Originally from Pakistan, Shazia is a corporate executive turned film-maker. She worked for Unilever as brand manager for three years before deciding to follow her passion; having then pursued a degree in film making from the London Film Academy she has since then... not looked back. She has lived and worked in the UK ,South Africa and now the UAE where she runs her own production house.
Earlier in her career she produced and directed a popular talk show "Talking Divas" for ARY London. She has also directed documentaries for social cause in Africa and South Asia including TCF and School Aid. Her debut feature film Pinky Memsaab 2018, as a writer/ director/ co producer was distributed across the GCC and Pakistan by VOX Cinemas and Everready distributors. The film won best film at "UKAFF" in 2019 and was later picked up by Netflix where it was shown worldwide for four consecutive years.
Shazia resides in Dubai and besides running her production company, she is teaching the undergrad Film Program at Middlesex University as adjunct professor.
