"Clear the base. Hold the perimeter – at all costs." Saban Films has unveiled the official trailer for a WWII action movie called 3 Days in Malay, directed by the Australian action star Louis Mandylor. Another of these unoriginal action movies being churned out by the dozen. Mandylor has been starring in films made by director Brandon Slagle recently, though this time Slagle wrote the screenplay and let Mandylor direct. A small group must defend an airfield for three days against the Japanese assault during the fight for Malay in World War II. Mandylor with Cowboy Cerrone, Peter Dobson, Ryan Francis, Randall J. Bacon, and Quinton Rampage Jackson star in the WWII action film, out to watch starting in August. It's inspired by a true story, based on the actual Malayan campaign in 1941-1942 where Allied forces tried to defend Malaya from Japanese forces. This looks brutal and intense, and remarkably generic and uninteresting.

Joe and his brother Danny are out hunting in the desert when Danny says he wishes their other brother Roy were with them. This sets Joe off on a rant because Roy apparently is a disgrace because he isn’t rich like he is. It seems Roy traded a career in the military for one in Mma only to get injured and now drives a truck.
Roy’s real problem is that he can’t let go of his Mma dreams and still fights in underground tournaments. But when his overconfidence gets him knocked out it costs mob boss Julian a lot of money.
In retaliation he kills Roy’s girlfriend in front of him, “An hour ago you were fucking her brains out. Well I just blew her brains out...

Cops and Robbers stars Michael Jai White as a hostage negotiator who plays a high stakes game of cat and mouse with a cornered bank robber. As the two men learn each other’s identity, they realise they have a shared past, as estranged brothers do, with scores and grudges to be settled…
Can Micheal Jai White ever get a break? The man had obvious skills, both in acting and martial arts, which we’ve seen in a myriad of his previous films. However lately he seems to have become stuck in a rut of appearing own small cameo roles in films or playing cop roles that don’t show off his skillset. Even when he does get to kick some ass his performance seems stifled.

Add another entry to the time loop directory with Joe Carnahan’s Boss Level arriving as this month’s installment of what feels like a regular ritual these days. It’s not socially relevant like The Obituary of Tunde Johnson, emotionally poignant like Before I Fall, genre-bending like Happy Death Day, or irreverently subversive like Palm Springs, but it is entertaining. This is especially true for fans (like me) of the director’s Smokin’ Aces since that’s the title this latest work most closely resembles whether by way of its frenetic pacing, eccentric criminals, or blunt yet quick-witted humor. With sardonic narration dripping with the frustration that comes from constantly waking up to deadly assassins ensuring death arrives before 1:00pm each day, it never tries to be something it’s not.
That narrator is Roy Pulver (Frank Grillo)—a former covert military operative who finds himself growing bored...

With Chips (2017) becoming the latest in a list of movies based on television shows, we decided to look back at previous attempts and rank our favourites. So here are the 6 best movies based on television shows.
6. The Man from Uncle (2015)
One of many shows from the 60s that explored the world of spies, The Man from Uncle (1964-1968) starred the legendary Robert Vaughn and David McCallum as Us and Russian spies, respectively. In 2015, Guy Ritchie revisited the characters of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin in a film adaptation. Keeping the 60s cold war setting, but with epic set pieces and a tongue-in-cheek tone, The Man from Uncle was your typical Guy Ritchie fair with its slickness.
5. The A-Team (2010)
It was always going to be hard to replace the original actors who spent most of the 80s helping those in need, however once you add Liam Neeson to the cast your film immediately gains several points.

Bellator Mma returns after a busy off-season that saw them sign a top prospect but lose an established star (Rampage Jackson) back to the Ufc. They’re fully under the control of Scott Coker now, and it’s under his watch that they will either sink or swim.
Leading the charge in their first event in 2015 is a featherweight title bout between new champion Patricio Freire and former champ Daniel Straus. Straus was one and done as a champ, winning the belt from Pat Curran then losing it right back to him. Freire went on to defeat Curran, and now Straus has another shot. It’s a three horse race that has taken up much of the past two years in Bellator’s featherweight division, and the outcome of this match will likely do little to change that short of the emergence of a new contender.

Bellator Mma returns after a busy off-season that saw them sign a top prospect but lose an established star (Rampage Jackson) back to the Ufc. They’re fully under the control of Scott Coker now, and it’s under his watch that they will either sink or swim.

Huge news struck earlier this month when it was confirmed that a group of former fighters would be suing the Ufc for alleged anti-trust violations, with the fighters claiming that the world’s largest Mma promotion was in fact a monopoly that bought up and killed off all serious competition, and acted illegally to keep fighter pay down, and limit other potential sources of revenue for fighters.
It was the opening salvo in a war that has been brewing for some time, as many fighters – including highly ranked Tim Kennedy and featherweight champion Jose Aldo – have complained about poor pay and treatment from the promotion. While Kennedy and Aldo are some of the larger names, there were many, many smaller ones, a large number of whom wished to remain anonymous, who had similar grievances.
Add to that the complaints of former fighters like Ken Shamrock, Tito Ortiz, and Rampage Jackson...

