- George Cummings was born on July 28, 1938 in Meridian, Mississippi, USA. He is an actor, known for Rock Concert (1973), Spotlight (1968) and In Concert (1972).
- Founding member of Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. He came up with their name.
- His distinctive steel guitar and deep vocals can be heard on the first 5 Dr. Hook albums. He sings lead vocals on 'Makin' It Natural', 'Penicillin Peny' and 'I Got Stoned And I Missed It'. After George left Dr. Hook the band was never the same again because session musicians were used on their albums (unlike pre-1975).
