- (June 2005) Played Billy Bibbitt in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" play by Ken Kesey, Directed by Macario Gaxiola (The Theatre District at the Cast Theatre, Hollywood, California, USA).
- (2002 to Present) Along with his husband, actor/singer Shawn Ryan, John co-founded and operates the Young Actors' Theatre Camp. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, YATC is an overnight co-educational theatre camp for kids ages 8-18 that offers a safe and nurturing environment allowing all students, regardless of experience, the opportunity to explore, discover and develop a life in the performing arts.