The Brock Lesnar lottery talk continues to swirl as we approach 2015, and now Scott Coker has confirmed that Bellator Mma have reached out to the WWE champion, who remains under contract with the pro wrestling giant until after Wrestlemania 31. According to Coker, who spoke to Mma Fighting about pursuing Lesnar, there have been no serious talks, but Bellator have gone about “saying hello” to the former Ufc heavyweight champion. As a result;
There hasn’t been any serious dialogue, but when the time comes to have serious dialogue, we’ll be right there.
He went on to add that;
I think that he’s a big needle mover. There have been several years that have passed and I think that he still has the WWE limelight.
More interestingly, Coker had the following to say about signing Lesnar and other high-profile free agents;

A lot happened in 2014 in the world of Mma. That may seem like an obvious statement, but when we say a lot, we mean it. It wasn’t your typical year: major, major events went down that may change the Mma world as we know it.
First, some of the smaller events that were notable, but won’t make our list:
Jon Jones surpassed Tito Ortiz as the most successful Ufc light heavyweight champion of all time. Speaking of Ortiz, he made his Bellator Mma debut, and has now won two fights in the promotion and is looking at a possible title shot. Rampage Jackson left Bellator after a successful three fight run there, and returned to the Ufc; Eddie Alvarez, Bellator’s lightweight champion, was granted his release by the promotion and joined the Ufc only to lose to Cowboy Cerrone.
Ben Akren, the former Bellator lightweight champ,...

The big news coming out of Ufc Fight Night 58, aside from Lyoto Machida’s devastating Tko of Cb Dollaway, was the re-signing by the Ufc of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, a move that surprised many in the Mma world mainly because Rampage was believed to be under contract with Bellator Mma. Now, it’s no secret that Jackson has not been happy with Bellator since Bjorn Rebney, the promotion’s founder, was fired this past summer, and there was talk that perhaps this situation was similar to the one with Eddie Alvarez, where Bellator opted to let the fighter go after years of drama between him and the promotion, including a lot of legal wrangling.
It seems, however, that such is not the case here, and there may in fact be more legal wrangling to come. According to a post by Scott Coker on his twitter and retweeted by Bellator Mma’s official account,...

The Ufc seems to have taken a page out of Bellator Mma’s playbook with these “big announcements” during live events. They did it with Cm Punk, and now, the big news of Ufc Fight Night 58 is the return of Mma superstar and former Pride and Ufc champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Jackson was a Pride legend who won Ufc gold and unified the Ufc and Pride belts when he beat Dan Henderson (who held Pride gold) back in 2007. However, he lost his belt to Forrest Griffin, and though he would work his way back to a title shot against Jon Jones in 2011, like so many others he would lose, triggering a three fight losing streak, the worst stretch of his career.
Upset with the Ufc’s treatment of him and his pay, and unhappy with facing wrestlers unwilling to exchange with him on the feet,...

Ronda Rousey, the first ever women’s Ufc champion, is well known for her love of professional wrestling, and takes her nickname, “Rowdy,” from none other than Rowdy Roddy Piper.
Her name has been attached to the WWE several times as a result, including an invitation on Twitter from The Shield to join them (back when they were still together, of course).
Now, in a new interview with TalkSport she has discussed being a heel in the WWE.
Says Rousey;
Oh, I would be a heel for sure.
I can’t take the name of ‘Rowdy’ and not be a heel, that would be an insult to the man I pay tribute to with my name – the great Rowdy Roddy Piper.
I would have to try and live up to his legacy as much as possible and I can’t do that being a babyface.

When Quinton “Rampage” Jackson signed with Bellator in 2013, it was huge news. Sure, Rampage was on an 0-3 skid in the Ufc and looked like he had lost his will to fight, coming in overweight and laying a goose egg in his beloved second home of Japan, and complaining about everything from money to having to face wrestlers who wouldn’t stand and trade punches with him (this from a guy who relied on solid wrestling early in his career), but he was still a big name that drew eyeballs. A guy who could headline fight cards.
So his defection to Bellator was huge, and huge for Bellator Mma. It also gave his career in the cage a boost: upon joining Bellator, Jackson quickly piled up three wins, knocking out Joey Beltran and former Bellator light heavyweight champion Christian M’Pumbu before winning a close decision over...

Over the past couple of years, the Ufc has probably had more disgruntled fighters than ever before. Rampage Jackson. Tito Ortiz. Nate Quarry. Tim Kennedy. Nick and Nate Diaz. These are just a handful of names past and present that are recognizable – there are a lot, lot more. Even current featherweight champion Jose Aldo has complained about his compensation from the company.
With the Ufc recently closing an official uniform deal with Reebok that eliminates all outside sponsorships for Ufc fighters at official events and fight weeks (fighters can still get sponsors, they just can’t have them on display during the periods mentioned), fighters are more agitated than ever before.
Well, it seems some may be pushing back.

