There are three types of people in the world: "Garfield" people, "Calvin and Hobbes" people, and "Peanuts" people. As a practicing worshipper of The Great Pumpkin and the human result of what happens when Lucy van Pelt and Peppermint Patty go through the Brundlefly machine, I am firmly in the latter camp. There's no such thing as a bad "Peanuts" movie, in my opinion, only films that are special to a smaller number of fans.
The characters created by Charles M. Schulz have been entertaining generations for over 75 years, and there's no sign of stopping. Apple won the rights to much of the "Peanuts" library in the streaming wars, releasing the hybrid "Peanuts" special/Schulz documentary "Who Are You, Charlie Brown?" as well as two series, "Snoopy in Space" and "The Snoopy Show." Now, Apple TV+ is developing its first "Peanuts" original feature, bringing Charlie Brown and the gang to the Big City.

Sometimes, the people who make the biggest difference aren’t the ones who grab the spotlight. In “Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie,” we get to see firsthand how our lovable introvert, Marcie, makes a monumental difference from behind the scenes for both her friends and her community. To train for the school golf championship, Marcie assists Peppermint Patty as her caddie, offering thoughtful and deliberate advice to help her win. Meanwhile, after coming up with brilliant solutions to her classmates’ problems – from hallway traffic jams to lunchtime pizza shortages – Marcie is unexpectedly elected as class president … a role she never wanted.
Suddenly thrust into the spotlight, Marcie struggles to cope with the expectations of her new job and retreats as far from the public eye as possible. As the golf championship begins, Marcie is still in hiding and Peppermint Patty is forced to tee off with Charlie Brown filling in as her caddie.

Apple TV+ today unveiled the first trailer for “Lucy’s School,” a new original special celebrating educators based on the “Peanuts” comic strip by Charles M. Schulz.
In this new tale, the Peanuts gang enjoy summer break but are anxious about starting at a new school in the Fall, inspiring Lucy to start her own school instead. Colourful 3D animation brightens up the beloved creations of Charles Schulz, but the humour and observations remain the same
This return to the cinema for the stars of Charles M Schulz’s beloved comic strip has heritage credibility; it is co-written by Craig and Bryan Schulz (with Cornelius Uliano), respectively son and grandson of Charles, and uses archive recordings of Bill Melendez (the one person Schulz entrusted to bring his creations to the screen) to lend voice to Snoopy and Woodstock.
Fans of such classic screen incarnations as 1965’s TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas may balk at the colourful digital 3D that leads us into some loop-de-looping dogfights between Snoopy and the cursed Red Baron, but for the most part there’s a reassuring “go fly a kite” simplicity to the visuals; north of the 2D cut-outs of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut naturally, but still far, far...

Chicago – They didn’t screw it up, and that is good. Eschewing modern conventions or typical animation pop culture jokes, “The Peanuts Movie” honors its source (Charlie Brown and the gang) and its creator, Charles M. Schultz, in a joyous and nostalgic celebration.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
The filmmakers – director Steve Martino (“Horton Hears a Who”) and writers Craig Schultz (Charles’s son), Bryan Schultz (grandson) and Cornelius Uliano – kept a philosophy of “Wwcsd” (What would Charles Schultz do?), and produced a animated feature that contains the best of what made “Peanuts” great. The look is as if the comic strip has sprung to life, especially in optional 3D, and the character voices and feel have the same warmth as the familiar TV specials (there are several references along the way to those treats as well). The story was incidental to the subplots that played like mini comic strips, featuring Good Ol’ Charlie Brown,...

The Peanuts Movie
Written by Bryan Schulz, Craig Schulz & Cornelius Uliano
Directed by Steve Martino
USA, 2015
The Peanuts Movie is like a warm blanket of nostalgia stitched together with modern technology. Crisp, beautiful animation highlights director Steve Martino’s ode to perseverance. Creator Charles M. Schulz would have praised the earnest purity of his classic characters, assuming the $100 million price tag didn’t render him speechless. The Peanuts Movie will enchant younger audiences with its spirit of adventure, while offering adults a welcome respite from irony and ugliness. Maybe Linus was onto something, because this security blanket never felt so good.
Charlie Brown (voiced by Noah Schnapp) may be a good man, but he can’t seem to catch a break. The local trees are littered with his failed attempts at kite flying (sometimes in the middle of winter), he has a standing therapy appointment at Lucy’s lemonade stand...

