After 10 months together, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have ended their relationship.
The split news comes after the “Wolves” singer, 25, was photographed spending time with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, 23, but an insider tells People the exes have not rekindled their romance.
“She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship,” an insider told People exclusively. “It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.”

Marvel made a big announcement about the future of Mike Peterson (J. August Richards) on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. It’s a big spoiler, so I’ll let you decide if you’ll click on the link. I love the concept, if not the specifics.
Access Hollywood talked with Finn Jones about the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. Sadly, he says, “There’s not enough hot gay sex for Loras this season.” I’m going to sit in a corner where I will think about Daenerys dispensing justice with her dragons and Lady Olenna dropping wit bombs until I’m excited about the new season.
Come on, HBO, who is going to fill Lafayette’s shoes once True Blood ends?
Adrianne Palicki will be appearing in a story arc on NBC’s upcoming dramedy About a Boy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Question: Watching the Carrie and Quinn scene at the end of Homeland‘s Season 3 finale has me wondering — are they going to be a thing next season? —Fyeah
Ausiello: I put that exact question to showrunner Alex Gansa on Monday and he didn’t rule it out. “I think if there is romantic energy between them it’s at a very nascent state,” he said. “Carrie’s emotions have been engaged elsewhere, so it’s unclear how she feels about him.

Hilary Mantel, Jonathan Franzen, Mohsin Hamid, Ruth Rendell, Tom Stoppard, Malcolm Gladwell, Eleanor Catton and many more recommend the books that impressed them this year
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Five Star Billionaire by Tash Aw (Fourth Estate) is a brilliant, sprawling, layered and unsentimental portrayal of contemporary China. It made me think and laugh. I also love Dave Eggers' The Circle (Hamish Hamilton), which is a sharp-eyed and funny satire about the obsession with "sharing" our lives through technology. It's convincing and a little creepy.
William Boyd
By strange coincidence two of the most intriguing art books I read this year had the word "Breakfast" in their titles. They were Breakfast with Lucian by Geordie Greig (Jonathan Cape) and Breakfast at Sotheby's by Philip Hook (Particular). Greig's fascinating, intimate biography of Lucian Freud was a revelation. Every question I had about Freud – from the aesthetic to the intrusively gossipy – was...

In a sharp business move, the building that serves as The Vampire Diaries' Mystic Grill, is being turned into a restaurant so that fans who travel to Convington, Georgia to see where their favorite show is filmed can have a Vampire Diaries-themed meal.

This week's episode of "The Carrie Diaries," titled "Hush, Hush," was a turning point for the series. There were romance shake-ups, major secrets revealed, and perhaps the biggest nods to "Sex and the City" Carrie that we've seen thus far. If you haven't watched yet, look away!
First of all, Sebastian broke up with Donna and came clean about his feelings for Carrie. Though his attempt at a big NYC grand gesture was thwarted by some parental awkwardness, the two ended up sharing a sweet moment back home in Connecticut anyway. Meanwhile, Maggie and Walt split after Donna revealed that Maggie had been cheating on him! In a surprising twist, though, Donna told Walt that she'd been crushing on him for a while and after they shared a make-out session at the lock-in, they became an official couple. (That'll end well.)
Oh, and that parental awkwardness? When Tom and Carrie...

At this point, I'm willing to recommend just about any article that praises Enlightened, a difficult-to-love show from Mike White that's completely worth the effort. It may be great, but it's future remains a big question mark, which is frustrating because, as the Av Club explains it, Enlightened is TV's best show right now.

The Carrie Diaries, Season 1, Pilot
Written by Amy B. Harris
Directed by Miguel Arteta
Airs Mondays at 8pm (Et) on the CW
The CW knows how to do two things; Sexy action heroes (Supernatural, Smallville, Nikita) and your classic beautiful-teens-coming-of-age-in-a-very-specific-setting tale (90210, Hart of Dixie,Vampire Diaries). After losing Gossip Girl and gaining Arrow, The Carrie Diaries (the story of a young girl struggling through adolescents all while falling in love with the city), appears to be the perfect vehicle to round up those misplaced fashionistas while picking up a whole new generation Manhattan dreamers.
The notable difference to the CW’s latest teen drama fare is that it’s wrapped up as a prequel to HBO’s much loved Sex and the City. A point in which The CW really tries to drive home only to drop you off a few stops short. The story follows a 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw...

