The trailer for Longlegs, Nicolas Cage’s new horror movie, makes it looks like a serial killer film. Interestingly, Cage compared the film to a character from Pinocchio. However, the film was directed by the son of a horror movie legend.
Nicolas Cage said ‘Longlegs’ is about ‘a possessed Geppetto’
Anthony Perkins was a talented actor who appeared in numerous films and television shows, but he will always be most remembered for playing Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. Bates was one of the first realistic serial killers to be portrayed onscreen in an American movie. Perkins would reprise the role in three sequels. His son, Oz Perkins, is now a horror director known for the offbeat films Gretel & Hansel and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House. He also directed Cage’s upcoming film, Longlegs.

Made on a budget of less than $100,000, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (watch it Here) earned more than $6 million during its global release in early 2023, so not only did the sequel Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 have a substantially higher budget, that success opened the door to an entire cinematic universe that will consist of at least one more Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey sequel and other horror movies inspired by children’s stories, like Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, Bambi: The Reckoning, and Pinocchio: Unstrung. Premiere Entertainment is currently presenting Pinocchio: Unstrung to potential buyers at the Cannes Film Market – and Variety was able to learn more information on the project, including the fact that the movie will be made with “little reliance on VFX and feature the character of Pinocchio as a practical doll. Shrek 2 turns twenty years old today, that is, May 19. The film was released all the way back in 2004 as a sequel to one of the best and most entertaining animated comedy films known to mankind. The sequel was undoubtedly a success in terms of both box office collection and reviews. Shrek 2 made $935 million at the worldwide box office which is enough proof that fans of the beloved green ogre absolutely loved the movie.
Shrek 2 (2004) | DreamWorks Animation
The best part about the sequel has got to be the many, many pop-culture references in the film. From a mermaid who looks quite like Ariel from The Little Mermaid to an iconic line from Seinfeld, Shrek 2 left no stone unturned to give its audience a gazillion easter eggs to look out for. However, the Mission: Impossible tribute in the film takes the cake for the best reference.

In this first look from “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” — from the makers of slasher horror hit “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” — Martin Portlock plays an evil, murderous and disfigured version of the children’s character.
The Jagged Edge Productions film — being sold by ITN Studios in Cannes — follows Wendy Darling as she strikes out in an attempt to rescue her brother Michael from “the clutches of the evil Peter Pan.” Along the way she meets Tinkerbell, who in this twisted version of the story will be seen taking heroine, convinced that it’s pixie dust. Scott Chambers writes and directs while Rhys Frake-Waterfield, who directed “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey,” produces.
The cast includes Megan Placito, Peter Desouza-Feighoney (“The Popes Exorcist”), Kit Green, Martin Portlock (“Wolf Manor”), Nicholas Woodeson, Kierston Wareing (“Fish Tank”), Olumide Olorunfemi (“Venom: Let There Be Carnage”), Teresa Banham, Charity Kase and Campbell Wallace.
Currently shooting in the U.

It seems like every other week there’s a new horror release based on some classic literary character. Whether it’s Pinocchio or Winnie the Pooh, there doesn’t seem to be a sign of them slowing down. And this time their sights are on Cinderella. I’m sure you can imagine all the ways that classic tale can be given a horror slant, with Cinderella’s awful treatment by her stepfamily. The movie itself has some fun moments (you can check out my review Here) but the real highlight is Natasha Henstridge as the Fairy Godmother. She relishes every moment of screen time and looks to be having a blast. So I was excited to be able to talk to her about the part.
Plus, if you know me, you know I’m going to ask Ms. Henstridge about some random horror movie she’s in. The culprit this...

The first trailer for the upcoming follow-up to Jon Favrau’s 2019 Live-Action Remake of The Lion King was recently released on YouTube. Over the past couple of days, the trailer has gained over 6 million views but has been poorly received as the trailer currently has 222K dislikes to 104 Likes.
Much of the criticism stems from the continued pushback of Disney’s conveyor belt of remakes over the past couple of years, with their 2023 remake of The Little Mermaid becoming the most downvoted Hollywood film trailer in history. Criticism over the film allegedly changing the lore and backstory of certain characters has also been brought up.

