Veteran TV writer and producer Marti Noxon is taking on reality TV as her next subject.
Noxon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer") will co-write and executive produce a drama pilot for Lifetime called "Unreal," about the backstage manipulations on a hit dating show a la "The Bachelor," Deadline reports. It's based on a short film called "Sequin Raze" by Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, who will pen the pilot with Noxon.
"Sequin Raze" focuses on a psychological battle between a reality-show producer (Ashley Williams) and a jilted contestant (Anna Camp) over the course of one night of filming. "Unreal" will still center on the producer but will also look at the other contestants and crew members involved in the show, and the forms of manipulation in which they all engage. (Shapiro has said in interviews that she worked on a reality show in the past.)

Cassadee Pope won Tuesday night's The Voice competition, and already her team leader and star mentor Blake Shelton says she has the right frame of mind for success.
Even as last week, when her rendition of "Stupid Boy" went No. 1 on iTunes, she was nervously telling Shelton her time on the show was over – much to his chagrin.
"That's what makes an artist," Shelton praised her after the results were announced Tuesday night. "We are never satisfied. But I hope she's really happy that she won."

We’re slightly more than halfway through the Battle Rounds on “The Voice”. With only three steals remaining, there isn’t much in the way of strategy left for the four coaches. Then again, “strategy” hasn’t been the name of the game thus far in this phase of the competition. Still, there have been a surprisingly high number of good pairings thus far, with the lesser ones shunted off into montage-form for our benefit. Tonight’s one-hour installment will take us that much closer to The Knockout Rounds. Early favorites in that round already include Trevin Hunte, Amanda Brown, and Nicholas Davis. Will anyone...
