[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for NCIS Season 21 Episode 7 “A Thousand Yards.”] For a milestone as major as the franchise’s 1,000th episode, NCIS pulls out all the stops, from guest stars (LA‘s Daniela Ruah as Kensi! Hawai’i‘s Vanessa Lachey as Jane! Joe Spano as Fornell!) to Easter eggs (like connections in the case to dead characters like Tom Morrow and Kate Todd and it all linking back to the mothership’s very first investigation). It also starts off by putting one of the agency’s own in the hospital. While visiting his late wife’s grave and then having an awkward, tense conversation with his son, Jared (Spence Moore II), Director Vance (Rocky Carroll) is shot by a sniper. While Carroll, speaking with TV Insider for our weekly aftershow, NCIS: Case Closed, never worried about being killed off, he does recall of the initial conversation he had with the episode’s writer,...

NCIS: Los Angeles star Daniela Ruah steps behind the camera for the April 15 episode of Hawai’i, but before that airs, fans will get the chance to see her onscreen once again as Kensi Blye—as also glimpsed in TV Insider’s exclusive featurette for the milestone—in the franchise’s 1,000th episode, airing on the mothership. “We actually shot that while I was in Hawai’i, beginning our shoot for my episode,” Ruah tells TV Insider. “I got the call, and they were like, ‘Would you mind shooting this? Can we just quickly shoot this while you’re there?’ And of course, I would never say no to being in the 1,000th episode of NCIS. So yeah, we just found a car that was the same as Kensi’s car and I sat in it. We had to revisit pictures of Kensi’s car to make sure it matched enough,...

For the franchise’s 1,000th episode, NCIS has pulled out all the stops. From impressive cake ceremonies to fan-favorite guest-stars—Joe Spano as Fornell, LA‘s Daniela Ruah as Kensi, and Hawai’i‘s Vanessa Lachey as Jane—as well as the promise of Easter eggs, it’s going to be a must-watch for any fan of the show. And TV Insider has an exclusive first look at the franchise’s casts and NCIS executive producers talking about reaching the milestone and teasing what to expect. “I feel like out of body,” Sean Murray (who has played McGee on NCIS since Season 1) admits in the video. His fellow long-time cast member, Brian Dietzen, adds, “When I first started, I was booked for a one day guest star on the show, and 20 years later I’m still here and getting to tell stories that haven’t ...

NCIS: Los Angeles may have wrapped last year after 14 seasons, but fans are still getting a double dose of Daniela Ruah (who played Kensi Blye) on April 15: She guest stars in the franchise’s 1,000th episode, airing on NCIS, and directed the franchise’s 1,001st episode, with Hawai’i. Ruah’s no stranger to being behind the camera for the NCISverse. She directed six episodes of LA and one of the mothership earlier this season. “This [Hawai’i episode] was a bigger challenge than the other ones, I think, because it was an incredible storyline, and add to that, that it was a new cast and crew for me, but it was, oh my gosh, I had the absolute best time,” she raves to TV Insider. “I called my husband after day one. I was like, ‘We have to move here. I want to keep working with these guys.’” In the aptly-titled “The Next Thousand,...

In case you somehow missed it, the 1,000th episode of the NCISverse is upcoming.
That will be NCIS Season 21 Episode 7, airing on CBS at 9 p.m. Monday, April 15.
The event was heralded by an Entertainment Tonight special hosted by Kevin Frazier, which aired April 8 on CBS. It's likely still available on streaming service Paramount+.
NCIS has been on 21 seasons, NCIS: Los Angeles lasted 14 seasons, and NCIS: New Orleans seven. NCIS: Hawaii is in its third season, while NCIS: Sydney recently finished its first season. You do the math to get to 999.
So, as the NCISverse's 1,000th episode approaches, would now be the peak for the franchise, with two spinoffs airing this season and two new spinoffs planned for next season?
Not at all, although this certainly could be seen as the golden age of NCIS Recycling, which admittedly is at least in vogue now.

NCIS Season 21 is going by very quickly. Fans may be upset to learn it’s also already half over.
The two Hollywood strikes not only delayed production for months – it has also led to a much shorter season.
Five episodes from Season 21 have already aired, with only five new ones left to debut this spring.
Hopefully, CBS will order NCIS Season 22 soon, so fans can look forward to more new content next year.
Previous episodes of NCIS are also available for streaming on Paramount+, allowing fans to enjoy older content during the upcoming summer hiatus. That includes the Ducky tribute episode that said goodbye to David McCallum earlier this season.
As for the remaining episodes this season, some noteworthy ones are already on the CBS TV schedule.
NCIS Season 21, Episode 6 information
A new episode called Strange Invaders airs on Monday, April 1. This serves as NCIS Season 21, Episode 6. It debuts at 9/8c on CBS.

Michael shared many scenes with David during his years on NCIS, and the producers needed to add some brevity to an emotional episode.
Having Dinozzo back with his unique sense of humor was perfect for the show. But it has also led to fans wanting more.

The good news is that the older Ducky episodes are also available for streaming on Paramount+.
A sly moment at the beginning of the episode showed Gibbs’ current location. Some NCIS fans were disappointed that Mark Harmon didn’t return as Leroy Jethro Gibbs, but at least the character was referenced.

Alex Edelman‘s Broadway hit Just For Us is now playing in Los Angeles and he celebrated with a star-studded opening event over the weekend!
The 34-year-old rising star was joined by celeb pals at the opening night celebration on Saturday (November 11) at the Mark Taper Forum in downtown Los Angeles.
In attendance were Alden Ehrenreich, Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater, Natalie Morales, Nia Vardalos, Bradley Whitford and Amy Landecker, and former NCIS: Los Angeles co-stars Barrett Foa and Daniela Ruah, among others.
Just For Us is written and performed by Edelman. In the wake of a string of anti-Semitic rhetoric pointed in his direction online, standup comic Edelman decides to go straight to the source; specifically, Queens, where he covertly attends a meeting of White Nationalists and comes face-to-face with the people behind the keyboards.
The play is running through November 26.

The Malibu Triathlon is on.
The Malibu City Council voted to allow the triathlon to go ahead this weekend after the fate of the event was in question over permitting issues as a result of an altered course that was designed as a way to protect an endangered fish species that have taken residence in a key underpass on the route.
The vote — a 4-0 tally with council member Bruce Silverstein abstaining — came at the tail end of a marathon city council meeting that started on Monday night and stretched past midnight due to a lengthy docket and a series of pleas from triathlon supporters. The Malibu Triathlon, a fundraiser for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, will take place on Saturday and Sunday. In a statement received by The Hollywood Reporter, triathlon officials thanked the Malibu City Council for “working with us” to ensure the event could go on as planned.

NCIS: Los Angeles ended its 14-season run on CBS with a finale all about “New Beginnings” (hence the title), and while it was a mostly happy ending, everything wasn’t tied up neatly with a bow. For example, yes, Callen (Chris O’Donnell) has learned quite a bit about himself over the years and did marry Anna (Bar Paly). Yes, Callen and Sam (LL Cool J) went to Morocco to join Nell’s (Renée Felice Smith) team in a mission to rescue Hetty (Linda Hunt), and we can assume that will be successful (especially with LL Cool J recurring on Hawai’i in Season 3). We know that Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks’ (Eric Christian Olsen) family will soon be one of four, with her pregnant. But what about the storylines that weren’t wrapped up or the callbacks we didn’t get (like we did with Switch and Mr. Carl? “We...
