I’m not sure if this is an extended TV spot or what, though the official word is that it’s a “60-second sneak peek video” for Daniel Radcliffe’s upcoming “The Woman in Black”. If you were watching something called the 2011 Spike Scream Awards, then you caught this minute-long exclusive TV spot for the Daniel Radcliffe supernatural drama “The Woman in Black”. I have to say, horror movies don’t scare me anymore. The least they can do is whip up some creative kills or at least drop some T&A. “The Woman in Black” doesn’t look like it has either of those things, and yet, there are some incredibly creepy moments here. I just hope they didn’t give away all of the film’s scares in this minute-long spot. Check it out, won’t you? Whereas the previous teaser trailers were content to gradually introduce the supernatural elements of James Watkins’ “The Woman in Black”, this UK trailer goes for the throat and really piles it on. I would normally expect this kind of “more is more” approach in U.S. trailers (us Yanks being more impatient and all that), but the Brits usually go for the slow burn approach. I guess not so much in this case. Still, the movie looks like it has the makings of a nice little chiller because, frankly, I have yet to see a horror movie that had any decent scares in it that wasn’t telegraphed a mile ahead of time. New image from James Watkins’ horror/thriller “The Woman in Black”, starring Daniel Radcliffe of “Harry Potter” fame in his first big post-”Potter” movie. Haven’t seen a trailer for this yet, but the images that have appeared look interesting, in a, “Look, it’s Harry Potter all grown up and playing a lawyer!” sort of way. One can only hope they taught our young hero how to fight ghostly spirits back in old timey British lawyer school. Daniel Radcliffe stars in the film adaptation of Susan Hill’s best selling novel. Directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake) and adapted for the screen by Jane Goldman (Kick Ass),a young lawyer encounters a mysterious spectre haunting an English village. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Ciarán Hinds, Janet McTeer, David Burke, Sidney Johnston, Alisa Khazanova, Mary Stockley, and directed by James Watkins. The UK gets it October 28, 2011, just in time for Halloween.
