Paul McCartney was the only one to push back against his Beatles bandmates when they wanted to appoint Allen Klein as their new manager. John Lennon was the biggest supporter of Klein, and George Harrison made it clear he backed him too. McCartney believed he could delay Klein’s appointment, but a vote by his bandmates put a stop to his hopes.
Paul McCartney felt betrayed by his Beatles bandmates
During a Friday night recording session, Klein visited The Beatles and told them he needed their contract with him signed immediately. He claimed he had a board meeting the following morning. McCartney pushed back, wanting to take the weekend to review the deal. When Lennon accused him of stalling, McCartney said he had a right to wait until Monday to sign.
“I said, ‘Well I’m not going to [sign it now]. I demand at least the weekend. I’ll look at it,...

Hollywood actor and comedian Steve Martin shared that he was upset when he was ambushed on the red carpet by British comedian Paul Kaye as his alter-ego in 1996. The actor told the Guardian newspaper: “It hurt because I was at a very vulnerable moment in my career.”
It was later suggested that Martin cancelled the rest of his interviews for the film following the incident.
However, Martin insisted that it was not true.
Martin added: “Bad reviews hurt; they really hurt. But if I’m at a screening and I see the critic, I just go: ‘Hey! How you doing?’ Like you don’t know anything.”
Kaye in his guise as fictional interviewer Dennis became well-known for accosting celebrities and insulting them with his line of questioning, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Supporters of former President Donald Trump have created and spread AI-generated images of the former president with black voters to increase support for their candidate.

There’s a great little turn by Paul Kaye at the start of Black Dog which sets the tone for what is to follow. He plays the owner of a small mechanic business, employing one of the film’s protagonists, wayward teenager Nathan (Jamie Flatters), and the combination of irritation and affection that he shows towards the boy provides an easy way in for the audience, encouraging us to invest. Kaye is also one of those actors who chooses roles carefully base on quality, so his presence is reassuring, hinting – correctly, as it turns out – at good things to come.
Nathan is one of those innately chaotic teenagers who never seems to slow down. He’s in the foster system, sleeping with his foster sister, and generally charging through life without a great deal of awareness of other people. Nevertheless, he’s capable of heroism, as we see when he intervenes to save.

John McCook and Thorsten Kaye might play on-screen rivals on The Bold and the Beautiful as father and son Eric and Ridge Forrester, but their real-life friendship is unbreakable. “I absolutely love working with him,” Kaye told Soaps.com in a recent interview when asked about acting alongside McCook. “What’s not to love about him? On top of everything else, we hate the same people,” he joked, though he refused to name who those people were. Eric and Ridge have had many conflicts over the years, particularly when it comes to the running of the family business, Forrester Creations. However, things took an emotional turn in recent months after Eric came down with a life-threatening illness that left him comatose. Kaye said he was told early on that McCook’s character wouldn’t actually be killed off, but he still had his doubts. “Storylines change,” he explained. “So when...

At their best, soaps are all about family conflict. That’s certainly what’s going on at The Bold and the Beautiful. Patriarch Eric Forrester (original cast member John McCook) is in a coma batting a mysterious illness and his son Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), who has power of attorney, doesn’t want to see his pops suffer. Other family members are opposed to Ridge’s stance. (The show’s not commenting on whether or not McCook is leaving the soap; his former TV wife Susan Flannery vacated her role as Stephanie in 2012.) TV Insider chatted with Kaye about this dramatic tale and about his 10th anniversary playing the part of the romantic designer. He’s a man of few words, but read on to hear what Kaye has to say about his “Bold and Beautiful” life. You and John have maintained since the beginning that this story isn’t about a fashion war,...

Once again, the holidays – or is it holidaze? – are upon us, bringing with it a flurry of Christmas movies.
You have your endless parade of cartoons, specials, Christmas-themed episodes of your favorite TV shows, bad holiday comedies (1996’s Jingle All the Way and 2007’s Fred Claus come to mind), and Christmas-set horror movies (1984’s Gremlins). Then there’s the cheesy yet feel-good Lifetime and Hallmark films. And how can we forget the 24-hour marathon of 1983’s A Christmas Story (celebrating its 40th anniversary this year), beginning on Christmas Eve and ending on Christmas Day?
If those don’t do it for you, maybe these lists of Christmas movies will.
Classic Christmas Movies
You can’t go wrong with these classics, which can lighten the hearts of even the most ardent cynics.

Fittingly for a series in which everybody seems to be engaging in some form of Classic Hollywood cosplay, the Rosebud moment in BritBox’s Archie is delivered by an actor playing comedy icon Danny Kaye.
Affecting a stereotypical German therapist accent — accents on top of accents on top of accents is the Archie way — Kaye cautions young Dyan Cannon (Laura Aikman) that her relationship with the more seasoned Cary Grant (Jason Isaacs) is destined for complications with the warning, “Men who have difficult relationships with their mothers always carry it over to the women that they love.”
There’s no reason for Kaye to make such an observation if he hasn’t been watching the two previous hours of Jeff Pope’s four-episode production. But for the series’ actual audience, his analysis will come across as both obvious and superficial — a bit like Archie itself.
Ultimately, it’s a bit more complicated than that.

