hock (Richard E. Grant). E! News' Zuri Hall caught up with McCarthy over the weekend when the movie premiered at the 2018 Toronto Film Festival, where the actress explained what drew her to the darker role. "I always look to the character. For me, it doesn't matter if it's comedic or...

For a comedian like Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey, it takes “serious” roles to get respect, but not so Melissa McCarthy, who earned an Oscar nomination for her breakout performance in “Bridesmaids” and has been a critical darling ever since. Still, that shouldn’t stop her from branching out, and it’s our gain that she does in “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” an unexpectedly profound, incredibly true dramedy in which she plays Lee Israel, a miserable Manhattan author who resorted to forging letters by famous writers in order to pay the bills — and found the basis for her most successful book in the process.
Dowdy, half-soused, and frowning for nearly the entire running time, McCarthy earns nearly as many laughs playing this curmudgeonly cat lady as she does in her more irrepressible comedic parts. But, of course (and this is why critics love watching cut-ups reveal their more introspective...
