The first trailer for “Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields,” a new true crime docuseries coming to Netflix this month, has been released.
The miniseries is the third in a series of “Crime Scene” documentaries for the streamer, which explore murder cases in different parts of the United States. Last year saw the series debut with two installments: “The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel,” which focused on the 2013 death of Elisa Lam at the titular Los Angeles hotel, and “The Times Square Killer,” which profiled serial killer Richard Cottingham.
“The Texas Killing Fields” turns its attention to a patch of land along the interstate between Houston and Galveston that gained its gruesome nickname for the number of dead bodies that have been discovered there. From 1971 to 2006, 30 dead people were found in the area, the majority of whom were young women, and very few of their murders have been solved.

Netflix has set a third installment of Joe Berlinger’s “Conversations With a Killer” docuseries, this one focused on serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, Variety has learned exclusively.
Titled “Conversations With a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes,” the three-part series will launch Oct. 7 on the streamer.
Here is the official description for “Conversations With a Killer” season 3, per Netflix:
When Milwaukee police entered the apartment of 31-year-old Jeffrey Dahmer in July of 1991, they uncovered the grisly personal museum of a serial killer: a freezer full of human heads, skulls, bones and other remains in various states of decomposition and display. Dahmer quickly confessed to 16 murders in Wisconsin over the previous four years, plus one more in Ohio in 1978, as well as unimaginable acts of necrophilia and cannibalism. The discovery shocked the nation and stunned the local community, who were incensed that such a depraved killer had been allowed to operate within their city for so long.

Netflix renewed the “Crime Scene” docuseries from Joe Berlinger for three more seasons, with the second season set to center on “The Times Square Killer” and premiere on Dec. 29.
“Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer” will look at the danger and depravity of the titular part of New York City in the late 1970s and early 1980s and how that made it possible for one man to torture and murder sex workers in that area. The episodes will look at his crimes, but also the social and systemic forces that allowed what he did to go unnoticed or uncared about for so long.
“We always saw potential for Crime Scene to be an ongoing series about how certain locations became accomplices to crimes that took place there. Now, as part of our deepening creative partnership with Joe and on the heels of the high interest in season one, we are...

Crime Scene: The Vanishing At The Cecil Hotel, a doc series from Some Kind of Monster director Joe Berlinger, was watched by 45M households on Netflix in its first four weeks.
As such, the streamer has renewed the anthology series for an additional three seasons and set the follow-up – a series exploring the Times Square Killer.
Berlinger, who is under a deal with Netflix, also recently set a series on American financier and convicted Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff.
Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer, which launches on December 29, will examine how the danger and depravity of New York’s Times Square in the late 1970s and early 1980s made it possible for one man to commit — and nearly get away with — unthinkable acts in a nearly-lawless area rife with drugs and sex work. These three episodes will delve into the social and systemic forces that allowed horrific crimes to go unnoticed for too long.

The rise and fall of American financier and convicted Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff is the subject of a new docuseries ordered by Netflix. The as-yet untitled series hails from Paradise Lost and Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes director Joe Berlinger and RadicalMedia in association with Berlinger’s Third Eye Motion Picture Company.
Madoff, once the most respected man on Wall Street and the biggest con artist it would ever see,
pulled the levers behind a decades-long, multi-billion-dollar Ponzi scheme that left a devastating financial and human toll. Madoff died in April at Federal Medical Center in Butner, N.C. at the age of 82.
With unique access to victims, whistleblowers, investigators, and archives, the series will explore the cautionary tale of big money, insatiable greed, and a broken system that enabled one man to single-handedly manipulate the global financial market, according to Netflix.

Joe Berlinger Teams With The Atlantic And RadicalMedia For Conspiracy Theory Docuseries ‘Shadowland’
Exclusive: Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger has partnered with RadicalMedia and The Atlantic on a new conspiracy theory docuseries Shadowland.
Shadowland is a recurring timely docuseries based on the critically acclaimed multi-article interactive project from The Atlantic. As American history continues to be filled with false narratives believed by so many people, Shadowland investigates conspiracy theories capturing the public imagination and explore the life-changing impact they’re having on supporters and those caught in the crosshairs, to discover whether truth as we’ve known it can survive in the 21st century.
The Atlantic investigated the rise of far-right conspiracy theory QAnon long before it became a household name during the 2020 election. The publication’s interactive project launched in May with a cover story, “The Prophecies of Q,” warning that QAnon’s power—and the rejection of reality it represents—only grows.

Netflix has released the official trailer for “Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich,” a new docuseries exposing the money, power and secrets behind the international sex trafficking ring that led to Epstein’s 2019 arrest and eventual death in prison.
Premiering on May 27, the four-part series features interviews with Epstein’s victims, detailing their experiences on his private island — also known as “pedophile island” — and at his Palm Beach, Fla., residence. The trailer alone features nine women who have come forward to accuse Epstein of sexual abuse.
The trailer also promises an in-depth look at the 2008 case in which Epstein avoided a life sentence by procuring a secret plea deal with the government. Although federal officials identified 36 underage girls who Epstein had sexually abused and solicited for prostitution, he only served 13 months of jail time. In July 2019, Epstein was arrested once again on charges of sex trafficking of minors, but died in jail in August.

Netflix has ordered “Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes,” a true-crime docuseries about serial killer Ted Bundy.
The docuseries will be directed by Joe Berlinger, who is helming a separate scripted film about the serial killer, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile,” which stars Zac Efron as Bundy, and will premiere at Sundance.
The four-part series will feature previously unheard audio of interviews with Bundy while he was on death row in Florida. This unique and gripping doc series focuses on the man whose personality, good looks and social graces defied the serial-killer stereotype, allowing him to hide in plain sight as he committed the brutal sex-crime slayings of more than 30 women before being caught in 1978. While on trial, Bundy received extraordinary adoration from American women, which made his gruesome crimes doubly haunting, even in an era of anything-goes mayhem.
It will premiere on Jan 24, 2019, 30 years after the date of his execution in Florida.

NEW YORK -- Oscilloscope Pictures will release its first theatrical film, Adam Yauch's Gunnin' for That #1 Spot, on June 27.
The film, a look at eight of the nation's top high school basketball players as they are groomed for the limelight, will have its world premiere at the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival in late April.
It will be released in the top 10 markets on its opening weekend followed by a national release throughout July.
Gunnin' marks the second feature for director and Beastie Boy Yauch ("Awesome; I F***ing Shot That!") and was produced by Yauch and Jon Doran.
The film documents the inaugural Boost Mobile Elite 24 Hoops Classic, an invitation-only high school all-star game that takes place at Harlem's Rucker Park.
