How does one go from being “canceled” to returning to the public square, or even just your neighborhood coffeehouse? For that to happen, not only does the canceled person need to reflect on their actions – but so does the group that’s doing the canceling: the social media mob.
“We talk about the Twitter mob as if it’s not us,” Joan Ball, a marketing professor at St. John’s University who also consults social influencers said during TheWrap’s final “Conversations on Cancel Culture” roundtable. “But the Twitter mob is us. Exclusive: Losing Alice star Lihi Kornowski will star in Emil Ben-Shimon’s period drama thriller Jerusalem ’67, which is set during the dramatic and difficult time of the Six-Day War.
It is the first narrative feature about the Six-Day War, which was fought between Israel and Jordan, Syria, and Egypt from June 5-10, 1967. Kornowski will play a 30-year-old civilian who places herself on the war’s front lines.
Tensions built during the months before the war, with Israel reiterating its post-1956 position that the closure of the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping by Egypt would be a cause for war. Israel Defense Forces launched pre-emptive air strikes that crippled Egypt’s air forces and its allies, followed by a successful ground offensive whereby the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip were seized from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan and the Golan Heights from Syria. Swimmer Ryan Lochte has hired New York-based public relations consultant Matthew Hiltzik to pull him from the media riptide over his disputed account of being robbed at gunpoint while in Rio for the Olympics. Hiltzik has helped celebrities including Justin Bieber, Harvey Weinstein and Alec Baldwin in the past. Hiltzik also works with troubled athletes — he helped Mlb star Ryan Braun when he was accused of using performance-enhancing drugs. Lochte’s claim that he and his teammates were robbed — which Brazilian police say is false — could cost him sponsorships and endorsement deals. In a near-case of life imitating art, Amy Pascal and other top Sony executives have had a few meetings with Judy Smith, the crisis-management wiz who inspired the Olivia Pope character on hit ABC drama Scandal, to discuss strategies for dealing with the massive hack attack that led to the controversial pulling of Sony’s movie The Interview and made top Sony executives tabloid fodder when their private emails were made public. A version of this story first appeared in the Jan. 9 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. When public relations specialist Matthew Hiltzik began representing Sony Pictures with PR firm Rubenstein to help it cope with the expanding horror of the hack attack, one of his first moves was to persuade studio co-chair Amy Pascal to attend THR's Dec. 10 Women in Entertainment breakfast. Putting on a strong public face as the studio suffered embarrassing leaks would go a long way toward restoring normalcy on the Sony lot. That effort now seems quaint. Former NBC comedy star and MSNBC interview host Alec Baldwin has announced in a New York Magazine cover story that he is quitting public life after being let go by MSNBC over language he used in an on-the-street rant against a photographer. In the piece, Baldwin calls MSNBC star Rachel Maddow a “phony” who doesn’t have the same passion for the truth off-camera as she appears to have on-camera, according to the interview that was published late last night. In late November, MSNBC and Alec Baldwin‘s camp announced jointly that Baldwin’s Friday show was toast: “We are jointly confirming that Up Late will not continue on MSNBC,” the cable network and Baldwin rep Matthew Hiltzik said. Actor, who reportedly called photographer a 'cocksucking fag', acknowledged he had to take some responsibility
The actor Alec Baldwin has blamed "the fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy" for the decision by MSNBC, the Us cable news channel, to cancel his weekly show after he used offensive language to a photographer.
Baldwin, who was caught on camera apparently calling the photographer a "cocksucking fag", acknowledged he had to take "some responsibility" for his actions but blamed activists for the network's decision on Tuesday to pull the plug on his six-week-old talk show, Up Late with Alec Baldwin.

Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Baldwin attended the late "Sopranos" actor James Gandolfini's funeral Thursday morning, but while they were among mourners at the New York City church, Hilaria's Twitter account appeared to remain active. After a report from the UK's Daily Mail detailing as much, Baldwin launched a Twitter rant against the publication's writer who produced the piece -- and used several gay slurs in the process.
During the funeral, tweets were sent from Hilaria's account asking followers for wedding anniversary ideas and retweeting @RachaelRayShow's updates about her Thursday morning appearance.
A source close to Hilaria insists to The Huffington Post that she merely later retweeted updates that had been tweeted during the service and was not actively tweeting inside the church.

Baldwin's publicist, Matthew Hiltzik, who says he still represents the actor, despite Baldwin having tweeted "I don't have a publicist anymore. I fired them," sent...

New York — Paula Deen should hope for more fans like Jennifer Everett of Tyler, Texas, who carried a shopping bag filled with $53 worth of merchandise from the celebrity chef's Georgia store on Thursday. A day earlier, it was revealed that Deen admitted during questioning in a lawsuit that she had slurred blacks in the past.
"Who hasn't ever said that word?" Everett said. "I don't think any less of her. She's super friendly. She's a warm person who wouldn't hurt a fly."
Deen's admission that she had used the N-word in the past wasn't the first time the queen of comfort food's mouth had gotten her into big trouble. She said in 2012 that for three years she hid her Type 2 diabetes while continuing to cook the calorie-laden food that's bad for people like her.

Alec Baldwin has made amends with Harvey Weinstein by sending him a handwritten note of apology following a falling out at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
The 30 Rock star is said to have criticised the movie mogul in a scathing rant at a Cannes party earlier this month, calling Weinstein a "d**che bag".
Baldwin subsequently stepped down from presenting a charity auction an amfAR charity event on Thursday, which Weinstein was co-hosting.
However, the pair has now put the feud behind them after Baldwin apologised to Weinstein in a note, which read, "Hw, my apology to you and congratulations on a successful event," according to the New York Post.
Baldwin's publicist Matthew Hiltzik tells The Hollywood Reporter, "This non-issue has been resolved. The film (Baldwin is making at Cannes) and the fundraising are far more important and interesting than this."
Weinstein adds in a statement, "Alec couldn't have been more gracious. We all lose our tempers sometime; trust me I have, too. We all appreciated his generosity to everyone at amfAR."...

Looks like Alec Baldwin has finally found a reason to shut down his Words With Friends app: a trip down the aisle with his 28-year-old lady friend and New York-based yogi, Hilaria Thomas.
Baldwin, who turns 54 tomorrow, reportedly began dating Thomas about a year ago and popped the question over the weekend in Long Island. His rep, Matthew Hiltzik of Hiltzik Strategies, announced the news on Twitter saying, "Alec proposed to Hilaria this weekend & we're all excited 4 the newly engaged couple. Ab's birthday's tom'w. Great way 2 celebrate!"
Both Baldwin and Thomas retweeted, so you know that's legit.
The Huffington Post reports that this will be Hilaria Thomas' first turn as a bride, and, of course, it'll be Baldwin's second marriage. No date has yet been set for the nuptials.
Alec Baldwin was previously married to fellow "L.A. Confidential" actress Kim Basinger from 1993 to 2002, and they have one child (a daughter named Ireland) together.
