Actor-director-producer Sachin Pilgaonkar, who predominantly works in Marathi cinema, has started the shoot of the sequel to his cult comedy ‘Navra Mazha Navsacha’. The film began its shooting in Mumbai.
The original film was released 19 years ago. The sequel marks his 23rd film, and also stars his wife Supriya Pilgaonkar, and Ashok Saraf.
Expressing his excitement, Sachin said in a statement: “The love from the audience for ‘Navra Mazha Navsacha’ is truly heartwarming and after 19 years I am thrilled to present the sequel, featuring an incredible star cast including Ashok Saraf, Supriya Pilgaonkar, and the talented additions of Swapnil Joshi, Hemal Ingle, Nirmiti Sawant and Vaibhav Mangle.”

The creators of ‘Taali’, Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar, have opened up on how Sushmita Sen and transgender social activist Shreegauri Sawant bonded over a ‘common’ factor.
Sushmita will portray one of the boldest avatar as ‘Shreegauri Sawant’ in the upcoming series ‘Taali’.
The teaser gave a sneak peek of the courageous quest of struggles, resilience and triumph of the transgender activist.
Talking about the common bonding factor between Sushmita and Shreegauri, the duo said: “Imagine having to petition to be recognised as a gender. Shreegauri Sawant’s story will reveal how many odds citizens like her have to face.”
“She is a huge inspiration as a human-being who not only triumphed over societal challenges but also adopted the daughter of a deceased AIDS patient. Both Sushmita and Shreegauri Sawant are adoptive mothers, and bonded closely over this common factor,” they shared.
Sushmita is a mother of two adopted daughters.

According to the trade buzz, the films are in the crime thriller genre and are headlined by Marathi superstar Swapnil Joshi.
Says Pandit who seems to be expanding his regional slate every year, “Yes, I wanted to make an edge-of-the-seat, cop thriller in Marathi and these two films fit the bill perfectly. Swapnil is a fantastic actor and the perfect choice for these films and we hope to present him in a very unusual role.”
The films are co-produced by Rahul Dubey and the cast, and the crew are being finalised.

Anjana Sukhani, who was last seen in a minuscule appearance in the recently released Shaandar, is making her debut in Marathi films with an untitled film. The said film is being jointly produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shabina Khan. Buzz is that she will be seen playing an urban Marathi girl who is very traditional and conventional in her thinking.
Speaking about the film, Anjana Sukhani said, "It's an intense love story that's being directed by Swapna Waghmare. I play the romantic lead opposite Swapnil Joshi". When asked about the film, she said, "The film bears the 'typical' stamp of being a 'Sanjay Leela Bhansali' film. This mirrors in the opulence of the sets and even the film's music".
As per news reports, the yet to be titled film should wrap up by December.

The Mns (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) has always been vocal about all the issues that it feels, will affect the common man. It has also been vocal about its take on Bollywood. In a recent move, in lieu of the drought ridden farmers, Mns officials have sent a letter to Bollywood and has asked the Bollywood personalities to come forward to help farmers who are worst affected by the drought-like conditions in Maharashtra state. While on one hand, the said letter applauds personalities like Nana Patekar, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Makarand Annaspure, Mahesh Manjrekar, Jeetendra Joshi, and Swapnil Joshi for their contribution for the cause. On the other hand, the (excerpts) of the letter also clearly state that "If this one way traffic of taking and not giving back (to the society) does not end, then, it is time now to teach them (celebs) a lesson. The selfishness must be stopped now.

Mumbai, Nov 11: Marathi filmmaker Sanjay Jadhav, who has recently delivered a hit film "Duniyadari", says he would love to remake the movie in Hindi.
"The subject of 'Duniyadari' is universal, so I would love to remake the film in Hindi. If I remake it in Hindi, I would need a big star for the film and the right banner, so let's see," Jadhav told Ians.
"So far I have not approached anybody for the remake," he added.
Directed by Jadhav, "Duniyadari" featured Swapnil Joshi, Ankush Choudhary, Urmila Kanitkar and Sai Tamhankar. It is based on the theme of friendship and love.
Jadhav, who is currently busy.

Actors Swapnil Joshi and Vijay Pawar were detained by the customs officials at the Mumbai airport on Tuesday for carrying undeclared Indian currency. They were allowed to leave after being panalized.
The two, along with a girl, Jyoti Pandey, were intercepted soon after stepping out of their flight from Bangkok. The three were carrying nearly Rs. 2 lakh among them, an amount much higher than the permissible limit, an official said.
