[This story contains major spoilers from the fourth episode of Wolf Pack, “Fear and Pain.”]
Rodrigo Santoro wasn’t afraid to take a bite out of the supernatural world in his latest starring role in Paramount+’s Wolf Pack.
The actor, who began his career decades ago with several Brazilian projects, has had a taste of sci-fi, adventure and fantasy with previous roles in Westworld, Lost and 300. Now, starring as Garrett Briggs, a father to werewolves and a park ranger with a secret in the Sarah Michelle Gellar-starring series, Santoro has taken on a new battle. He says, “I was just connected to the storytelling and the characters.”
The high school-set horror series, written and produced by Jeff Davis, follows teenagers Everett (Armani Jackson) and Blake (Bella Shepard) as their lives are flipped upside down when they are bitten by a werewolf during a mysterious wildfire in southern California. As they try to navigate the confusion and chaos,...

Whenever there's a full moon on any work of fiction about werewolves, we should expect fireworks.
Wolf Pack Season 1 Episode 2 was a marked improvement on Wolf Pack Season 1 Episode 1.
It's difficult when you're excited about a show, and it doesn't live up to expectations, but the strength of "Two Bitten, Two Born" was in the way it zeroed in on the horror.
The premiere suffered because it couldn't quite nail the tone, and if this second episode is the shape of things to come, then we might have a new horror-tinged teen drama worth watching.
The addition of Connor was interesting because witnessing everything that happened from his perspective, independent of the other characters, highlighted that these teenagers are going through it all.
Connor was initially concerned about Everett's questions, but it all became apparent at the hospital when he realized that Everett was possibly the only person who could save him.

Sarah Michelle Gellar was a female superhero on Buffy, The Vampire Slayer for seven seasons. The actor is now calling out social media trolls that are sometimes not accepting of female-led projects like Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel despite women proving they can thrive in the genre.
“Genre is where women can really succeed and hold an audience,” she told The Guardian. “Every time a Marvel movie tries to do a female cast, it just gets torn apart … Unfortunately, audiences weren’t as accepting. There’s still this mentality of ‘the male superhero’, this very backwards way of thinking.”
Gellar also noted that not only women are subject to criticism on social media, but she also opened up about the treatment of women on the sets when she was younger.
“There’s not a day goes by where you don’t pick up a trade magazine and hear about some...
