When wealthy socialites are looking for an extravagant setting for a party or movie producers need a compelling and unique location for a major movie, they turn to Paul Kim, CEO of Image Locations. In our new reality series Mansion Hunters, we are treated to an inside look at the high-stakes, high-pressure game of elite property rental scouting and management as Kim and his team of driven associates navigate the shark-infested waters of L.A. in an effort to please their demanding clients.
As successful as Image Locations might be, we have to admit that even the savvy CEO himself might have a tough time meeting the needs of, say, a drug-fueled kingpin, the alien queen of an entire planet, a boy billionaire, or a driven superhero on a quest for vengeance. Then again, you just never know what Kim can accomplish when he sets his mind to it. Mark...

Paul Kim is the self-assured, driven and spirited leader of Image Locations. With the help of his handpicked, eclectic staff, Paul will do whatever it takes to close a deal, land a client and expand his business.
In 2002 Paul started Image Locations with three maxed out credit cards and a cell phone. Through his steadfast determination and entrepreneurial spirit, Paul made Image Locations into what it is today: a multi-million dollar company with over 2000 mansions in its inventory.
Single, never married, but engaged four times, Paul has taken more chances with his company than his personal life. He is not a guy who is willing to settle…. in love, life, or in business.
Paul says, “my goals in life are simple: gross $100,000,000/year, marry Jennifer Lopez, run for Mayor of Los Angeles, divorce Jennifer Lopez, and marry Shakira, and have four children (one adopted).”

Things got uncomfortable at the "Top Chef: Texas" (Wed., 9 p.m. Est on Bravo) reunion when Andy Cohen asked defeated finalist Sarah Grueneberg about her reaction to losing.
Sarah was visibly upset when Paul Kim was named "Top Chef," but a little bird had given Cohen a juicy snippet of behind the scenes gossip.
"I heard from someone in production that you actually told a judge in the heat of the moment to eff off."
Sarah denied it, saying, "I don't believe that." However, looking at the reaction of judges Emeril Lagasse and Tom Colicchio, it seemed like maybe she really did.
Sarah added, "I was really emotional, and really sad, but I don't remember saying that." As she apologized in case she had said something she didn't remember saying, the bad memories of that final judges' table came back and she welled up again.
After she said how much she idolized Emeril,...

Last night, I had a bunch of fellow Idols over for the show. My girl, Jordin Sparks made her way over, Kim Caldwell, Brandon Rogers, Didi Benami, Todrick Hall, Antonella Barba, Paul Kim, Alex Lambert and Michael Johns. We all had a blast watching the show. We were loud, fighting over which performances we liked (most of the time it wasn't a fight, as we all agreed). It was awesome!
Some past Idols from earlier this season came out and rocked a group number at the top of the show. Seeing Pia for just one glimpse made me happy. She should be out in front rocking it. America really got it wrong with that girl.

The most recent Ted gathering, TEDGlobal in Oxford, highlighted the theme of the future of education--and Chris Anderson's own talk hinted at how Ted sees itself as a potential part of that future.
Sugata Mitra, of the Hole in the Wall education project, spoke at Ted Global. I've been fascinated by his work since Paul Kim,of the Pocket School project, highlighted him as an inspiration when I was interviewing Kim for my A is for App story.
Back in 1999, Mitra began embedding computers with Internet connections in the walls of playgrounds in slums in India, and then stepping back. He's seen young people using the computers to record and playback music, to improve their English through voice recognition software, to learn about biotech, and even to raise test scores.
The method to his madness is encouraging young people to explore, to follow their curiosity, and to collaborate. Rather...

As smartphones and handheld computers move into classrooms worldwide, we may be witnessing the start of an educational revolution. How technology could unleash childhood creativity -- and transform the role of the teacher.
Gemma and Eliana Singer are big iPhone fans. They love to explore the latest games, flip through photos, and watch YouTube videos while waiting at a restaurant, having their hair done, or between ballet and French lessons. But the Manhattan twins don't yet have their own phones, which is good, since they probably wouldn't be able to manage the monthly data plan: In November, they turned 3.
When the Singer sisters were just 6 months old, they already preferred cell phones to almost any other toy, recalls their mom, Fiona Aboud Singer: "They loved to push the buttons and see it light up." The girls knew...

Overture Films has signed on to produce and distribute "Humboldt Park", a family dramedy starring John Leguizamo and Freddy Rodriguez.
State Street Pictures ("Barbershop") and 2DS Prods. are behind the film, which focuses on a family reunion over the holidays in the Chicago neighborhood of Humboldt Park.
The script -- which was penned by Rick Najera, Ted Perkins and Alison Swan -- was completed before the strike, which will allow production to move forward early next year. Overture is tentatively planning a fall 2008 release. Alfredo De Villa will direct the picture, which in addition to Leguizamo and Rodriguez is expected to feature a large ensemble cast.
Robert Teitel and George Tillman Jr. will produce for State Street, while Rodriguez, Rene Rigal, Reid Brody and Paul Kim will executive produce.
The movie continues a relationship between State Street and Overture execs Chris McGurk and Danny Rosett, who while with MGM collaborated with State Street on the "Barbershop" movies.
Overture, a unit of Liberty Media-owned Starz, has been beefing up its slate as it prepares to release its first batch of movies next year.
