When Andre Agassi was rising the ranks as a professional tennis player — en route to becoming one of the greatest American men to ever hit the circuit — he often felt forced to defend his hometown of Las Vegas.
“I was born and raised here,” Agassi said last Saturday during a press conference to promote The Netflix Slam featuring superstars Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz. “When I turned pro in 1,972 years ago, there was about 300,000 people that lived in this town. I would travel the world representing Vegas, having to answer some very basic questions such as, ‘What’s it like to live in a hotel?’ It was like, wait a second, Vegas is more than just a strip [of hotels]. To watch it evolve to a point where now we’re seeing not just sports come here, but we’re seeing the greatest environments for sports to participate in the Super Bowl and Formula 1 now here.

“Ok, I can die now.”
So said a woman seated behind The Hollywood Reporter inside Mandalay Bay’s Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, host of the inaugural The Netflix Slam. She had just snapped a selfie that captured superstars Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz warming up on center court over her shoulder. Sure, it was a dramatic statement but it wasn’t obscene for such an occasion. There’s no shortage of gasp-worthy moments in Sin City, and there’s no doubt many of the 9,489 seated guests could relate to the sentiment.
The Sunday afternoon showdown, the latest in Netflix’s push for live streaming events, pitted two superstar Spaniards in an exhibition match that could be one of the final few times they meet across a net. The fact that it happened was a bit of a coup, too, as it was rescheduled last year due to Nadal...

As one of the most respected coaches in the game, Rick Macci would like to help Coco Gauff work on the part of her game that is so often discussed, her forehand.
Coco Gauff's forehand seems to be a stroke that has been discussed a thousand times already, but it's yet to be fully fixed. Speaking during the grass-court part of the season, the young American said that working with Macci is one of the options , and the Uspta Florida Hall of Fame coach talked exclusively to Tennis-Infinity.com about possibly working with Gauff.
Only recently, the 19-year-old added Pere Riba to her coaching team , and in Washington, Brad Gilbert has been working with her too . According to her own words, Gauff is in a rebuilding period , and Rick Macci may help her with rebuilding the most vulnerable part of her game.

Legendary coach Rick Macci shared insights on Coco Gauff's forehand in an exclusive interview with Tennis-Infinity.com, claiming that with improvements, she could dominate the Wta Tour.
Coco Gauff's rapid rise to prominence on the Wta Tour was nothing short of remarkable. At just 19 years old, she has already amassed an impressive list of accomplishments, including reaching the Top 10 in the Wta Singles Rankings and the world No. 1 spot in doubles.
Despite her considerable success, however, her forehand becomes more and more targeted by her opponents, and it was apparent during her most recent loss at the 2023 Madrid Open to Paula Badosa who had a clear tactic going into the match.
Legendary coach Rick Macci believes there is still untapped potential for Gauff to dominate her competition. The key, Macci argues, lies in addressing Gauff's forehand, which can be turned from a weakness to a real weapon.

Coco Gauff is an incredibly talented player but there's just one stroke that is holding back the teenager.
Currently, the sixth highest-ranked player on the Wta Tour has already lost in the third round of the 2023 Madrid Open to Paula Badosa. And it wasn't a defeat that the American will want to remember as she got crushed 3-6, 0-6 and one thing was apparent throughout the match.
The Spanish player was constantly targeting Gauff's forehand and as she revealed also in the press conference before their meeting, it was a clear tactic and intention from Badosa that may soon be adopted by many more players.
In the past, former world no. 4 Mary Joe Fernandez talked about the talented American and she even advised her to take 6-8 months off the Wta Tour to fix her weaknesses as her young age would still allow her to do it.
But the former...

Serena Williams just aced this response. After winning her match against the no. 2 seed Anett Kontaveit during the second round of the U.S. Open on Aug. 31, the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion was asked by former tennis pro and ESPN analyst Mary Joe Fernández if she surprised herself with her level of performance. Letting out a small laugh, Williams replied, "I mean, I'm just Serena, you know?" It was a nailing-biting night at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. After narrowly edging out Kontaveit to win the first set, Williams lost the second before clinching victory in the third. "Honestly, after I lost the second set, I thought, 'Oh my goodness, I gotta...
