We finally got a Halo live-action series, and while fans have mixed feelings about the series, no one can deny the brilliant action and cast in the Paramount+ series. Halo the series is set in the 26th century and will be centered on the Master Chief, the world’s deadliest weapon and their greatest hope in the war with the Covenant (an alien race). While protecting a rebel group from the Covenant on planet Madrigal, Master Chief saves Kwan and also touches an object that seems to unlock his buried memories, and also makes him want to protect Kwan, even if it means going against him the orders given to him by the Unsc. Halo is currently in its second season and if you love the new batch of episodes and want some more similar sci-fi adventure then you might want to check out the shows listed below.

The first three episodes of the new “iCarly” have arrived on Paramount+, and for fans who grew up with the original, it’s a winner. Carly and her crew are grown now, but they’re still the same goofballs we came to know and love. And, according to series star Nathan Kress, who plays Freddie Benson, preserving those personas was a conscious effort by everyone involved.
“When it’s something that’s so beloved, you don’t want to risk messing with it, and you don’t want to risk messing up people’s perceptions and memories and nostalgia of that,” Kress tells TheWrap. “It just seems like the line is always ‘Don’t ruin my childhood.’ So we had that in the back of our minds.”
Keeping that in mind, it became a very easy decision to make the new “iCarly” something that wasn’t targeted at kids now.

"It's him again, isn't it?" Quiver Distribution has revealed the official Us trailer for an indie thriller titled The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, which is indeed about the exact stated listed in the title. This is director Daniel Farrands' follow-up to his other murder films: The Amityville Murders and The Haunting of Sharon Tate. This was actually once known as The Haunting of Nicole Brown Simpson before they changed the title. Inspired by true events, the film follows O.J. Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson in the last days leading up to her tragic death on June 12th, 1994, as seen from her point of view. The film stars Mena Suvari as Nicole, with Drew Roy, Nick Stahl, Taryn Manning, & Agnes Bruckner. Maybe exploring this story is interesting to a few people, but there isn't much that I seriously care less about than this story. Official Us trailer (+ poster) for...

Sugar Mountain‘s core premise is decent enough. Faced with repossession of their dead mother’s fishing boat (due to a Harvard concert pianist losing a couple of fingers after slipping on the deck), brothers Liam and Miles (Shane Coffey and Drew Roy), together with Miles’ girlfriend Lauren (Haley Webb) cook up a missing person hoax.
Here’s the plan: cocky and confident Miles will get into a staged bar fight with the quieter Liam over Lauren. The next day the brothers will go for a hike on the titular Sugar Mountain to try and clear the air, but get into a ‘fight’ midway up. Miles storms off into the wilderness and when he doesn’t return, Liam to raises the alarm in town. With Aron Ralston (of 127 Hours fame) firmly on their minds, they foresee a media storm that they’ll milk to the fullest when Miles ‘miraculously’ returns a fortnight later,...

"I went missing up on that mountain right there? Well, we'd have a hell of a story." The first trailer for a survival thriller titled Sugar Mountain has arrived online. The film is about two brothers who decide to fake a disappearance in the Alaskan wilderness so they'll have a great survival story to sell. However, things don't go exactly as planned and they end up in even more trouble than before. Jason Momoa stars with Cary Elwes, Melora Walters, Anna Hutchison, John Karna, Drew Roy, Haley Webb and Shane Coffey. This looks like a bit of a mess, with lots of drama among characters and not enough actual survival, though it's hard to judge from this trailer alone. I'm curious but honestly not expecting that much from this. Here's the first official trailer for Richard Gray's Sugar Mountain, direct from YouTube: Two brothers, down on their luck, fake...

Jason Momoa is set to make his big debut as Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” next year, but before we see the actor as the DC Comics superhero fans can see him as a ruthless thug in “Sugar Mountain.”
The thriller centers around two brothers, deep in debt with Momoa, who fake a disappearance in the wilderness so they’ll have a great survival story to sell. Their hoax quickly turns sour when their plan puts their lives at risk.
The film is directed by Richard Gray and also stars Drew Roy, Haley Webb, Shane Coffey, and Cary Elwes as the local sheriff who begins to suspect fowl play.

30 years ago today, Navy fighter pilot hotshots Maverick, Iceman, and Goose first flew across big screens around the world. It was on May 16, 1986 that Top Gun opened in theaters. Already well on his way to becoming a household name thanks to 1983’s Risky Business, Tom Cruise became a certified movie star with the release of Top Gun. It was also the first hit for director Tony Scott, who went on to direct other action flicks and thrillers like Crimson Tide, Man on Fire, and Déjà Vu (which reunited him with Top Gun star Val Kilmer) before his death in 2012. Top Gun, a slick, upbeat, Reagan-era ode to masculinity, boasted a memorable soundtrack (with Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away” and Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone”), impressive dogfights, an endlessly quotable though often goofy script, and, upon its release, immediate box office success. It became the highest grossing movie of 1986. Also on this day,...