A rare collection of artwork featuring concepts for Disneyland rides and areas that never were built has been sold at auction. Heritage Auctions handled the sales earlier this month in Beverly Hills, California.
The event spotlighted hand-drawn sketches from the Bradley/Bushman Early Disneyland Archives, which conceptualized rides and themed lands for the Disney theme park in Anaheim.
Among the theme park plans and concepts was an “Anything Can Happen” land, and plans for underwater aquariums. In the latter, guests would have walked into the mouths of the crocodile from Peter Pan or Monstro, the whale from Pinocchio, to view marine life.
Another concept detailed an 80-foot-tall statue of Goofy dressed as a clown. The colossus would have been located where the theme park’s Sleeping Beauty Castle now stands.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga director George Miller is currently in Las Vegas attending CinemaCon where he has received an award for International Career Achievement in Filmmaking. During the Q&a, George Miller touched upon his influences and explained why Pinocchio is his favourite movie.
“It’s because it was one of the first stories I saw that ticked every box,” Miller explained. “When we watch a film, we watch it as a full human being. We watch it viscerally, emotionally, intellectually, mythologically, in every way. And the stories that seem to endure are those that basically have that richness right through all the storytelling.“
Miller continued, saying Pinocchio has “got surface charm, the journey of the character going from a wooden boy to a real boy, going through terrible temptations, getting very brutal, exciting, his father in the whale, and so on. It’s just about as epic a story as you can get.

The Twisted Childhood Universe, also known as the Poohniverse, is taking shape. In case you've yet to be clued into what this is all about, the cinematic universe is set to take classic childhood tales now in the public domain and give them a horror movie twist. Things kicked off with the not-so-great "Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey," a film that earned bad reviews but made good money. Now the killer Pooh Bear is back with "Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2," a film that's defying the odds and actually garnering good reviews.
Things aren't stopping there, though. The next film in the line-up is "Bambi: The Reckoning," a dark and twisted retelling of "Bambi." And this is a far cry from the gentle young deer seen in the classic Disney film. No, this deer is big, mean, and out for blood. The first "Bambi: The Reckoning" teaser awaits you above, and...

Oh dear. The Poohniverse is expanding. Umbrella Entertainment has released the first teaser for the next installment of their B-movie horror franchise centered on horrifying versions of beloved children’s characters.
In the teaser for Bambi: The Reckoning, two hunters are seen practicing shooting in the woods with a dead bird tied to a tree. “You ever shot a deer?” one hunter asks the other. “No. Have you?” the second hunter replies. “Yeah, once,” the first hunter says. The teaser seems to imply that this hunter is the same one who killed Bambi’s mother.
The final shots of the teaser show a vicious and angry deer attacking a car. The vehicle turns completely over before the deer lets out a guttural roar. The main plot of the film is said to follow characters Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who are in the car wreck and...

Producers Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey are building a cinematic universe out of horror movies based on public domain family friendly stories – including Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, that film’s sequels, Pinocchio Unstrung, and Bambi: The Reckoning, which is inspired by Felix Salten’s 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods. The Bambi horror movie started filming back in January, aiming to make its way out into the world sometime this fall, and today a teaser trailer has arrived online. You can check it out in the embed above.

Lies of P was a much-awaited Soulslike title that launched in September last year. Developed by Round8, the action-rpg draws its inspirations from the very best of the genre, primarily Bloodborne, adapting its iconic gothic aesthetic. The protagonist essentially being Pinocchio adds to its quirkiness.
It’d be foolish to assume, though, that Lies of P is simply apes the games made by the legendary Hidetaka Miyazaki, and doesn’t do anything original. Creative director Jiwon Choi has revealed one key change that sets it apart from other Soulslike games.

The original Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was easily one of the worst films of last year, but based on its outrageous premise and low budget, it managed to turn a profit. That of course means a sequel, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, with all the usual claims of a bigger budget, more kills and better effects. Conspicuously absent were promises of a decent script or acting, however.
Taking place a year after the original, Blood and Honey 2 opens with the introduction of Owl, who looks more like a vulture than anything. He joins Pooh and Piglet in their fun and games, starting with the torture and killing of three scantily clad campers.
Elsewhere, Christopher Robin, now played by Scott Chambers, aka producer Scott Jeffrey,...