Horror has long been a genre used to explore much darker and more sinister themes than may immediately be apparent on the narrative surface. And so, when filmmaker Max Lincoln – who first came to our attention with his dystopian graduation short Thyme – was deciding on the direction of his next project, he found himself inspired to explore the conflicts within the creative world through a horror-fuelled lens. A collaboration with writer Alex Moran whose meticulously written rhyming dialogue deftly reflects the traits of each character vying for survival, Rhyme or Die gleefully presents a literal bloodbath that comes from fierce creative competition, all masterminded by a delightfully quirky, merciless puppet master. It’s a film that is as inventive as it is shocking and one that immerses its audience with escalating tension and some very satisfying spurting SFX. Ahead of Rhyme or Die’s online premiere today, we invited Lincoln...

Fans can’t seem to agree on Kim Kardashian‘s debut in “American Horror Story.” Following Wednesday night’s debut of “Delicate,” the super-celebrity was described as everything from “super annoying” to worthy of an Oscar.
The reactions have been as divisive as they are for Kardashian herself. In “Delicate,” Kardashian plays a vulgar, fabulous and no-nonsense publicist named Siobhan. She’s a version of a trope that’s appeared in several seasons of the horror anthology series: a diva who walks the line between cruel and funny.
Those who enjoyed Kardashian’s performance praised the star for “eating this role” and for being “a slay.” One fan said Kardashian was “perfect for this role” even though they noted that she “kind of played herself.” One fan video even claimed Kardashian “might be the best actor of our generation” and should get an Oscar for her role. Voice actor David Kaye still remembers getting the news he'd been cast on "Transformers: Animated." Two weeks after a callback where he read for multiple characters, he got a call from his agent. Kaye, who was driving in downtown LA, answered his phone and heard the news: he'd got the part ... of Optimus Prime. Kaye's response as he swerved his car: "Who?!"
While Kaye had read for Optimus Prime (and noticed voice director Susan Blu liked what he was doing), he walked into the audition expecting to get a different part. The part, in fact, that was furthest from Optimus Prime — Megatron. At the time, Kaye had been voicing Megatron for about a decade, first in "Beast Wars."
During the 1990s and 2000s, Kaye was a staple of Canada's voice-acting pool. Mainframe Entertainment, based in Vancouver, developed "Beast Wars" and recruited local talent, Kaye among them. A few years later,...

Bindery‘s first virtual book clubs are opening up this month, and when they do, the young startup will begin its bold attempt to shake up the literature world. Bindery is a cross between Patreon and book publishing that will help its most prominent users curate and launch their own imprints.
Creators who join Bindery set up membership clubs where they can offer paywalled content, exclusive community spaces, and merch. This “Patreon for books” model is supported by the CEO of Patreon himself; Jack Conte is one of Bindery’s backers.
The Bindery creators with the biggest book clubs will unlock a golden opportunity: They will have the power to publish books themselves. In those cases, Bindery will act as a middle party. It will work will literary agencies to present unpublished works to its influencer partners. Those creators will then choose which books to include in their imprints. Bindery...

What if Alex Garland’s 2014 science-fiction favorite “Ex Machina” starred a real artificially intelligent robot as Ava instead of Alicia Vikander? Moviegoers are about to find out, sort of. Bondit Capital Media, Happy Moon Productions, and Ten Ten Global Media are putting forward $70 million to produce “b,” a science-fiction movie that is set to star the A.I. robot Erica in the leading role. The companies are touting “b” as the first movie in history to be led by an actor who is an A.I. robot.
“b” follows a scientist who must help the A.I. robot he created reach freedom after a program he designed to perfect human DNA has dangerous consequences. The A.I. robot Erica is starring as the A.I. robot character after her creators, Japanese scientists Hiroshi Ishiguro and Kohei Ogawa, taught her how to act by applying method acting principals to her artificial intelligence programming.

‘American History X’ Director Tony Kaye Is Casting an Artificial Intelligent Robot to Lead New Movie
Tony Kaye is making a dramatic casting move for his upcoming feature “2nd Born.” According to Deadline, the “American History X” filmmaker is using an artificial intelligence robot to play one of the lead roles in his new movie. The idea to cast a real robot came from Kaye and producer Sam Khoze. The filmmaker does not want to cast a human actor in makeup or have to rely on computer-generated effects.
According to Deadline, the robot will be trained in different acting methods and techniques prior to filming. Kaye and Khoze are hoping to get the robot SAG recognition.
“2nd Born” is the sequel to Ali Atshani’s “1st Born,” an indie film starring Val Kilmer, Tom Berenger, Greg Grunberg, William Baldwin, and Denise Richards. The original film is being released this year by Lotus Entertainment and centers on a married couple whose first pregnancy forces their families to find common ground.
