Michael ‘Duffy’ Duffield was a soldier, now he’s a drifter, dealing with Ptsd and living on the move. As Lights Out begins, he gets off a bus, and it’s not even five minutes before he finds himself in a card game and accused of cheating. The ease with which he dispatches the other players and takes his money catches the eye of Max Bomer.
Max is just out of jail and looking for a way to make some money, and he sees Duffy’s skill with his fists as the way to do it. He just has to convince him to take part in some illegal underground fight clubs like the one run by Fosco. And, since Duffy could use some cash himself,...

The Getback is the latest “Tubi Original”, but I’m not sure that’s really accurate as there’s almost nothing original about this film.
Mal Cooper was a rising star in the police department. Until someone he brought in was found not guilty and Mal took matters into his own hands. Turns out the guy was someone even a cop can’t get away with beating, the son of a senator. The ensuing scandal cost him his job and his wife.
Now he works as a bounty hunter, tracking down bail jumpers for Alexander Rogan. Right now he wants him to bring in Jake Gordon. There’s just one problem, Jake’s testimony could make sure Alonzo Beaumont never leaves prison, so...

Of course, things go from bad to worse, and some Jcvd heroics are needed to save the day. The film comes courtesy...

*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by the distributor. Level 33 Entertainment is an advertiser on this site. Director: Giorgio Serafini. Writer: Garry Charles. Cast: Eric Balfour, Ladon Drummond, Kristin Cochell, Joe Grisaffi and Larry Wade Carrell. 200 Degrees is a small indie production. From Smoke Hammer Media and West Arts, this film centrally stars Eric Balfour (Backcountry, 2014). He plays the ultra deceitful Ryan Hinds. Trapped in an industrial kiln, there is no way out for Ryan, unless he can face the truth. But, this very unloveable character never integrates, nor lives the truth, in any way. 200 Degrees is very much inspired by James Wan's Saw (2004), especially in setting and plot design. Almost the entire film is housed in one, small room. As well, 200 Degrees is in every way a minimalist production. Almost all interactions take place on a phone, or through a speaker. The entire film rests with Balfour,...

We return with the latest edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes details on graphic novel Graveyard of Empires, the Season 2 premiere of Scott Ian’s Blood and Guts, Cowboys Vs. Vampires distribution news, and much more:
Graveyard of Empires Graphic Novel: “From Alexander the Great’s Macedonian army to Genghis Khan’s Mongol horde to the British Imperial machine of the nineteenth to the Soviet Union to the twenty-first century United States of America, no occupying force has ever been able to control Afghanistan — the very reason it’s known as the Graveyard of Empires. Mark Sable and Paul Azaceta drew upon that history in their Image Comics series Graveyard Of Empires, set in present-day Afghanistan, where American troops are caught in a seemingly unending conflict with the Taliban. That is, until a new enemy enters the field: the undead.

Anthologies within our favorite genre are definitely trending upward, with V/H/S, The Abcs Of Death and other such fare making waves the past couple of years. Well, now you can add another film to the list of those joining the party. That would be Sinister Visions, a film that features five different stories, from succubi, zombies, demons, serial killers, and a segment entitled “Genital Genocide.” You’re decision one way or the other has been made by that segment title alone, I suspect. The project is preparing for screenings abroad over the summer and a DVD around these parts in the fall. Check it out.

How different would Scarface be if Tony Montana had a lust for blood instead of coke? Or, what if a clan of vampires made their own crime family? Wouldn’t that be an awesome movie? Vampires and gangsters seem like a perfect match. They both enjoy secrecy, violence and power. How hard would it be to mix some blood and money into that equation? Maybe a little harder than you might think…

These days, a lot of film-makers are taking their films to the digital world via outlets like YouTube. Sometimes they are terrible, other times they are surprisingly good. Whichever the case may be, it's exciting to see more underground films show up for free to watch. Variety is good.
With that said, check out an online web series called "From The Heart" under the official release and decide for yourself if this is something that you want to continue to see for free or not.

"Tranquil Disturbances" is the latest release from Khp Publishers. Much like the Grindhouse double features of yesteryear this book is made up from two tales, one novel and one novella both penned by award winning horror writer Garry Charles. The two stories are vastly different but they hold one similarity... they are written as a homage to the fiction from the late '70s and early '80s and guarantee the reader a roller coaster ride of adrenaline fueled mayhem and fear. In a further nod to the era Charles, with the help of Khp, arranged to have Dave Evans (original lead singer with AC/DC) to feature on the cover and his lyrics to appear throughout the Death Tide segment of the double feature. Charles has already made mention of a possible Death Tide screenplay going...

The creator of The Social Media Massacre webseries, Ron Purtee, has proudly announced that the newest episode of the series is now available online, and "From the Heart" is perhaps the most gruesome entry in the collection thus far.
Starring Shaun McGregor, Nikki Farce and Brandon Nichols, "From the Heart" was written by Garry Charles and directed by Purtee with visual FX by Nichols and Amber Rose Rodriguez. This film is certainly a twisted vision as to what could happen when jealously, insanity and social networking all collide.
Check out this hearty tale of love gone awry below, and feel free to follow Ron Purtee on Twitter and let him know what you think of his latest work.

Garry Charles’ Tranquil Disturbances (Khp Publishers) is a knockout combination of two terror-inducing short stories. In the first half of the narrative, a group of maniacal killers find themselves against an entire town of cannibals. In the second half, innocent people are slowly turning insane because of a flesh-eating virus. Full of dark imagination, these horror stories have vivid characters that leap right off the page.

A few days back we gave you guys work on Vivid, a new UK horror film starring Charisma Carpenter. Within said story we mentioned another film called Straw Man, the relevance being that horror journalist/author/actress Axelle Carolyn had a role in both. Today more info came down on Straw Man, and since I’m in a sharing mood, here it is!

To combat his loneliness he makes companions out of straw, whom he eventually tries to teach to alleviate his boredom.