It’s not the great reboot, Charlie Brown!
Just over a month into the 65th anniversary of the Peanuts comic strip, Charlie Brown and his pet beagle have returned in a new, syrupy sweet, 3D animated adventure. The Peanuts Movie features the reliable forlorn Charlie Brown suddenly lovestruck by the arrival of a new girl in school, while Snoopy daydreams about flying against the Red Baron and winning the heart of a poofy, pink puppy named Fifi (whose wordless squeaks are voiced by Kristin Chenoweth, for a reason, we assume).
Coming out over 15 years removed from Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz’s death and the end of his iconic comic strip, The Peanuts Movie feels like a relic from a bygone era of languid kids entertainment. Co-writers Craig Schulz (Charles’ son), Bryan Schulz (Charles’ grandson), and Cornelius Uliano (no known relation) retain the wholesome, Americana appeal of the original comics and cartoons – talent shows,...

When we live in an age when everything, no matter how pure the intent of the creator, is simply IP to be farmed, it is right to be suspicious of a "Peanuts" movie. After all, Charlie Brown and the rest of the characters created by Charles Schulz have been huge business for decades, and it makes sense that they would put something together if for no other reason than to keep the characters active in pop culture. Thankfully, it appears that the people behind "The Peanuts Movie" take the legacy of these characters very seriously, and the result is a gentle, charming movie that seems far less frantic than much of what is created for young audiences these days. Blue Sky, one of the two major producers of CG animated films for Fox, has produced ten feature films now, and while the majority of their efforts have been originals, it...

"Okay Snoopy - let's do this!" 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Animation have debuted the newest official trailer for The Peanuts Movie, one final push before this movie hits theaters in just over two months. The Peanuts Movie brings all your favorite Charles Schulz characters to the big screen: Charlie Brown, Sally, Peppermint Patty, Schroeder, Woodstock, Linus, Lucy, Pig-Pen and Patty. I love the animation style on this, it looks like a sleek mix of classic old school cartoons and new school computer animation, and it fits this story so well. Plus, this looks like so much fun. You won't stop smiling during this! Take one last look below. Here's the final official trailer for Blue Sky Animation's The Peanuts Movie, direct from Fox's YouTube: Peanuts is directed bey Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift, Horton Hears a Who!) and written by Craig & Bryan Schulz (sons of comic creator...

In a new “Peanuts Movie” trailer released Tuesday, Charlie Brown needs serious help if he’s going to impress the new girl in school. Based on the classic comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, the film features the voices of young actors like Noah Schnapp, Hadley Belle Miller, and Alexander Garfin. Steve Martino directed, with Cornelius Uliano, Bryan Schulz, and Craig Schulz writing the screenplay. The three...

Grammy-nominee, Meghan Trainor, announced today she is recording an original song for The Peanuts Movie.
To celebrate the occasion, Meghan’s fans can check out her social sites for a Peanuts-inspired image of the pop star in true-to-style round headed glory.
According to Lucy van Pelt, the song, “Better When I’m Dancin’,” promises to knock your block off. Music enthusiasts Snoopy and Woodstock could not be reached for comment, but did release this statement, “’/’’!’”/’/’!/’!’” The Peanuts own virtuoso Schroeder added, “Please don’t touch my piano.”
Meghan Trainor commented: “I was thrilled to be offered the chance to see an early version of The Peanuts Movie – and to then be inspired to write a song that captured the film’s spirit, energy and sense of joy. The new trailer for The Peanuts Movie is here, and to my great relief, it’s actually great. When this project was announced, I was really concerned that it would be an Alvin and the Chipmunks-style cash-grab, devoid of any of the original cartoon’s warmth. But the new trailer is charming beyond measure, centering on the arrival of a cute, new girl in town who immediately steals Charlie Brown’s heart.
The animation looks terrific and extremely reverent to the original Peanuts cartoons, while the stories – two quests, one undertaken by Charlie Brown and the other by his beloved beagle Snoopy – seem appropriately cute and good-natured.
The Peanuts Movie boasts a script penned by Schulz’s son Craig Schulz, grandson Bryan Schulz and co-writer Cornelius Uliano. Horton Hears A Who director Steve Martino sat behind the camera, with Bridesmaids‘ Paul Feig producing. The team behind this one seems...