While not as stacked as the season opener last week, Bellator Mma still had a solid card to offer fight fans Friday night with Bellator 124. Featuring a headlining bout of light heavyweight champion Emanuel Newton taking on the Mexicutioner Joey Beltran, the promotion’s 124 event was a bit of a patchwork affair. The title shot for Beltran felt like the influence of Scott Coker at work: put in a guy with a name, even if he hasn’t won a lot lately. In fact, it was extremely reminiscent of Keith Jardine’s middleweight title shot in Strikeforce: The Dean of Mean hadn’t won a single fight for the promotion (his first appearance was a draw), yet his drop to middleweight earned him an instant title shot against then-champion Luke Rockhold.

A few weeks ago, in anticipation of Guardians of the Galaxy's theatrical release, I wrote about the Curse of Tor Johnson, named after the old-school wrestler (and Ed Wood muse) who may have also been responsible for 50 years of terrible performances from professional wrestlers.
Since I wrote for WWE's Monday Night Raw for about six months, I wondered if the presence of Dave Bautista, a former champion, would jinx Guardians' box-office mojo. Three weeks into its theatrical run (and more than $175 million in receipts later), it's safe to say the Curse has been broken.

Current Bellator Mma star and former Tna wrestling talent Quinton “Rampage” Jackson spoke to the Fight Nerd today, and took a few shots at Tna, rubbing a little more salt on their open wounds.
Jackson spoke about the struggling brand, saying “To be honest, as soon as I went over there and saw their operation and how they ran things, there were no plans for me to go back. There was a lot of momentum with me when I came out with Kurt Angle. I was supposed to wrestle Kurt Angle and they lost all momentum. They didn’t utilize me in any way, I gave them a couple ideas on how to utilize me and they wanted me to wrestle professional [Mma] fighters. I was like, ‘No, I’m not doing that.’ They just had no idea what they were doing, in my opinion.

Once linked to the Wsof, Lashley never appeared for that organization, and fought most recently in independent promotions Xfn (winning their heavyweight title) and Gwc. Since joining Tna Wrestling on Spike, speculation has been rampant that Lashley would also join Bellator and work under both promotions, just as fellow fighters King Mo and Rampage Jackson have done (though neither have been used much at all by Tna).

When it comes to combat sports, casual fans direct their attention towards the main draws. As much as they value the champions, the main commodities are born through promotion and their actions. The Ufc did that with the likes of Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Rampage Jackson, and others. Now they’re somewhat in a transitional stage, with key stars being injured or taking sabbaticals. The pressure is on for them to create new stars. That has led to casual fans looking for answers. They’re wondering who is the next breed of superstars or more specifically most notable personalities?
Chael Sonnen was the latest superstar to have an extraordinary persona. Unfortunately for him, he couldn’t adjust to fighting without Trt (testosterone replacement therapy). That drops him off the list of having the best persona currently in the Ufc. There are still a handful...

It’s the world’s #2 Mma promotion, but how would the stars of Bellator fare in the Ufc? Who could make the jump?
Bellator snagged disgruntled Ufc stars Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz late last year, and so far, the pick ups have been paying off – Jackson won the promotion’s most recent light heavyweight tournament, headlining Bellator’s first PPV in the process, and Ortiz finished middleweight champ Alexander Shlemenko on the same card. They also brought back Sokoudjou, who recently picked up his first win in Bellator, and signed free agent Cheick Kongo, who won the Bellator Season 9 heavyweight tournament final before losing to champ Vitaly Minakov.
In other words, Bellator has been cashing in off ex-ufc fighters, but what about their home-grown talent? Which Bellator fighters could really taste success in the Ufc?
Lets take a look.

There have been several unforgettable feuds within the past ten years for the Ufc. It all started with Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock jawing at one another. Ortiz played up his bad boy persona into his personality to annoy Shamrock. That was followed up by his legendary feud with Chuck Liddell. He even went to the extent of angering Dana White to where they nearly fought in a boxing match.
The feuds continued in the late 2000’s with Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar genuinely hating one another. Then Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson was the next feud that ended up being the most polarizing feud in Ufc history. No season of the Ultimate Fighter did better ratings than Season 10 featuring both fighters. While they did receive a boost from Internet sensation Kimbo Slice, the pay-per-view they fought on (Ufc 114) drew over a one million buy-rate.

Rampage Jackson won by unanimous decision in his bout against Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal on Saturday at the Bellator 120 at the Landers Center in Southhaven, Miss.
Rampage Jackson Beats King Mo
During the first round, it looked like Lawal was headed for a victory, as he managed to take Jackson down multiple times. However, in the second round, Jackson worked his boxing skills, landing some punches that got him back in the match. The third round was relatively even, with Lawal controlling Jackson for over a minute following a takedown and then Jackson rising up and going on the attack with punches.
Ultimately, the judges unanimously scored the bout 29-28 for Jackson.
Following the bout, both Jackson and Lawal expressed their displeasure with the result. Jackson wished that he’d had a more decisive victory, and hoped for a rematch where he’d win via knockout. Lawal, meanwhile, felt that he’d beaten Jackson.
