Shortly after announcing it would revive the legendary “National Lampoon Radio Hour,” alternative comedy podcaster Forever Dog is unveiling an eclectic slate of new launches, including a scripted show from Charles Rogers and Sarah Violet-Bliss, creators of TBS’ critical hit “Search Party.” Billed as an “irreverent send-up of the entertainment industry,” “Conference Call” follows a group of inept Hollywood talent managers through a series of chaotic company-wide conference calls.
Rogers and Violet-Bliss lend their vocal talents to a cast that includes dynamic sister duo Abby Elliott and Bridey Elliott (daughters of “Schitt’s Creek” star Chris Elliott), as well as “Search Party” writer Jordan Firstman. IndieWire is debuting an exclusive clip of “Conference Call” below.
That’s not all, however, as “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” performer Mitra Jouhari is also getting her own show, a narrative series titled “F**k Hut Music School for Teens.” Described as if “Riverdale” were on Adult Swim,...

Attention Earthlings: Syfy has ordered its first original late-night series, “Alien News Desk.” Starring Will Forte and Heidi Gardner, the comedy comes with a very heavy “SNL” pedigree.
“Alien News Desk” is a weekly, half-hour topical animated series set in an extraterrestrial newsroom. The 12-episode series will “cover up-to-the-minute news and commentary about the universe’s most baffling species — the inscrutable Humans of Planet Earth,” per Syfy.
Forte and Gardner’s characters, Drexx Drudlarr and Tuva Van Void, respectively, are pictured above. “Alien News Desk” is set to premiere in 2019.

Here at Et, we’re obsessed with a lot of things -- and here’s what we’re most excited about this week:
Why We're Obsessed With 'The Crown'
Picture this: A hard-partying heir to the throne gets engaged to someone employed in the arts -- Gasp! How common! -- while a royal baby is expected any day. Real life? Well, yes, thanks to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Baby Cambridge No. 3. But in a perfect case of life imitating art imitating life, all of these are also key subplots of the second season of Netflix’s The Crown. Emmy nominee Claire Foy -- in her final season of the series -- remains outstanding as Queen Elizabeth and is capable of seamlessly shifting her portrayal from a harried mother of four to queen of everyone, including you, you inept ingrate of a prime minister, by squaring her shoulders and steeling her gaze. Joining this season...

Scott Gairdner's path to creating his own animated series for Comedy Central began simply: on YouTube. As the comedian/filmmaker explains below, the silly videos he posted online were what helped him get the attention of first Funny or Die and then TBS's "Conan," which proved to be the springboard that launched "Moonbeam City," an adult animated series starring the voice of Rob Lowe as an over-the-top cop policing a city animated to look like a 1980s glitter bomb. The cast also features Elizabeth Banks, Kate Mara and Will Forte, who Gairdner took great pleasure in deliberately "fucking with." Late night talk shows have, over the years have been fertile incubation chambers for talented writers, with Louis C.K. standing as the most prominent example, having written for both Conan O’Brien and David Letterman before gaining acclaim for his solo efforts. Other individuals have gone into writing, with the latest example set to have his own show on Comedy Central.
Titled Moonbeam City, the animated series comes from Scott Gairdner, who wrote for Conan O’Brien for a number of years, along with writing for Funny or Die and penning numerous short films. Moonbeam City joins a growing number of animated shows, including FX’s Archer and Netflix’s BoJack Horseman, that try to break past the perceived constraints of the genre. The show features a voice cast that includes Rob Lowe, Will Forte, Kate Mara, and Elizabeth Banks, and is set to make its premiere on September 16th at 10:30 pm Et.

Exclusive: Comedy Central has given a 10-episode order to animated comedy series Moonbeam City, an absurdist take on the gritty, sex-drenched crime dramas from the 1980s. Created and executive produced by Scott Gairdner (Conan), executive produced by Olive Bridge Entertainment’s Will Gluck and Richard Schwartz and produced by Rob Lowe, Moonbeam City features a voice cast led by Lowe, Elizabeth Banks, Will Forte and Kate Mara. It follows undercover detective Dazzle Novak (Lowe), a handsome idiot who commits more crimes than most criminals. His tyrannical chief, Pizzaz Miller (Banks), won’t get off his back, and hotshot rookie Rad Cunningham (Forte) is dying to see him fail. With the world against him, Dazzle is thrust into a living nightmare: having to do actual police work. Gairdner and Olive Bridge developed the project, which falls outside of Olive Bridge’s deal with Sony TV, and took it to Lowe who...

Chances are that when you think of Halloween the first thing that comes to mind isn't soulful '70s and '80s soft-rock singer-songwriter Michael McDonald. But I'm willing to bet that'll change after you watch the video that follows the jump. Oh. Yeah. Pretty groovy, huh? And if you thought the five-time Grammy Award winning former Doobie Brother didn't have it in him, well... he doesn't. That was actually funnyman Scott Gairdner doing a pretty fine impersonation of Michael McDonald. Other videos from Gairdner can be found on YouTube, as well as CollegeHumor.com. But this one remains my favorite Halloween music vid of all time. Now I'm gonna go, uh...maybe play a...

Oh, man. The only way the Funny or Die video "Staying Positive with Jesse Eisenberg" could be any better is if Eisenberg himself was actually the star. He's not, of course, but comic Scott Gairdner does a fairly great impression of what the 30 Minutes or Less star would look like hosting an advice show for teen girls. "Should I like goth or hip-hop?" asks one of the youngsters hoping for some Eisenberg-y insight. Great question! And plenty more where that came from -- even a music video starring "Eisenberg" at the end. Click through to watch.

The following video, “Never Before Seen Jesse Eisenberg For 127 Hours”, fits the bill of your standard, funny internet video: It’s short, it’s well-written, it’s, whatever other general stuff, things, nice. It’s amusing. Watch it. The Jesse Eisenberg impression (by FoD’s Scott Gairdner) is so ridiculously accurate, though, it’s almost scary. And I don’t scare easily, and I am literally now scared of this impression. Might’ve lied about the scaring easily part, cause getting scared by an accurate Jesse Eisenberg impression probably does qualify as scaring easily, regardless of other usual scaredness in scared situations. We’ll discuss that later – watch this video and be scared: Never Before Seen Jesse Eisenberg Audition for 127 Hours – watch more funny videos...