The highlight of the event was the must-see film of 2015 – Ridley Scott’s The Martian.
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, Nasa and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible, rescue mission. Back in November of 2014, a second teaser trailer for the animated Peanuts movie debuted, showing off Snoopy getting into an aerial doghouse battle over Paris. Now a new teaser trailer has arrived using that same footage, but with completely different bookends surrounding that sequence. It’s not opening in theatres for another 12 months, but that doesn’t mean we can’t revel in the beauty of the wonderful Peanuts teaser trailer that has just been released. As the first theatrical Peanuts movie in 35 years, this glorious return to the world of Charlie Brown and Snoopy is sure to stir all kinds of feelings in those that recall the TV specials, while creating a whole generation of new fans.
Created by Charles M Schulz, Peanuts was originally a syndicated comic strip which ran from 1950 until 2000, when Schulz had prepared to retire due to ill health, but sadly passed away. At the height of its popularity – though, thanks to continued re-prints, it has never really waned – the strip was printed in more than 2,600 newspapers with a collective readership of 355 million.
The story centred around Charlie Brown – a nervous boy, lacking in self-confidence, and having little experience of anything.

After yesterday's new first look images from the animated Peanuts movie, bringing Charles Schulz's iconic comic strip characters to the big screen, a new trailer wasn't supposed to arrive for 10 days. However, since that also seems to be when the teaser trailer for Jurassic World will arrive, 20th Century Fox decided to unveil the trailer today by saying that sneaky beagle Snoopy leaked it online. The animation looks stylish and cool as we see Snoopy in one of his classic daydreams, flying his doghouse around the world. And then Charlie Brown pops up right at the end, in a movie theater, being the blockhead he always is. Watch below! Here's the new trailer for Steve Martino's animated Peanuts movie from 20th Century Fox: Peanuts is directed bey Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift, Horton Hears a Who!) and written by Craig & Bryan Schulz (sons of comic creator Charles Schulz) and newcomer Cornelius Uliano.

Back in the spring, we got our first look at Blue Sky Animation's adaptation of the classic Charles Schulz comic strip Peanuts. It wasn't much except a glimpse at Charlie Brown with his loveable and occasionally mischievous dog Snoopy. But now some new images have surfaced showing off the rest of the gang, including Lucy, Linus, Sally, Peppermint Patty and more. No sign of Pigpen, but it does appear we get to spend Christmas with the gang. Could there be a new tale based around the holiday outside of the famous "A Charlie Brown Christmas" animated special that will be playing on TV again soon? It would seem so. Look! Here's the new images from Steve Martino's animated Peanuts from USA Today: Peanuts is directed bey Steve Martino (Ice Age: Continental Drift, Horton Hears a Who!) and written by Craig & Bryan Schulz (sons of comic creator Charles Schulz) and newcomer Cornelius Uliano.

Good grief! Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the "Peanuts" gang are the latest cartoon characters to get a CGI relaunch, courtesy of Blue Sky Studios ("Ice Age," "Rio"). The brand new teaser doesn't give much away -- it's basically just a quick "2001" spoof, followed by Charlie and Snoopy running around to the familiar strains of Vince Guaraldi's jazzy theme -- but it serves as a warm reminder of the Charles Schultz characters' endless charm. Watch the teaser here: Steve Martino ("Ice Age: Continental Drift") is directing from a script by Craig Schulz’s son Bryan and Cornelius Uliano.
