Kristen Bell led the star-studded opening night of the 25th-anniversary revival of Reefer Madness: The Musical, clad in a navy-blue slip dress that accentuated her enviable physique.
Originally appearing in the cast of the 2005 musical comedy based on the 1936 exploitation film of the same name, Bell now serves as one of the musical revival’s producers alongside Alan Cumming and Christian Campbell.

Gettin’ The Band Back Together, the rock musical that just opened August 13 at the Belasco Theatre, has set its last performance for Sunday, September 30. It will have played 30 previews and 40 performances. The producers announced the decision Friday.
“It’s not just the money, but when a team of the most creative people you know spends years of their lives working toward a common goal, and it doesn’t turn out the way you all dreamed..it’s heart-crushing,” producer Ken Davenport wrote candidly in a blog post about the decision, which he said made over the past 24 hours.
Davenport said the call was especially tough as he said “surveys of actual Telecharge ticket buyers and got a 98.2% positive rating, and an exceptionally high “Net Promoter Score.” (How likely they are to tell their friends and family to get tickets.),” he said.

When Nick Adams moved to New York City, it took him 2 weeks a get a part on Broadway. That’s right – 2 weeks and he was cast in the revival of Chicago!
In fact, his first audition was for The Producers where it got down to him and one other person.
This was all in the same week. So, yes, Nick is a huge underachiever.
Since Chicago, Nick has worked pretty much non-stop on Broadway: A Chorus Line, The Pirate Queen, Guys and Dolls and La Cage aux Folles. Now, he can be seen in his first starring role, Adam/Felecia, the youngest in the trio of drag performers, in Priscilla Queen on the Desert.
Don’t think Nick’s got some sort of secret luck on his side. The guy works his butt off. Even though he’s starring in a major Broadway hit, he still finds time to go...

The role of ‘Cynthia’ in the hit Broadway musical, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, called for someone who was a feisty Filipino, over the top funny and shoots ping pong balls out of her hoo-haw. When J. Elaine Marcos read the breakdown, her first thought was, ““Oh, I am right there. That is perfect.”
After her audition, the casting directors thought as well and she was hired.
J. Elaine is a veteran of Broadway shows like Miss Saigon, Sweet Charity, The Wedding Singer and A Chorus Line. After tearing her Acl (ouch) and she wasn’t able to dance, that’s when her TV and film career kicked into gear, appearing on shows 30 Rock, Rescue Me and the film Morning Glory. Add that to her accomplished sketch and improv work, regularly appearing with NYC’s Upright Citizens Brigade, well, I’m surprised she had time to talk to me at all.
