She also alleges Rooney was a tough employer, declaring, "Mickey was condescending and gruff, hostile and rude, insulting and dismissive - and yelled quite often."
The legal action came after the Babes on Broadway star won a restraining order against his stepson, Christopher Aber, and his wife amid claims Aber had been attempting to convince the star to sign over control of his assets, leaving the ageing actor fearing for his safety.

90-year-old Mickey Rooney is not the sweet, adorable guy he appears to be ... at least according to legal docs filed by his former assistant, who claims the actor is a mean, abusive old man. The woman behind the allegations is Cindy Smith -- who claims she served as Mickey's right hand lady from 1984 to 1991 and again from 2000 to 2010. Rooney's lawyers recently filed a lawsuit against Smith -- accusing her of elder abuse and fraud.

Screenwriter Steve Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness) and director/producer Todd Phillips (The Hangover) have teamed up to develop a biographical film about the late comedian, John Belushi.
The project was recently picked up by Warner Bros. for the rights from Belushi’s estate. Conrad is going to write the project, and Phillips will produce and even possibly direct. This is the latest attempt at trying to make this film about Belushi, the Saturday Night Live star who died of a drug overdose in 1982 at the age of 33.
There was an early attempt at a feature film based on the comedian, with the film Wired, made in 1989, starring Michael Chiklis. The film was based off a novel famously documented by Bob Woodward’s 1985 biography, “Wired: The Short Life and Fast Times of John Belushi.” That property isn’t part of the rights deal. It was widely criticized by Belushi...

“Couples Retreat” is one of those movies that may give you a slight smile, but will be quickly forgotten in a month. There are laughs to be sure, but the movie could have been so much more. “Couples Retreat” deals with four different couples and their varying problems with their relationships. You have Jason (Jason Bateman) and Cynthia Smith (Kristen Bell), an anal detail-oriented couple that love to show slide shows and put up graphs about their relationship. Then you have Dave (Vince Vaughn, one of the co-writers of the film) and Ronnie (Malin Ackerman), a seemingly happy couple with a couple of kids who are going through the motions of being happy. Joey (Jon Favreau, another co-writer) and Lucy (Kristin Davis) got married out of high school and have slowly disintegrated into just tolerating each other. Shane (Faizon Love) and Trudy (Kali Hawk) is the newest couple. Shane just...
