Brett Hansen, who has spent 22 years at UTA, is moving to Paradigm Talent Agency.
Hansen, who was a partner at UTA, becomes a senior content agent at Paradigm. He will join he agency’s senior leadership group working across both unscripted and scripted television.
During his time at UTA, where he started in the mailroom, he has represented clients including SallyAnn Salsano’s 495 Productions, Propagate Content, Bunim/Murray Productions, Elizabeth Banks, Bryan Cranston and Sean Combs.
He was formerly head of UTA’s Alternative TV division but moved to a different role in October 2020 after David Kirsch and Geoff Suddleson were named co-heads of the agency’s unscripted television department.

UTA veteran Brett Hansen has moved to Paradigm Talent Agency as senior content agent, a hire that comes as part of Paradigm’s stepped-up effort to rebuild its roster of agents and clients.

LONDON -- MTV Networks International said Thursday that Brent Hansen, president of creative and editor in chief, is leaving the company. The New Zealand-born Hansen, who is based in London and runs MTV's European operations, said, "With nearly two decades at MTV Networks, I've decided this is the right time in the company's history for me to resign and move on." There was no word on Hansen's plans, and he could not be reached for further comment. MTV Networks International president Bill Roedy will take over Hansen's responsibilities while it decides whether a direct replacement will be hired, MTV said.

LONDON -- MTV Networks International said Thursday that Brent Hansen, president of creative and editor-in-chief, is leaving the company. New Zealand-born Hansen, who is based in London running MTV's European operations, said in a statement: "With nearly two decades at MTV Networks, I've decided this is the right time in the company's history for me to resign and move on." MTV said that Bill Roedy, MTV Networks International president, will take over Hansen's responsibilities while it decides if a direct replacement will be hired. Roedy said in a statement that Hansen's "strong, creative instincts have also helped us achieve a unique editorial voice and music credibility that will continue to lend integrity to our brands for years to come." Starting at MTV Europe in 1987 as a news producer, Hansen became president, creative director of MTV Networks Europe in 1994 with a mandate to establish the MTV Europe Music Awards. The event, which hops from one major European capital to another each year, has become a firm fixture for major acts and will take place this year in Copenhagen.

LONDON -- The 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards will take place on Nov. 9 in Copenhagen at a venue yet to be determined, it was announced Thursday in the Danish capital. Brent Hansen, president of creative and editor-in-chief of MTV Networks International; Lars Engberg, the mayor of Copenhagen; Brian Mikkelsen, Danish culture minister, and Martin Geertsen, mayor of culture, made the announcement at the Kobenhavns Radhus, Copenhagen's city hall. MTV started on television in Denmark in May and Hansen said, "By bringing the awards to Copenhagen, we are further underscoring our commitment to the Danish marketplace." Mayor Engberg said, "In recent years we have focused on the development of Copenhagen's creative industries and positioned the city as a world-class location. With the MTV Europe Music Awards, Copenhagen will yet again receive international focus and attention and, at the same time, the awards will be a magnificent event for the people of Copenhagen and visitors to the city." Previous locations for the MTV Europe Music Awards, which were first staged in Berlin in 1994, have included London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona and, earlier this month, in Lisbon.