Ever since Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, most of the projects that were announced from the non-Disney side of things have been more adult-oriented. One went the stoner comedy route, while another and more popular take was horror with the 2023 slasher film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. Despite primarily negative reviews, the film went somewhat viral online, thus leading to a direct sequel and even starting an entire cinematic universe.
Now it has been announced that a third film in the series is in the works from production company Jagged Edge Productions. The third film will apparently round out the cast of book characters, with not only Rabbit appearing but also Heffalump(s) and Woozle(s). No mention of Jagular(s), though. This film will also apparently have a budget higher of the first two. Disney is most likely not happy with their continued butchering of these classic characters.

British royal family news divulges that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just rebranded their brand, now shilling something called American Riviera Orchard.
What does this mean for the real royals, are they concerned about the Harkles monetizing their titles?
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams sees danger down the road, going so far as to imply that what they want to do is establish an “American Royal Family” brand. Here’s what he has to say about the matter.
Royal Family News – American Riviera Orchard
Fitzwilliams rightfully points out the distressing timing of the Aro, at a time when the royals are reeling from King Charles and Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnoses.
In particular, Meghan launched the American Riviera Orchard thingy on Instagram, complete with a made-up crest and scrawl calligraphy, and this self-promotion came directly after Catherine, the Princess of Wales released an emotional video discussing her cancer diagnosis and treatment.

In news likely to simultaneously delight and appall across the cinema world, a third instalment of IP-bludgeoning slasher ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’ has been confirmed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers of prolific horror banner Jagged Edge Productions.
According to the producers, ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3’ will have a bigger budget than the previous films and will introduce new characters from the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories, including Rabbit, the heffalumps and the woozles. All will no doubt be given sadistic, murderous twists.
The news comes with ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2’ now in U.S. cinemas as part of its 3-day theatrical run via Fathom Events, and just over a year after the release of the first of what is now a quick-fire three-part franchise.

The American Idol star is starring in Spacemen From Planet Judy alongside Phil Hendrie (Rick and Morty), Hal Rudnick (Reno 911), John Mariano (The Offer) and Eric Waddell (Funny You Should Ask).
It begins when all of Earth’s gay males, and two straight men dressed in drag because there was a mix-up in their Halloween costumes, are abducted to the distant planet Judy (named after Judy Garland), the gay haven world of the universe, where they will live in freedom without oppression.
Inadvertently kidnapped, bumbling information technology specialists Mitch (Hendrie) and Lenny (Rudnick) find themselves on an exotic world of constant partying, mingling and cuddling, all run by the Golden Ram Man (Mariano), a mad tyrant who abhors insubordination and seeded grapes.

From pressed pennies to serial killer trophies, collections come in all shapes and sizes. Special assortments do not have to be uniform, nor does their common trait need to be immediately apparent. Just take the menagerie of artifacts in the basement from “Cabin in the Woods” or the museum of haunted items central to “The Conjuring” series. In fact, some of the best collections are really puzzles holding the solutions to even more arcane mysteries.

The prolific low-budget genre labels Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Films have unveiled plans to swing their bloody axe again with Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, a slasher horror pic set to shoot this year ahead of a 2025 release.

In numerous Elden Ring fan theories, various characters have changed stances; some have gone from positive to negative. People have even started suggesting that maybe even Melina, the maiden, and the player’s trusty companion, Torrent, are not as they seem. And these are done in such a way that every reader would agree to it; they would not be able to resist the urge to say, “Maybe it’s true.”
Now, a brand-new fan theory is focusing on one of those characters that fans could not even imagine to be negative. It suggests that Miquella might just be an unexpected mastermind in some of the most destructive things that take place in the Elden Ring!

A Winnie the Pooh slasher film is getting the sequel treatment, and the newly-minted “Twisted Childhood Universe (Tcu)” is getting its first major crossover event.
Just months after Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios made waves for producing Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, a slasher film depicting A.A. Milne’s beloved characters of the Hundred Acre Wood as feral, blood-hungry killers. Despite very, very negative critical reception (it has a 3% on Rotten Tomatoes), the film made $5 million at the box office on a $50,000 budget, and led to other planned horror films featuring children’s characters now in the public domain like Bambi, Pinocchio, and the characters of Peter Pan.

Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble will bring together horror versions of Pooh, Peter Pan, Bambi, & more
Made on a budget of less than $100,000, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (watch it Here) earned more than $6 million during its global release in early 2023, so the sequel Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is set to receive a three-day theatrical run in the United States on March 26, 27, and 28th, courtesy of Fathom Events, ITN Studios, and Jagged Edge Productions. (Tickets can be purchased online at Fathom Events or at participating theatre box offices.) We’ve previously heard that Frake-Waterfield and producer Scott Jeffrey Chambers are planning to create a cinematic universe with the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey films and other horror movies inspired by children’s stories, like Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, Bambi: The Reckoning, and Pinocchio Unstrung. Ah, the magic of the public domain. The arch nemesis of studios and corporations and copyright lawyers everywhere is nothing but a boon to the rest of us, allowing literally anyone to get their hands on famous properties and shamelessly twist and pervert them beyond all recognition. That's precisely what happened with the beloved character of Winnie the Pooh just over two years ago, allowing for a slew of knockoff (and frankly terrible) B-movie horror flicks like "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" and its upcoming sequel. Well, things are about to kick into another gear entirely as an entire shared universe is apparently now in the works.
Just when you thought it was safe to visit the Hundred Acre Wood again. In the bloodiest and most un-family-friendly news we'll probably get this week, Variety revealed that the creative team responsible for "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" is now...

Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 hits theaters March 26, 27, 28th from Fathom Events, a sequel to last year’s viral hit that ended up making nearly $5 million at the box office. ITN Studios & Jagged Edge Productions are all-in on their “Twisted Childhood Universe,” but what’s the end game? As it turns out, they’re planning an Avengers-style mashup.
For starters, the growing “Twisted Childhood Universe” will feature previously announced stand-alone films Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare and Pinocchio Unstrung and introduce new characters such as Sleeping Beauty, The Mad Hatter, and Rabbit from Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey.
All of these characters will come together in Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble in 2025 when the monsters join forces to take down the world.
Blood and Honey 2‘s end credits will feature a first look at the upcoming Poohniverse.

Winnie The Pooh, Pinocchio, Peter Pan and more are set to appear in Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, a horror film from the makers of Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey. More on the story below.
It’s not exactly a secret that Marvel has been struggling recently with diminishing (but still sizable) box office returns, troubled productions and less-than-great reviews for its films. A more cynical writer might say that it’s about time Marvel was dethroned as the ruler of cinematic universes.
It will certainly face some stiff competition from the makers of Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey, who are now setting up their own cinematic universe.
A new film called Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, has been announced, and is set to be released in 2025 according to Variety. The film will see a team-up between familiar heroes such as Winnie The Pooh, Bambi, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter and Sleeping Beauty.

The Elden Ring was released in 2022 and was a massive success. It was special because FromSoftware took a very exciting first step towards making open-world games. And this game blew up; fans loved it, and so did critics, and rightfully so, all thanks to FromSoftware’s dedication to building an unmatched open-world experience. Then came the announcement for Lies of P. This was another soullike game that was very interesting to look at and reminded fans of an age-old game.
Developers Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio were very proud of their new game from day 1. While it was very obviously inspired by FromSoftware’s Bloodborne, it offered its own twist on the genre. But were the developers worried about facing Elden Ring in the field?

Did you know that there is a Child’s Play-inspired film from Mexico? If you didn’t, you can thank Vinegar Syndrome’s new label Degausser Video for making 1993’s Herencia Diabólica available for the masses to watch. Or at least for the Vs hardcore fanbase, Chucky completists and anyone else who needs something like this in their lives.
Director Alfredo Salazar, known for his writing connection to the 70s Santo film series, also serves as the writer here to bring us a film seemingly inspired from the Child’s Play franchise. While it has been recently labeled as the “Mexican Child’s Play” (there’s a special feature on the disc with that very title), the killer doll concept is where the comparison should start and end. Despite having some seeds planted by that franchise, Salazar delivers a story that blossoms into something unique.

Following Strange World, Disney’s new animated feature – Wish – will not be getting a 4K disc release in the UK: just DVD and Blu-ray.
Released in a blaze of publicity at the end of last year was Disney’s latest animated feature, Wish. This one carried the added responsibility of celebrating 100 years of Disney, and while the film’s solid enough, I’d argue it was weighed down by the extra centenary baggage.
Still, it’s entertaining, and looks and sounds superb, which makes it prime fodder for a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray physical media release. However, its muted box office performance means that Disney has opted to limit its physical release to DVD and Blu-ray instead.
This was the same fate that befell Disney’s preceding animated feature, the terrific-looking Strange World. That didn’t ignite the box office, either, and had its home media release slightly restricted.