If you go into The CW's new '80s series, "The Carrie Diaries," hoping for a perfect replica of "Sex and the City," you might be disappointed -- at first. The new show is something of a prequel to the HBO favorite, letting viewers in on how the iconic Carrie Bradshaw became the fabulous, fierce, fashionable woman that Sarah Jessica Parker turned into an icon.
In this series, set in 1984, Carrie is just 15, played by AnnaSophia Robb -- so if you're expecting salacious episodes about vibrators and lesbian dalliances... wait. "I really saw this as an origin story," says showrunner Amy B. Harris. "So if you look at 'Smallville,' which I think is a very good example where you're meeting Clark Kent before he realizes he has super powers. If you're meeting Carrie Bradshaw, I wanted to meet her before she had sex, before she fell in love,...

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the fifth and final one announced. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on The CW.
With "Hart of Dixie" last season's sole surviving new show and "Gossip Girl" finishing up with a short final season this coming Fall, The CW is pushing hard on original content this season with five new shows ordered as opposed to the regular two or three. There's also a bunch of timeslot changes with "The Vampire Diaries" the sole show to have not changed its place on the network's schedule.
The additions have allowed the sub-35 skewering network to essentially have theme nights - prime-time soaps on Mondays, quirky medical dramas on Tuesdays, male-dominated genre action shows on Wednesdays, and female-oriented supernatural romancers on Thursdays.

Don't worry: Matt Davis won't be gone from The CW for too long. Although he's done on "The Vampire Diaries," the actor is heading back to the network at midseason for the creepy-sounding new drama, "Cult." Joining him is AnnaSophia Robb, who stars in the "Sex and the City" prequel "The Carrie Diaries." Both shows will hit The CW sometime in early 2013.
Unfortunately, we haven't seen any photos of Davis in his new show, but we do have a shot of Robert Knepper as Billy Grimm/Roger Reeves and Alona Tal as Kelly/Marti in the new series. The CW has also released two new photos from "The Carrie Diaries" -- the first shot of the pilot was released back in March.
Here are the official descriptions of each show, per The CW:

The CW is making some real changes this fall. In fact, every night of the network’s schedule will be different. Bet you expected The Carrie Diaries in the fall, right? The Vampire Diaries to be paired with Arrow, perhaps? Supernatural to stay on Fridays? Buzzzt!
In fact, airing Vampire Diaries on Thursdays at 8 p.m. is the only thing that’s staying the same in the fall. Even the network’s debut dates are going to be unique: The CW isn’t launching until October this year, getting out of the way of the other major broadcast networks that...

Living up to his promise to infuse his struggling network with more original programming, the CW Network has picked up five new pilots to series. The Sex And The City prequel The Carrie Diaries, the Green Arrow reboot Arrow, a Beaty And The Beast re-imagination that shares the same name, a mystery thriller called Cult and a medical drama First Cut. Full series synopsis of which can be found after the jump.
The Carrie Diaries
It’s 1984, and life isn’t easy for 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw. Since their mother passed away, Carrie’s younger sister Dorritt is more rebellious than ever, and their father Tom is overwhelmed with the responsibility of suddenly having to care for two teenage girls on his own. Carrie’s friends – sweet, geeky Mouse, sarcastic and self-assured Maggie and sensitive Walt – make life bearable, but a suburban life in Connecticut isn’t doing much to take her mind off her troubles.

The CW Picks Up Carrie Diaries, Arrow, Cult, First Cut and Beauty and the Beast
The CW has picked up five new series for the 2012-2013 season, marking a more-than-normal order size for the smaller network. The Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries will join superhero drama Arrow, thriller Cult, medical drama First Cut and the updated Beauty and the Beast.
These five new shows join veteran series Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and 90210 on the schedule for next season. America's Next Top Model was also given a renewal for the fall. Gossip Girl is generally considered a safe bet for a shorter season next year, but the fate of freshman series The Secret Circle, Hart of Dixie and Ringer are currently unknown.
Updated: Nikita was just renewed for season 3.

Rumors are not only a Fleetwood Mac album, but it’s also what has over taken Doctor Who for the last few years. With the revived series never more popular outside its native UK and rogue PBS stations, fans are eager for any news about the upcoming 7th season.
Production has begun, with work on episode 2 and 3 proceeding at a good pace, even though Matt Smith has said they’ll film through December. Little is known about the structure of this season, though anyone can probably infer a few things that have become public information. What is known is that there will be 14 episodes, but they’re probably going to be split over 2012-13 TV season. Speculation is the show will return in mid-November and air the final 4 episodes that involve Amy and Rory, and then air the fifth episode, the traditional Christmas Special on, well Christmas. After that, what...
