After a career of more than fifteen years, Xavier Rombaut founded Polar Bear in 2018. Polar Bear produces premium quality and accessible feature and TV drama for global audiences, targeting challenging local content. The company is collaborating with both established as well as emerging talent, translating their artistic vision to the screen.
Before, he was actively involved in numerous international fiction and documentary projects such as Bloody Marie (Guido Van Driel), Lost Persons Area (Caroline Strubbe), The Co(te)lette Film (Mike Figgis), Bullhead (Michael R. Roskam), The Ardennes (Robin Pront), The Land of the Enlightened (Pieter-Jan De Pue) and Racer and the Jailbird (Michael R. Roskam) for production outfits such as Minds Meet, Bulletproof Cupid and Savage Film. In 2009, he produced Nathalie Teirlinck's acclaimed short film Venus vs. Me (Berlinale, EFA nominee) for Emerald Films and in 2016 he produced her debut feature 'Past Imperfect'.