TNT's Falling Skies is set in the aftermath of an alien attack which has left much of the world incapacitated. As survivors band together to fight back, each day is a test of survival. And according to star Noah Wyle, making the series was no day at the beach, either. Wyle tells Digital Spy he is glad the series wasn't cancelled in mid-season, so that the audience could get some "closure." That said, Wyle also confesses that making Falling Skies was a real "slog."
Before ending on August 30, 2015, Falling Skies ran for five seasons on TNT. The Falling Skies cast includes: Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Drew Roy, Jessy Schram, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Colin Cunningham, Sarah Carter, Peter Shinkoda, and Mpho Koaho. Read on for more from Wyle. Read More…...

After five seasons of a captivating blend of sci-fi, family drama, horror and war stories, “Falling Skies” is coming to an end. The TNT show’s series finale airs this Sunday. Drew Roy’s character, Hal Mason, the oldest of son of Tom Mason (Noah Wyle), is a 17-year-old lacrosse hotshot when an alien invasion pushes Earth’s remaining humans into post-apocalypse survivor mode. Hal has to grow up fast as he becomes one of the 2nd Mass’ strongest fighters, as he watches his girlfriend get turned into an alien weapon, and as he ventures into a dangerous mission to save his younger brother from the clutches of the Skitters. Hal’s journey got wilder when he was turned into “evil Hal” in season 3 thanks to the grotesque Espheni eye worms. Roy delivered an impressive performance as he balanced the eye worm-controlled Hal and the real Hal inside struggling to fight back.

Since John Pope first appeared on “Falling Skies” in the series’ second episode, he has been one of the TNT show’s most fun and fascinating characters to watch. In an alien invasion apocalypse, he’s the bad boy looking out for number one, a cynical nuisance, a thorn in Tom Mason’s side. But he’s also been a vital member of the 2nd Mass, loyal to his gang, a badass alien killer, and he even has his heart of gold moments. He’s sometimes an anti-hero character we love to hate — whenever he’s causing trouble within the 2nd Mass as if a war against aliens isn’t trouble enough — but he also comes to reveal struggles and a past that makes him rather relatable. Played by Colin Cunningham, Pope got a love interest in season 4. Sara (Mira Sorvino) has changed Pope, and that’s clearer than ever in the most recent episodes.

Steven Spielberg-produced alien invasion show “Falling Skies” had its final Comic-Con panel today, as the show nears its series finale later this summer. The show graduated from a smaller room at the San Diego Convention Center where its cast was the past few years, to Ballroom 20, which holds about 5,000 people. It was a panel that got plenty of laughs and cheers from that crowd and that showed off the charm, intelligence and humor that this cast has. Read on for highlights from the “Falling Skies” panel. Airing on TNT, Falling Skies has been one of the cable channel's top-rated shows. However, the ratings have been dropping each year. Will they continue to fall or will they start to rebound? Will this series be renewed for a fifth season or, will it be cancelled instead? We'll have to wait and see.
On Falling Skies, the resistance continues to struggle for survival in the wake of a catastrophic alien invasion. The cast includes Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Colin Cunningham, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Sarah Sanguin Carter, Mpho Koaho, and Seychelle Gabriel.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

TNT renewed Falling Skies for a fifth season of 10 episodes but that will be the end of the sci-fi series. TNT president Michael Wright said in a statement, "Falling Skies has begun an ambitious and thrilling story arc this summer as it sets the stage for next year's climactic final season."

TNT was at SXSW this past weekend, and happily for us, that means that they have now released new trailers for Falling Skies and The Last Ship. Much of The Last Ship‘s trailer is footage we’ve already seen, though we do get bits of new, but Falling Skies, Wow. Chock full of new clips, including a peek at the new villains…
Also released is the premiere date, so mark your calendars (or keep an eye on ours) for June 22, since they will apparently be airing back to back. I love when they do that! Thanks TNT! Falling Skies will air at 10/9c, and although the trailer doesn’t specify the time for The Last Ship, I’m guessing at 9/8c.

As we get closer to spring and the new spring shows… it’s time to start getting ready for summer! Now some people may have trouble with seeing winter holiday decorations in the drug stores in September, but no one should mind seeing trailers in February for great shows coming in the summer, right? We here at SciFi Mafia sure don’t.
And thanks to TNT we get to do just that. Watch this new trailer for three summer shows, and you’ll recognize two of them: Falling Skies, which will be returning with Season 4, and new series The Last Ship, which you’ll recognize from the trailers we’ve posted in recent weeks.
The third show in the trailer, Legends, stars Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings, Game of Thrones) and it’s a spy show but with nothing, as far as we can tell,...

We won’t be getting more Falling Skies until next summer, but TNT doesn’t want us to forget about the alien invasion series while we wait. Today they released a new featurette about the special effects makeup and prosthetics that look so natural – do we say that alien makeup looks natural? – that most viewers have no idea how much work goes into them.
Watch this and you will. It’s especially fun to hear Cochise sound like a regular guy:
Featurette: Falling Skies – Season 4 – Behind the Magic
Kudos to Todd Masters and Doug Jones, they do some really terrific work.
Falling Skies, starring Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Seychelle Gabriel, Sarah Sanguin Carter, Colin Cunningham, Gloria Reuben, Ryan Robbins, and Maxim Knight, will return for Season 4 in 2014 on TNT.
