Jonathan Safran Foer and I are sitting at the table in the back of his kitchen, on a bright, sunny, global-warmed winter day (that is, it's a happy sort of sunny, but I'm pretty sure we should be sad about it). This visit is like any other visit to his kitchen – which is one mile straight down the road from mine, in Brooklyn. The only thing that's oddly, noticeably out of place, is that I'm wearing a blue blazer and I've shaved (and Jonathan's really shaved; the last time I saw him he had a huge black beard – I mean a real lumberjack, or hipster, or rabbinical beard, depending on your point-of-view). The blazer and the preening are a nod to the fact that there's a photographer with us, who, for the purpose of this introduction, as is traditional,...

Guests ranged from Steve Martin and Jonathan Franzen to St. Vincent and the "Arrested Development" cast reunion. The Huffington Post attended a smattering of events and compiled the tidbits that inspired us, and more frequently, made us laugh. Read on for the best moments from the festival.

The 'Arrested Development' Reunion
It's not surprising that "Arrested Development" was originally meant to be a heavily improvised show. The cast's sharp tongues began flying early into the talk, moderated by Nancy Franklin, TV critic for The New Yorker. The entire cast was present Sunday -- Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, David Cross, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, creator Mitchell Hurwitz,...

Nicole Krauss’ novels aren’t for reading; they’re for appreciating thoughtfully, the way one might approach a museum piece. Her The History Of Love was terrific, justly one of the most acclaimed novels of 2005, but it also gave off a sense of narrative slowed to a crawl by slow-dripping sap that stymied forward momentum. In her follow-up, Great House, that sap has hardened to amber. There are ample rewards in Great House for readers who don’t mind digging through Krauss’ “every sentence is its own reward” style. The easiest way to decide whether the book is for ...
